Hard to find this information, so thank you for putting this together and making it so organized. We had a pack rat nest in the blower, which then led to the resistor going out on us. Got that ordered yesterday and look forward to putting it in and getting everything back to working order.
Glad you showed us the burned out pigtail as I realized my existing one was totally fine. Nice to be able to compare. I just plugged the original one back into the new resistor and it works like a dream! Sooooooo much money saved! Wish I had known about all of this repair last year when I had the motor replaced. Other people made it sound like a nightmare of a project, and it isn't.
Thank you for this sir, the Toyota Place just tried to charge me 650 bucks to do this....I have an 06 limited tundra 4x4, and this is actually my 4th first gen tundra, and you're right, there aren't many DIY vids to be found.👍👍👍
Greatly appreciated...my problem (blower low, medium, medium and high were only functioning at about 50%) was resolved with the $29.00 resister. Sweet!
This is very helpful. Your video is the only one specific to my truck. What year sequoia did you pull the cable from? Also where is the blower motor relay located so I can test the relay to make sure it is good?
Thanks! I pulled the pigtail from a 2006 Sequoia, but any first gen should work. The relay and fuse are under the hood in one of the boxes near the battery and should be marked "blower" or "heater."
I’m doing this exact same thing on my 2004 tundra double cab. I didn’t keep track of the two wires placement going into the blower motor. Does it matter if they get crossed up do you think? Thank you
Hello I’m doing the exact same thing to my 2004. I didn’t keep track of which wire was which for going into the blower. Does it matter if they get crossed up? Or, do I need to make sure they are the same position? Thanks
I recommend matching the wires. I used a junkyard part and made sure the wires were in the same position. It burned once and I don't want it burning again.
I have an 01. 363k on it. Ac quit blowing. Ac was cold as ice right before it quit. Smelled burned wires. I hope i can find a pig tail. How hard is it to replace the whole plug from beginning to end? Will be changing this weekend
Just saw your post. The wires and plugs from the resistor to the blower motor can be replaced, but you would have to separate the right ones from the thicker bundle of wires. Sounds like more work unless the wiring is damaged. I am interested to hear if you went that route or if you replaced just the plugs?

Glad I could help. That is a huge savings over $650!
Thank You Sir, simple thing but deeply appreciated, heading out now to replace the resistor.
You are welcome! Glad I could help!

Nice! Glad to hear it worked out. I think a lot of folks go straight for the motor without looking at the resistor.
Appreciate the video I got 1 with the same issue
Glad the video helps!
Very precise great visual 👍
Thanks for showing how to do this! Taking off the glove box was a huge help
Happy to help! I hadn't seen other videos on the first gen Tundra glovebox.

Awesome video, dude. Thank you for the detail on harness. Very similar issue with my 2000 T
Thanks for watching and your comment. Glad it helped!
great video - I have a half functioning, sometimes works
blower in my tundra. I know it is not the blower.
Certainly sounds like the resistor or the wiring harness.
Good video. Only thing I suggest is heat shrinking the leads individually.
Thanks for the video bud
Thanks for watching!

You will want the wires in the right position. Make sure the placement and the wire color match up.
Thanks!

Great video

If they are in the wrong position, the fan will run backwards and you wont get any air through the vents. Switch em up and you'll be fine.

@@gdupler1966 just replace motor and it came back on!
@@benjamintapley8912 Good deal! Glad the wiring wasn't burnt.
@@gdupler1966 me too! That would have been a pain. Pretty easy to change out
@@benjamintapley8912 Good News!!!
