Just rewatched the original series last month and now I find that they are doing a reboot! It's lame to judge by the trailer, but I'm still too much connected with the original cast in my mind to watch this reboot. Maybe in some years? But as a teenager in the early 2000s, the original series is really amazing. I felt the same way as I did watching it from the start in 1999!
The actor who plays "Michael" is literally gorgeous! REally great acting by everyone. A little scattered as far as the plot goes but the actors/actresses make it worth watching!
He is a good looking actor and has sreeen presents , he shows alot of promise.But the show is all over the place I saw that it was on and watched it ,but I found it hard to follow or to hold my interest or even care about the characters. They go to that old hospital were the aliens are imprisoned and the scene was over to quickly for you to care or get a sense of them. The only passion or emotion that you feel for a character come from a character are Micheal. The other acts are OK but it does feel like they are just running the script. If I compare it to the original series then there is no comparison . They were a strong cast everyone , From Liz to the sheriff everyone had there moment .
I'm going to put in my two cents here as a fan of both the original and this reboot. Both are based on a book series called Roswell High and while all 3 iterations have the same general premise (with Max saving Liz's life), they go in different directions. Roswell High and Roswell (the original TV show) tell the story from a high-school perspective and Roswell, New Mexico aged them up 10 years. I never read the books, so my understanding of them is limited to the summary on Wikipedia. I liked the first TV show for what it was and enjoy going back to watch it every few years for the sake of nostalgia. It is, however, very much a product of its own time. Liz is Mexican in the books and has a sister named Rosa, two things about her that were changed in the first TV series. It was a little odd to watch the first episode of the reboot, but I was curious and ended up watching the 2nd episode and thoroughly enjoyed it as well as the rest of the series. There are little callbacks to the original here and there, which were fun to watch for. For example, someone named Tess gets mentioned every so often in the reboot. We don't meet her (at least in the first season and the first half of the 2nd), but it's an obvious nod to the character in the original TV series. Shiri Appleby (who played Liz in the original) has directed a couple of episodes in the remake and Jason Behr (Max in the original) has a cameo in season 2 that really took me by surprise. If you watched the original and are not he fence about watching the remake, I would highly recommend watching the first two episodes before you decide you don't like it, as the pilot really just sets up the premise and introduces the characters and you don't get much of a flavor for the show until episode 2.

Not necessarily, you might not have been done because you do know the other actors grew up and they also moved on with their lives and they’re acting careers. You know they might not be able to just drop everything and just do a reboot of a shell not all actors can do that some shows get lucky enough where they can get all the actors back, but not all the shows can, so you can’t sit there and expect everybody come back and then on top of that they might have families and less stuff I don’t know if they do or not tell you truth but they could have families and that makes them more difficult so it’s not easy. Plus they might not want to play the same character some actors don’t mean they don’t like their characters it’s just some actors. Don’t wanna come back and play the role that they played for a while. Sometimes they get tired of playing the same role and plus they probably want to change it up for the reboot to make a little similar to the books because there’s some things in the reboot that’s similar to the books or at least that’s what I heard. I don’t know how true it is.
Well Julie Plec was a director on Riverdale, an executive producer on Roswell, and wrote The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies. So this isn’t really a coincidental if you think about it.

They see this trailer and think oh it is just a recycle of the 1990's version and not a show worth the time watching. I feel like once you get passed episode 2 you start to see that while there are similarities to the 90's version this show becomes it's own enterally. With different more adult interesting plots, good character development and a cast that brings their characters to life and make a person feel every range of emotions if people watch more episodes. Again just my take on the show, there are plenty of other shows most are really popular that I myself have never seen or just couldn't get into everyone likes different things this is just my opinion.

I think is great and highly underrated, it is it's own show and separate from the the original with some guest stars from the original show, it has a great cast, good writing, amazing ships, great character development and tackles real hard issues even though it's sci-fi. It's a unique show in my opinion and one of my all time favorite shows in my view.

Personally I think if there were that many aliens they’d keep ‘em isolated for a bit and the gov would make up some good reason to do so then mass protest would spark up and eventually they’d be able to integrate into society. I’d think it’d be just like the civil rights era if I’m being honest

Okay first off it is not a remake of anything. They did not have the right to the original Roswell show. The source material which was the books. That is why Alex is Alex Manes not Whitman. Is this the first show was whitewashing Liz into a white girl and not accepting that the source material said that she was Latina I'm going to go with the books. And the first show said they were hybrids and the first show killed Alex😅 yeah I like the first show but it was also bulshit this show is more to do with the books and a reimagined way not even rewriting the books just reimagining the source material in a way that's more modern like say making queer characters. And giving the main characters a goddamn break. Put Michael does not lose one brother back to their homeworld he loses two brothers back to the whole world😅😅😅 basically she has Max who is his genetic father / brother in Dallas who is maybe a cousin or somewhat related to Michael but is his triad brother. Both leave for their homeworld to try to make it better after a very long civil war. Thanks to Jones for the dictator which is Michael and Max's dad I guess.. because Max is technically Jones's clone he kind of still falls under being the guy's kid or something. Anyway yeah it's complicated and for the record Max is the only one that has a clone unlike first show where everybody had a clone.😅😅😅. They're full-blooded and it's not in time it's the Oasis.

Well I can tell you that the lady that wrote season 2 got fired I can tell you that they brought someone in for season 3 and he put Alex and Michael back together and Liz and Max back together and it was smooth sailing all the way up to Michael and Alex getting married you're not the only one that had a problem with season 2 it's a nightmare that no one wants to revisit. But the show itself is still good. I just skipped season 2 after episode 5 I think I checked back in long enough to see Max blow up the lab that Lance was running just protect his family from her ambition. And she leaves and you don't get to see her until season 3 but when she does come back they work it out. Same thing with Alex he comes back talks before us he was going to ask Forrest exclusively date until Forest tells him that you work for deep sky and Alex is all like I like you too but but I don't love you bye. Basically he wanted a relationship( with Michael)but realized that it wasn't going to be working with forest and yeah. I still think they should just ignored the character and just moved on to Michael and had it brought up in a conversation or something but whatever. After that it was really really good and it kept getting better characters come back together they're on the same page they work together to deal with the Jones thing at school and season 4 has another mystery.

Finally here but I just realized that this is the same plot story to charmed/somewhat. Anyways, love both shows and oddly can relate sadly. I feel like I'm an alien and coming in the timeframe of 9/11 attacks/ along with a significant one as well within the involvement of god and many more events/news

No the plot is based on the books dumbass. Which came out in the early nineties before charmed I don't exactly remember. But it has nothing to do with the charmed series. It's aliens not witches... And it's based on the Roswell high books. Not the first show and not any other show although there are some Easter eggs in the show where they poked fun or break the fourth wall. Kind of like Sherry actually puts the antenna on and said something to the effect of I still got it.. she by the way is not just the director on Roswell New Mexico but she played Liz in the first show.😅

That's what happens when you have "writers" writing about Mexicanos who no knowledge of the culture and do not bother to learn. Muhiba Khan Most of the cast has given their blessing to it. From what I know they have Alex being gay and liz being Mexican with parents that have been deported along with it being not in high school. I feel that the changes they’ve made work for the current times and it doesn’t feel like a disservice to the original unlike the charmed reboot.
I see from the pilot with subtitles enabled this series looks and sounds like advertising and music promotions. Unlike the past movies where athletic shoes, soft drinks and snacks were shamelessly inserted. So glad I keep my remote handy, cuz I watch with phones. Sound engineer pumps up the jamz too loud. And as a final pan of this series pilot(2 years)too late. I am sort of a Hexahedron so I shut it down with Michaels reunion scene.

just started season 1 episode 1 of the new reboot I'm at the part where Liz is working at the diner and her father just squirted up thing of fries with a bunch of ketchup before serving get to the customers. I knw its stupid bt for the love of God that was so Unnecessary. I would have personally fired the person who thought of that and tbh its enough for me to stop watching... but I'm trying to get rid of that side of me that demands perfection in everything... and if I don't let it go I might find that person who thought of that and give them a fitting for cement shoes...just being honest.
Well the original actress is in the show now. They have lgbtq characters so if you have problem with all that then maybe you shouldn't be watching anyway. I admit the show has a slow start but was well worth it.
This show is based on the books not the first show grow up not everything is woke. It has clear characters and a diverse background but if you have a problem with white characters dating people of color or same gender then yeah keep going.😅😅

Okay dumbass this is not a reboot. They did not have the rights for the first show it belong to another studio. They got the rights to the source material for Roswell high books. Things are different because the books were actually good. And they didn't whitewash characters. I like the first show which tried to make list White.. unpainted Jim in the whole oh he's so perfect never made a mistake in his life apparently.😅😅😅 Basically Jesse is Alex's brother in the books and while his parents really want him to go into the military he wasn't abused or mistreated. And Jim was the bad guy and in the new show which is nothing to do with the old show if there's some reason once because both come from the from the books. But it's not beholden to the other show and it does borrow some actors because they were asked to be involved😅😅 which was nice. After that it was really really good and it kept getting better characters come back together they're on the same page they work together to deal with the Jones thing at school and season 4 has another mystery.

So I just started this show and it starts nearly the same as the high school version. The waitress thing and all. Is that on purpose?
They are both based on a series of books called Roswell High, and that's how the books start too. I never read the books, but as far as I know, it has a different story than both TV series based on it. So, I think it's a case of taking a general premise and then running with it and creating something new from there.
Was expecting this to carry on from the original, it's a reboot. Kind of dissappointed.

Finally here but I just realized that this is the same plot story to charmed/somewhat. Anyways, love both shows and oddly can relate sadly. I feel like I'm an alien and coming in the timeframe of 9/11 attacks/ along with a significant one as well within the involvement of god and many more events/news

No the plot is based on the books dumbass. Which came out in the early nineties before charmed I don't exactly remember. But it has nothing to do with the charmed series. It's aliens not witches... And it's based on the Roswell high books. Not the first show and not any other show although there are some Easter eggs in the show where they poked fun or break the fourth wall.
Kind of like Sherry actually puts the antenna on and said something to the effect of I still got it.. she by the way is not just the director on Roswell New Mexico but she played Liz in the first show.😅

That's what happens when you have "writers" writing about Mexicanos who no knowledge of the culture and do not bother to learn. Muhiba Khan Most of the cast has given their blessing to it. From what I know they have Alex being gay and liz being Mexican with parents that have been deported along with it being not in high school. I feel that the changes they’ve made work for the current times and it doesn’t feel like a disservice to the original unlike the charmed reboot.

I see from the pilot with subtitles enabled this series looks and sounds like advertising and music promotions.
Unlike the past movies where athletic shoes, soft drinks and snacks were shamelessly inserted. So glad I keep my remote handy, cuz I watch with phones. Sound engineer pumps up the jamz too loud.
And as a final pan of this series pilot(2 years)too late. I am sort of a Hexahedron so I shut it down with Michaels reunion scene.

just started season 1 episode 1 of the new reboot I'm at the part where Liz is working at the diner and her father just squirted up thing of fries with a bunch of ketchup before serving get to the customers. I knw its stupid bt for the love of God that was so Unnecessary. I would have personally fired the person who thought of that and tbh its enough for me to stop watching... but I'm trying to get rid of that side of me that demands perfection in everything... and if I don't let it go I might find that person who thought of that and give them a fitting for cement shoes...just being honest.
Well the original actress is in the show now. They have lgbtq characters so if you have problem with all that then maybe you shouldn't be watching anyway. I admit the show has a slow start but was well worth it.

Locations of the new show are great, but script is very poor, scriptwriters try to put ideology without sense in the show.
This show is based on the books not the first show grow up not everything is woke. It has clear characters and a diverse background but if you have a problem with white characters dating people of color or same gender then yeah keep going.😅😅

Okay dumbass this is not a reboot. They did not have the rights for the first show it belong to another studio. They got the rights to the source material for Roswell high books. Things are different because the books were actually good. And they didn't whitewash characters. I like the first show which tried to make list White.. unpainted Jim in the whole oh he's so perfect never made a mistake in his life apparently.😅😅😅
Basically Jesse is Alex's brother in the books and while his parents really want him to go into the military he wasn't abused or mistreated. And Jim was the bad guy and in the new show which is nothing to do with the old show if there's some reason once because both come from the from the books. But it's not beholden to the other show and it does borrow some actors because they were asked to be involved😅😅 which was nice. But it didn't take anything else dude seriously😅😅 besides I take a lot of Easter eggs from a lot of shows.
