- Cursed Halo is very much an interactive love letter to aggressive stupidity and the concept of “no reason.” It takes small things that we take for granted in Halo, the functionality of classic vehicles, the utility and roles of weapons and their respective behaviors, the behavior of the covenant and general flow of combat.. The rules of the game.. And turns it back on the player. Let's take a look!

Intentional or not, the implication is that the Captain shooting himself in that cutscene is canon to the Cursed continuity.

7:26 That's a fine idea but I can one up that. If you were given dual wielded pistols that you can only fire the left one, and it just had double the mag capacity as the normal magnum. And then reloaded only the right pistol.

Cursed Halo is one of those youtube examples where I put very little effort into a video and of course that's the one that gets more views than usual. Never under estimate the power of memes.

You slept hard on the battery rifle, if you dont overheat its one of the stronger guns in the game because it melts flood and covenant alike
now all we need is a cursed halo 2 where the BR is an automatic LMG and the beam rifle has been replaced with the focus rifle

One of my favorite parts of this mod were the tutorial pop-ups when you got into a vehicle. When you got the tank in AOTCR, the Navy Seal copypasta would pop up and when you got a Banshee it said "thank you for purchasing WinRar!'.
Imagine if Halo Infinite had a skull that was called Cursed and it played something like that mod

It's great seeing the spirit of Doom 2 Terry wads living on in the Halo mod community. (For anyone that doesn't know, a Terry wad was a custom joke level designed to irritate people, but they were not courteous enough to tell you they were cursed like this mod does)

Apparently the campaign can't work in co-op, but there is a functional cursed multiplayer component, complete with cursed maps
@@InnuendoXP Yeah. The D20 grenade effects don't sync between players so they all get a different effect which breaks the game, that's also why it's effect is changed to in multiplayer from random effect to simply random damage between 1 and 200.

tbh i'm not a great, but i recorded a LP where i got to the Cov ship in the 3rd mission in 12 hours and haven't touched the game or the recorded footage in over 4-ish months xD
Granted, i'm a noob at it, and it was on Legendary, i mostly was carried by the D20 grenade and big coward tactics...
Oh also spamming the plasma pistol fire from long ranges because it's perfectly accurate unlike literally everything else
But yeah man, i want more people to play this

You played through on legendary? You mentioned that early on in the video. Legendary is rough, and a majority of the weapons are just unreliable, which makes it suck a lot.
Also, I don't remember the generators in The Maw being that bad, I think I just used a slightly charged plasma pistol or a plasma grenade.
This would have saved me an hour on The Maw LOL

There is also a HaloKart mod and the multiplayer tomes down the D20 to just random damage and no Thanos if you wanted to try and play cursed Halo slayer with fans.
The multiplayer is pretty much why the cool and good weapons exist because it IS actually meant to be a sandbox.

On, the Maw, I was lucky enough to get a scarab gun out of a D20, only after the level did I consider how painful it'd be to beat it without that cursed gun
I can’t tell you how long it took me to beat that part in easy. I just used all the plasma grenades I had and when I got to my drags I just prayed they be ones with explosives in them. It was scarring.
The needler is in fact inspired by the snarks from half-life, which behave in a similar way. And yes, they will still go after you and half life and also squeak like that

It really does get to you if you stick with it, and eventually, you find out some convoluted yet seemingly exact purpose for (almost) all of the weapons.
While Hunters are borderline harmless in this, there is something way too entertaining about launching them into the stratosphere with the blunderbuss
I like how instead of a normal review you always make them like a story. Really good.

My experience with this mod was pure joy. Dumb fun is my favorite kind of fun, and that's all this mod is. It's just so dumb that you can't help but laugh at how absurd it is. Trying to take anything in this mod seriously is impossible, because it wasn't designed to be taken seriously. To really enjoy this mod, you need to accept and embrace the random butt-fuckery that it is. It's an over-the-top, ridiculous, random, bullshit fun experience.

When playing normal halo online, if someone is engaging in non-good sporty behavior bullying other players etc, when the player is reported by the other players, the cursed MOD automatically turns on for that instigating player but only applies to that player XD
So Halo works normal and fine for the other gamers in the game mode but the MOD only affects the bully player LOL and it lasts for an hour LOL hahahahahaha For no reason XD

The level isn't actually completely broken.
What you may not have noticed about that rocket launcher is the reason it flies out of your hand. It does that because that's the recoil from the rockets firing out from behind you.
So, use the blunderbuss to fly up to the platform instead of taking the stairs, then, instead of relying on a d20 grenade to blow up those vents, try looking at one with the rocket launcher and turning 180 degrees.
Another thing worth noting is the reason that the plasma pistol takes so long to charge. If you really charge it up long enough (I think it takes around 20 to 30 seconds or so), it launches out a plasma ball big enough to cause a nuclear explosion. Maybe that'll work on the vents too?

Awesome vid. You definitely should've streamed your 1st playthrough, would've been hilarious. I like this mod way too much, to the point where I've figured out enough strats to make a walkthrough, which I would, if I had a PC that could actually record HD footage.
This mod is ridiculous and looks fun as hell! Gotta say I really love the noodle sniper, snark needler, dumb backwards magnum, blunderbuss cannon shotgun, the mini go cart wart hog and that badass retro animated sprite plasma rifle! That punch animation is great! Really fun and Awesome stuff! 😆
