- I'm not going to give away the plot, but this turtleneck was in the Goodwill pile. Is this splitsville for me and black turtleneck? Well, no spoilers here, but I will say I felt that I was questioning our relationship, was that turtleneck highlighting my mature jawline and jowls? Could this relationship possibly be saved? Kerry-Lou, I think YOU look amazing, with or without your turtleneck! I have never had much of a jawline, and I found the turtleneck gave me a neck! Now that I'm older, it also hides the wrinkles!!! The key is just what you said - does it make you happy. Your looks sure seem like you're happy!!!

Hi Kerry-Lou this is so cute! I am coming to terms with the loss of my black turtle neck. As you can see I am wearing it my picture. But alas, at 59 I am developing the same issue. The only thing that really comforts me about my neck line is that it now looks just like my dear mother's did when she was my age and I love seeing her face looking back at me in the mirror. :). She greatly lamented the "turkey waddle" as she once called her neck line. I used to always take my finger and tickle her under the chin and tell her how beautiful and soft her neck was. She had flawless skin. And I really learned how important it was to take care of my skin and protect it. It is the base for everything else. I am so happy I discovered your videos, they are just what I needed to make some fresh changes to my style. I have especially; taken your eyebrow and eye make up tutorials to heart. What a difference! I don't know if everyone else notices but I feel like a new woman. Have a lovely day ahead!

I have retrieved items out of the donation box and I still am very happy I did, they are some of my favorite clothes items, not as sophisticated as your turtlenecks but functional (sweatshirts) You rock the turtleneck I might have to revisit them-hope they don't over heat me.

Oh, Kerry-Lou! What a delightful video. I've had my hair it's natural white and silver for two years now. I started listening to different color "experts" about what colors I should wear. Almost always they said NO BLACK. I stopped wearing black. But, I really missed not wearing my chic black clothing. Like you,(should you still wear your turtleneck) I reevaluated how I looked and felt in black. Guess what! I think I can still rock wearing black. Even around my face! I can still wear that turtleneck AND in black!! Sometimes trying to follow all the rules just makes for a dull life. It's knowing the rules and then how to break them!

Those outfits are all ooh la la! I stopped wearing turtlenecks because I felt they didn't suit my short neck, and felt strangled in them. Cowl necks are good though. I never took anything out of the donation box. When I break up with clothing I mean it. 😆

Love this video! First of all, you'd look good in a burlap feedbag!!! I have a half dozen black turtlenecks that haven't been worn for a while for the very reason you speak about. They used to get regular wear in fall and winter until I began thinking that they just didn't flatter my face any more. There they sat. Unused and sad. Then last week (before I saw this video) I was doing a closet purge and tried one of my old favorites on. I LOVED IT AGAIN! It's such an iconic item. LMAO…I was just thinking about this as I know my 2 black turtlenecks do not compliment my skin or skin tone. But I do have several long cardigans, black & white blazer and a grey/ black moto jacket that I can wear with them. I’m kicking myself for donating a cool sweater type cape in a burgundy/rust color..would have been perfect for my upcoming trip to LV now that it is cooler there…darn!! I wish so much I could wear a black turtleneck, I think they are very flattering and so fun to accessorize. However, I have a heat issue and I would boil. Even living in Canada 😔. I would melt, steam coming off my head.

The turtleneck wish not for me. I can wear it alright, and it looks good on me, but it gives me a choking feeling. That makes me uncomfortable. I can go for cowlnecks with no problem.

At the beginning, I though, Kerry-Lou what are you saying - you look gorgeous in that turtleneck!!! Thank you for changing your mind. I recently did the same for the color Camel. As per a “color analysis” I’m cool/winter so Camel was apparently out, but I think Camel and black (or white) is such a classic look, so I took it out of my donation pile and continue to wear it!

New subbie here. You look amazing in the black turtleneck! I used to wear all kinds of turtlenecks but alas, when I reached menopause, I could not handle them any more! It’s like I’m claustrophobic or something. Have switched to crew necks and my fave, boat necks. ❤️
I've had quite a few people saying the same thing! My menopause flashes lasted a couple of years, and then went away. During that time, I couldn't have worn one either, I would have felt like ripping them off lol! I do love a nice boat neck also!

You look absolutely wonderful in that black turtleneck sweater. I'm 78 and strangely enough have that no wrinkles but I will wear my turtlenecks including my black one until I see skin hanging over this gold of the turtleneck. The black turtleneck on you is perfect with your hair color. Don't get rid of it and no gray is not for you. You would also look beautiful in a turquoise or Coral turtleneck. Personally I think you're beautiful and you look great in anything you wear, except that gray turtleneck 🤣🤣🤣 and oh my goodness the versatility of that back turtleneck with all of your other outfits it's just sounding. You look beautiful in everything.

I have just bought my first black cashmere turtleneck (I have several others,(not cashmere!) and I love them, and they are a mainstay in the cold winters of New England). My hair is white, and I love the look, and then I saw this video! Your styling is great.
