I really enjoyed this video, cause I remember as a kid passing up a chance to get Hound when my uncle offered to get it for me, My mexican mother discouraged me getting toys. Well I lost my uncle in 95. And didn't think much of Hound until I became a full fledged collector last month. The first toys I got for my collection was Hound. An opportunity lost in 1984 came full circle in 2012. Thank you for this video, I can now transform him and not worry about breaking him!
The G1 transformers were amazing toys. So detailed in design, especially in vehicle form. Came upon hard times years ago and had to sell my small collection - Hound Wheeljack Mirage Jazz Red Alert Bumblebee Cliffjumper Gears Brawn Huffer Lazerbeak, Prowl, Rumble, Frenzy Windcharger all the Constructicons and Insecticons Topspin and TwinTwist (Jumpstarters), Beachcomber, Cosmos, Seaspray, Warpath, Powerglide and triple-changer Blitzwing.
2:05 The Bug is on the Sofa on the background. at about 6:54 The Bug on the background is jump to the table and move foward to the camera, out of srceen.
My first transformer! My mom brought me this when she toured Hasbro and was given this and another toy for my sister. I didn't get any of the accessories, stickers, or box. he's awesome looking!
I just got this figure today for my collection. It's in quite good condition with most of the stickers but only has the hand-held gun. Eventually, I'll get the other pieces and maybe even a new sticker sheet. Great review. :D
Coincidence- Hound's function is "Scout"... and the actual vehicle called "Scout" was the first civilian 4WD competitor for Jeep's civilian vehicles- produced by International Harvester (IH) from '61-'80.
The new War for Cybertron series never ceases to amaze me with it's attention to detail. Comparing them in Robot Mode, Siege Hound is just a more articulated version of G1 Hound.
***** We don't get G1 toys often not because of the "inferior" Transformers Prime toys and "garbage" Bay films. Some molds like Sunstreaker, Mirage, Wheeljack, and the Dinobots were either lost, stolen, or broken, making slim chances for a reissue. The molds are also expensive for stores, so they don't get to dold there often (when it comes to having to use die-cast on a figure). Speaking of stores, they (Target, Walmart, etc.) prefer to sell newer items to keep business high. If Hasbro were to choose to rerelease a G1 toy, chances are they would likely have to give it refuge to an online store. Long story short, buy 'em while the getting's good!
I was born in 1977 so I had a lot of Transformers as a kid. However, I gave most of them away my senior year of high school & the rest in 2004...except for two: the original Megatron (as the gun) & Inferno. For the past couple of months, I've been rebuilding my collection mostly through eBay. If you look around, there are some great deals for the G1 Transformers that are still intact & in good shape. Not bad for these toys being nearly 30 yrs old! Happy hunting & welcome to the fan club. lol
i would love to come to the usa to relive my childhood G1 was simply the best for transformers i watched every episode i just get really annoyed when my nephew want a transformer from now and doesn’t understand the amazing transformers from the 80’s
Also, with a rifle and a shoulder-mounted rocket launcher, he should've had a higher firepower rating than a 3. I would've maybe given him a 5 or 6 tops.
I gotta admit something, I've never been much of a Transformers fan, not now and not as a kid. But who can blame me? I was born in 1989 way after the animated movie and my only connection to Transformers were the Marvel comics. I was around 15-16 years old when I first heard of the G1 cartoon show and I have just recently watched the first season. Now that I see these toys for the very first time, I wish I had those as a kid. Oh well, can always start collecting them.
This is when Transformers was really good. After the Movie they gradually made stupid and stupidier episodes! Most of the transformers invented AFTER the move were crap. Mindwipe was good, I liked the idea of a Hypnotic bat for a Decepticon. The Predacons were an ok idea but it meant the existing gestalt teams got put on the backburner. Pre-movie Transformers was the best by far!
UltimateG1Reviewer I‘m always actually really more very 100% careful with the pieces for Generation 1 Hound’s transformation and he has good arm articulation.
i'm buying one of these badboys for sure(KO with repro lables). i guess you could put his gun in his hand upside down if you want him to point it. do the holes in his hands go all the way through?
So a G1 Transformer Hound was basically a re-packaging of the original Japanese Diaclone Hound? If he dates to the early 80's, and the G1 line didn't come out until 1984, then that's the only conclusion I could come to.
its a shame that the transfromers that came after , where less detailed and lower qualtiy , I always imagined Swindle to be Hounds counter part in qualtiy . sadly verry low qualtiy in the end.
They really screwed the pooch on this one. Hound looks great but they should have made his arms come out for when he's holding the gun. Is that too difficult? If somethings on the ground, no problem.
There is a lot of stupid episode during season two ... like "The Girl Who Loved Powerglide" which you don't have during season 3. Mindwipe was in the 3 episode of season 4 that the Japanease made a really nice 35 episodes season.
c'mon man all of G1 was epic! it was only the transformers movie with real people and transformers prime and all that other crap like beast wars that sucked!!!!
Parnell Robinson G1 sucks in comparison to Beast Wars or Prime. Half of the stories didn't make sense and it was REALLY cheaply and lazily animated with LOTS of errors. BW and Prime have way better stories and animation.

6:55 that Insecticon leaped from the back of the sofa onto the Hound's left rear. Hound is tracking him with his radar I am sure.

I had to sell mine too. It was very hard, but had to do what I had to do. I feel your pain.
@@UltimateG1Reviewer damn. I am sorry

That was Teddy. Freddy the fly (from Tex Avery show) little brother.
I think I see an Insecticon moving around in the background
Probably bombshell looking for an opportunity to plant a cerebro-shell.
Ha! So many people comment on this! Thats awesome!

I really hope Wal-Mart reissues him soon as part of the next wave as I've never owned him back in the day and would like to.
One of my favourites
Mine too!
I'm going to have to get him. I love his vehicle mode.

My son Nicholas (5) loves your reviews. Never knew his vocabulary could increase so much watching transformers reviews. He really likes Hound.

Hound is worth 2 Robot Points. And so as Bluestreak!
Yep!!

LOVE Hound. Only complaint was the he had THE most ridiculous ARMS - couldn't even level his rifle! But what a classic!
they should have made his gun really flat so he's be able to point it
So i didnt get it , what does the spider have to do with g1 hound ? Also is the spider a autobot or decepticon ??
who is your all time favorite autobot from before the movie? mine was a tie between inferno and trailbreaker.
Same thing happened with my Sludge and Trailbreaker. I was so hot when I got them the rub symbol was changing color.

hounds vehicle mod is a 1940s willys jeep

6672rock Almost all original TF's that came out before the movie were reused from Diaclone and Micro-change.
Which of the early TF's were the exception to that?
6672rock None from the first and second years. After the movie they started doing original molds.
@UltimateG1Reviewer I'll check them out.
I know that you're a G1 guy, but I wonder what do you think about the Masterpiece line.
2:02 theres a insect crawling
You got the Siege version?

I know. It is a shame.
@@UltimateG1Reviewer Atleast we got to see the show when it first aired .
Cool video and review of an awsome figure
a spider walked by and it would look so funny if the spider said trololol
so what do you think of the new lines?
I hope we can get a reissue of him packed with a Duke haha
That cockaroach is misbehaving in the background... Lol!!!!
Cool video
Did you see it crawl to you while you were reviewing?
They really screwed the pooch on this one. Hound looks great but they should have made his arms come out for when he's holding the gun. Is that too difficult? If somethings on the ground, no problem.
Hound's arms are short but sweet.
Dude, an insecticon was secretley eavesdropping on your review! o_O
I whis this guy had a bit longer arms. Otherwise a really cool looking robot.
Sl33pingLionheart holy f@#@$@k i saw it
didnt hound had a smaller gun in the cartoon?
I thought his name was tracker hound. Must be an earlier generation. Maybe it's just the store...
6:30 - 7:13 ahh spider!
.
sometimes my head on my hound gets stuck and it wont go in for jeep mode
I can't unsee the gigantic bug crawling on your couch!
Great figure!
Autobots or decepticons?
I dont understand how hound has a 3.0 in firepower hes like a gun specialist
I wish you would say which part is Die cast.
His feet or the rear end of the jeep are metal.
your right sam hip
Cool
👍
epic figure!!!
Pro its a toy that children could play with .
Absolutely!
