Wheel of Fortune CD-ROM First Edition (PC) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

- A playthrough of Hasbro's 1998 game-show adaptation for PCs running Windows 95/98, Wheel of Fortune CD-ROM First Edition.
Played two single-player rounds against the computer. The game was recorded playing on Windows 98.
This is quite an impressive step up from the previous Wheel of Fortune game released for Windows (Sony, 1994, Windows 3.1). The graphics are all in 800x600 16-bit color, the Windows interface isn't visible at all during game play, and there are a lot of neat little presentation flourishes that go a long way to selling the game as Wheel of Fortune. Still no Pat Sajak, though.

I have fond memories of playing this on my grandparents' old computer.
Vanna's excellent as host. She did it for real recently when Pat was recovering from surgery.
Yup! This game literally predicted the future.
@@mackenziewachter2508 I wanna see her host again.
@@Angie2343 Well not anytime soon. She and Pat have already had their contracts signed for hosting duties.
@@mackenziewachter2508 What i Pat gets sick again?
@@Angie2343 No idea. He's been healthy ever since he recovered from his surgery almost 3 years ago.
I've always like this version better than the others.
10:10 to this day, that sound of your money being taken still hurts
It's a huge improvement (as you'd expect) from the previous Windows Wheel of Fortune game released four years prior. I have to ask though, why is Pat Sajak still MIA? It's a bit strange to have Vanna hosting.
I'm sure it boils down to a money and licensing issue.
gotta make a buck eventually, right?

@Christian Dixie Agreed. She did it for real just recently.
Good game. Wheel Of Fortune lasted for 33 seasons. What is your favorite animal? My favorite fictional animal is the dragon & non-fiction is the bat.
I had this game when I was a kid. Played it ad nauseum and loved it.
Happy birthday 🎂

Hasbro was also a publisher, fortunatly it didn't became a THQ
This was the best version on pc.
Wheel of fortune: **exists**
Silvio Santos: MINE!!!
Vanna isn't supposed to talk. It creeps me out. It would be like Teller hosting something.
I played wheel of fortune on PC on my old laptop and won over a lot of money for my school my church and my friends from aspire
This game predicted the future!
Memories
The quality of this in comparison to the PS is ASTOUNDING! Nice throwback man.
I want to get this for the NES; it was actually developed by Rare.
All of them on the NES are good
Vanna is actually a great host
And it turns out this and the next games (2nd Edition and 2003) ended up being semi-practices for her before she temporarily flew solo for real in 2019.
Oh the memories....
13:12 How did this guy solve the puzzle so quickly?
On 2:42, there is a sound glitch on landing on a Lose a Turn.
When the wheel lands on lose a turn you hear a bankrupt sound
@@anniegao9105 A lot of Wheel of Fortune video games play the Bankrupt sound when you land on Lose a Turn
Like the playstation version only on pc and with different sounds
17:09 Cause you spun it, numbskull!
And player 3 sounds different
Really, "New York, New York" Again?

for some reasons, when I play the cd on windows 10, all the animations are white squares. e.g. Vanna
Same! I've tried downloading .avi supported applications, but to no avail. Luckily, I have a dedicated Gateway Windows 98 computer tower that will play all of my 90s PC software/games with no problem, since the specs are very good for a Windows 98 (Pentium III - 566 MHz with 64MB RAM, with a 32MB 3D Card). It also uses the VGA port on my flatscreen monitor so I don't have to alter wires whenever I turn it on (except for the audio cable).
@@nathanbush6781 I just use my Virtual Machine Running XP.
If you wanna play it on Windows 10, I recommend Windows 2000 or XP on VirtualBox.
Windows 10 sucks by about every way possible.
Really, New York, New York Again?
Ooh,i love it!
This game doesn't look like it was made for Windows 98 either.
Why did player 3 solve while 450 behind
