I’m doing this exact same project now. Your videos inspired me and gave me great ideas to tackle the rust! I have to make patch panels for behind and in front of the wheel arches, similar to what you did in the back sides of the bed. Thank you for the videos!!

Very nice job and thank you for taking the time to make the video. My F-250's bed is actually a little worse than yours in the middle but the wheel wells are about the same. I'm still debating between using the diamond plating or just using the bed floor replacement panels you can buy and just cut the bad parts out and patch over them. The more I watch your video though I think this will ultimately be a better option.

Your welcome. Dragracer64 has a good video on welding in patch panels on the bed floor. I almost went that way too. Just thought maybe the diamond plate would take longer to rust through next time.

@@joerootsr Thank you, I'll check that out too. How has your spray on bedliner held up on the steel? I'm debating how to best prep the steel, I'm guessing brake cleaner or something to get the oil/grease off.

That looks very professionally done. Where did you get the sheet metal from?

Thank you! The diamond plate was from a local structrual company that builds custom I-beams ans metal staircases. They also sell to the general public. It cost $300 or so. Probably a lot more now. Still have the truck. It's holding up well.

Been trying to find out if i could use regular primer instead of the expensive epoxy primer they recomend - how is your truck bed holding up?

Really like how the bed floor turned out. I think I might reconsider repairing my bed floor and replacing it as you have done. In the long it may well be a better approach. Have any issues putting it on the truck?

No problems at all putting it back on the truck. The bolt holes even lined up! We used the chain hoist and just had to steady it as it was lowered.

How did the 1/8 diamond tread work out? Is there much flex between the supports?

My floor panels have rotted out as well as the crossmembers. I’m replacing them. My question is does anyone know where I can get the bolt locations for the bed bolts?

how many hours did this take you

It's been awhile but the project stretched over about 2 weeks. Probably totaled about 30 hours. Then again I do tech stuff for a living not metal fab so I go slow to try not to mess it up.
