@@slim404 Below the check engine light is the traction off light. Bolt ons and tuning can put one of the standard outside of "acceptable" range the car is checking to make sure the engine is running right. For example more boost over the range considered acceptable by the factory settings.

@@kenshi600 Definitely a thing with forced induction/turbos. That's the reason for intercoolers and why a naturally aspirated engine is more consistent. A very hot day will reduce the power and why NHRA records are usually set on cool days. Not too cold tho because the traction will be reduced without heat on the surface for 1000hp and up dragsters.

Now ride that same skateboard or scooter and get as low to the ground as possible. Your eyes are focusing on the pavement around you. You appear and feel to be going faster. Iv got a baby AMG (A45s) have done inlet full exhaust with 100 cel cat intercoolers injectors fuel pumps I drove it for a week with eng check light on before she was booked in for her dyno tune after the remap there was no eng warning light and she had an extra 60hp and an extra 170nm torque, it doesn’t sound like much but that extra torque is amazing makes a massive difference oh and so does the fuel economy😢😢 she goes even harder on E85!! Don’t know the readings for the E85 because the dyno was on 98 octane not the 85
God, I always thought you had to be a mechanic & not a computer programmer to pull horsies.......I wonder who has the "know how" now to pull the same numbers without an ECM, Map & Air/fuel sensors, etc. while only running on electronic distributor, carburetor(s) & NO COMPUTER.......THAT'S HOW we built them! Still impressive, but not making my knees weak.....
