Lanthanoids fall on f block so they sheild the valence electrons poorly out of all orbitals which means that the nucleus has a tight hold of valence electrons i.e. the effective nuclear charge increases. Therefore with increase in z eff the atomic radius decreases ehich is known as lanthanoid contraction.
