NONESENSE! If one shares such a strong memory with one other who strives to become stronger (in videogames), then how could he not be your brother!!! - Todo, probably
I was thinking this was gonna be yet another video talking about the game being awful, but I was pleasantly suprised! This was a great video summarising a lot of the positive and negative feelings I had about the game and the general response of players. I personally really enjoy the combat of the game and I dislike the way people compare the game to the Storm series or Tenkaichi series due to the fact mentioned in the video that its not trying to be like them. The Joint Attack part of the video really resonates with me. I really liked the way it encourages co-operation to launch them, but also hated how long the cutscenes for them were.
Funny thing is, I kind of have an ACTUAL memory of the one you had. When Bodukai 3 came out my Younger Brother was in the Hospital going through treatment for Cancer. I got it and played through it to unlock everything I could so that when I came home we could play together. We always played against one another in the others, and I wanted to surprise him with it when he came home.
I think a Domain Expansion would work more like a Dark Force from Darkstalkers; basically an install characters can go into by using meter which gives characters new tools. For example, all of Gojo's hits turn into "Mortal Counters" with increased hitstun to replicate the disorientation of Unlimited Void, or all of Mahito's attacks gain increased range because he is touching everything inside of his domain. Also the stage would turn into the DE while until the end of the install. Finally, another player can open up a domain in order to counter the other and start a "Domain Wager" where the player with more meter's domain stays and the other takes damage determined by the difference.
Unlimited void should work like axl low time stop since both leave you completely immobile but it shouldn’t last long and you still take knock back. Gojo should be able to infuse his normals with blue to increase hit stun and get a small vacuum effect on his attacks at the cost of a little of his bar
Honestly, I think a 2v2 3D fighting arena is literally perfect when trying to capture the essense of jjk as a whole(it ain't called Jump-kaisen for no reason). The fact the devs are trying to take a different route instead of making it another 2D anime fighting game is what really gives the appeal for me. The biggest issue with it is obviously the price, and if that goes down then people will give it a lot less slack and the game will hopefully make up it's lost potential.
It was at this moment, after seeing two back to back banger vids, that the viewer opened their domain: Unlimited Subscription. After opening the domain, the youtuber's sub count increased buy 1/560th of it's current amount. After this, the commenter died offscreen.
ByKing actually had hands on development in the Gundam Vs. series. VSTG Project, an in-house studio by BN, is the one developing it currently. I would love to see you talk about more about the Gundam Extreme Versus series and the theory that it’s thanks to the Gundam Vs. series that popular anime titles end up being as anime arena fighters. Gundam gets ignored a lot in conversations about anime arena fighters and I’m glad you pointed it out. I really want anime fans to recognize the Gundam Vs. series but they only give the excuse of “I don’t like mecha”. As for why Gundam Extreme Versus wasn’t seen so much in the public eye, that’s fault on BN’s end for not advertising it enough…
It's definitely an interesting topic. I did actually find a mention of Byking's work on the series, but there surprisingly aren't many articles online about their work. It probably has something to do with the lack of interest that you mentioned though which is a shame.
@@ComboTrigger I’m pretty sure that BN is really downplaying EXVS’ existence to the west. Think like this: If they did advertise well, which can lead interest to the games, they would be able to sell well for home port revenues. Problem is, that damages their bottom line which is their arcade revenue over at Japan. If the west would want more EXVS, that would mean more home ports, which would mean that people in Japan will be given no reason to go to arcades. BN sees that as a threat as they see that there is more worth putting in 100 yen per play than selling a 60 dollar copy with infinite amounts of play. Not to mention that shareholders are said own these arcades with Gundam EXVS cabinets, which would damage their own revenue. BN is caught in a Catch-22 here, so their solution is to use anime IPs popular in the west to sell an EXVS-like experience. I remembered searching through old forum posts surrounding MHOJ2 and it was called a “Poor man’s Gundam EXVS game”.
As the strongest video platform, RUclips, opened up it's domain, it asked the viewer: will you click off the video because you are the viewer or are you the viewer because you will click off the video. At this point RUclips was not aware of 2 things: firstly, the viewer had already initiated their technique amplification: great video recommendation and technique reversal: viewer retention. Secondly, that throughout videos and channels, the viewer alone was the already subscribed one. As RUclips began shaking with fear upon it's realization, it asked the viewer: but would you click off? The viewer simply answered: Nah, I'd keep watching.
As a PC player I have to say that the online is not totally dead, but really depends on when do you play and probably where you are from. It also helps knowing like most of the playerbase so you know when yo jump on lol. If you miss the online part of the game it becomes really bad imo.

I know this isn't a video about Gundam necessarily, but god, the newest 2 Gundam projects are easily the franchise's greatest international successes ever in terms of both popularity with new and old fans and just general profitability, yet Bandai seems adamant in refusing thoroughly to capitalize off of them in the video game space in any way shape or form, it's so depressing. I shouldn't have to tell new Gundam fans to play AC6 instead of a Gundam game, all I'm saying is, at least Jujutsu Kaisen has a game lol
@@ComboTrigger Yeah it's absolutely a fascinating topic to say the least lol, I dunno how informed you are about the franchise but at this point I'm convinced Bandai wants it to sink and the artists in charge of the projects are refusing to give in, which wouldn't be the first time something like that happened in the franchise. At least Jujutsu Kaisen still has the potential to not be disgustingly mismanaged, it ain't much but it's something.
When it comes to the gundam comparison only gundam versus (and now that new gacha game) really get the gameplay right. The gundam versus games are really fast paced and incredibly responsive whereas a lot of games that try to capture that gameplay are usually slow and clunky. NT and cursed clash arent as fluid and a lot more of your movement and attacks are super committal. It feels off to play in comparison.
For the longest time I was wondering why something about this game felt so familiar when they were talking about the gameplay, and it was the fact building meter to do HP damaging attacks is pretty much what the Dissidia games did. Loved the PSP ones and I'm not sure how I couldn't put two and two together until recently. I think it is what you said with the presentation just... not looking great from the start, and it doesn't help that there are just that many anime arena fighters out there with that cheapness in there. I feel like it'd be something I'd want to try out of curiosity one day if I see it on sale, but at the same time it really makes me wish Namco would let these devs cook on these games more.
To me JJK Cursed Clash is fun and that could be attributed to my love to J-Stars Victory vs+ but I do love this game, even more so when they buff my main Geto tho my brother hates it because they neffed Maki.
I feel like most of the problems with vs games is that similar to other genres like anime 3d arena fighters there's not enough thought but into the creation of the system and mechanics in order for it not to feel bad playing to a wider audience. I played some like Battle of Z and shinobi strikers. However I feel like a lot of the games are missing important things that should be a given or aren't fine tuned enough. Like having a really good story mode is what helps bring in the casual audience like the Mortal Kombat series does really well. This along with a really good online mode or good enjoyable alternative modes as well should be some of the top concerning things that I feel like often get overlooked.
The lack of utilisation of integeral mechanics like binding vows black flashes for all characters as well as for some domains and ults is a obvious waste also the lack of decent balance patches
Gundam vs does something jjk cc didn’t do. Cancelable moves. Only one or two characters were allowed to do this as a part of a special technique in jjk cc. In Gundam, every move was cancellable with dashes. Each cancel took a bit of your boost/stamina meter giving it a balanced limit. Jjk cc had you stuck looking at long move animations you had no control over while constantly waiting for characters to finish their moves or even just get up from a knock down. Don’t even get me started on knock downs and how long they lasts. Game is slow cuz of all this. Too slow.
@@ComboTrigger good job on the criticisms instead of just "most moves don't do damage" or "you need to button spam". You seem to actually figure out how to play the game and give critique u like literally everyone else reviewing the game

Honesty only way for games with vastly differing powers per characters to work is the obe piece burning blood method, basically insurmountable amounts of detail IMBUED wothin gameplay, the reason why 3d fighters like this cant be too truthful to the characters seems to be because of how they try to integrate the character uniqueness to gameplay itself, its almost too separate and mechanically too intentional to do, meaning this gameplay fighting first then make this set of buttons the attacks. the thing is the game is not even that bad but people's expectations sometimes be a little too high I mean their's people in the world who complains about free games FREE GAMES you paid nothing and still find something to hate about it, it's the fact it's not absolutely perfect to the last detail and when a game cost 60$ exceptions are even higher which is reason but maybe Im like the only person who enjoys games for what they are not what they should be but I find jjk fun
