Phew! This was definitely an ugly duckling. It needed so much work. I love the design choices you made with the black and stenciling. Also the legs! Thank you for saving this piece! And for participating in the challenge
Amazing! And as someone who also doesn’t have a dedicated work space it’s incredible and inspiring the transformation you’ve managed in your apartment. Well done!
Holy transformation, Batman! Andy I'm just blown away at how this went from so gross to such a gorgeous cabinet. Sooooo much work but it was worth every minute my friend. You saved this piece! 🙌 😍 And Milo is seriously the cutest!
I don't think I have ever said gross , ick and disgusting as many times as I did while watching you scrape and heat up and scrape some more!! I would have run for the hills as soon as l touched the top of the cabinet!! What a great transformation!! I love your Milo!! He is so cute!!
Hi, Milo! Hi, Andy. WOW! You sure took it to heart when she said "Ugly Duckling." That poor piece was so terribly abused, and you brought it back from the dead. I especially love what you did with the doors. Keep up the good work.
Very helpful tips on cleaning oily messes, and bravo for tackling this piece because it looked awful! Great job recreating a new piece from the old. 😊👍
Loving this Andy!!! When you were trying to get all that grease and fat off-I was thinking heat it up!! I do like the oven cleaner idea too. You got a Milo Shaved!!! Can see his sweet eyes!!! I ❤ the stencil!! And the walnut stain. Andy-take 1 or 2 of your plants on balcony and add to your staging pix-Ladies Love that!!! You have quite the little garden going on!!! I’m gone have to bring mine inside cuz Autumn is here but now you get to enjoy Spring!!!🌺🪴🌸
Thank you for all your kind words. I will follow your advice with the plants. Yay. Finally spring here. It was a dreadfully cold winter 🥶. Thank you again for your kind words Milo and I send you our love.
Great job, and I love that stencil you used! You do such a great job with only your apartment space and small deck to work in/on! Your dog is adorable.❤You saved that piece.
For future reference. To remove fat form surfaces, you can use brown paper (butchers paper) and a hot iron. You put the paper over the fat and iron it. The absorb the fat.
Wow Andy 🎉 This definitely came out great! So much work to clean that ugly duckling piece and turn it into a beautiful swan 🦢 Milo is soooo cute! My dog Henry also loves to supervise in our projects 😊 He says hi 🐶 🐾 We are subscribing now 💖
Oh Andy what a challenge you had. The seller should have paid you for all the work they landed you with. That's crazy. And you battled through and did such a good job. I think I would have just used it for firewood. Well done and major respect for taking it on. Looks so good now.
Hola...me di cuenta que estas en Chile!! Saludos y gracias por tu video!!! Yo tambien trabajo en un departamento y me vi reflejada en tu espacio !!🤣🤣🤣💃
@@flippop You are very welcome. Many of us start in any space that we can find, with whatever is available. You put in the had work and with patience and imagination created something usable and lovely. I think we all help the planet, just a little, each one, but as a group, maybe we have an impact.
I love your work and who couldn’t love Milo. He is so sweet. Look forward to more of your flips. Is this how you make a living or is it supplement to your job.
When I first saw this piece my initial thought was 'with all that fat/grease/oil that would be great kindling - but nothing else'. Obviously I was not correct. This piece needed Andy's attention with Milo's supervision. Excellent work! Kudos for your patience and insight. New subscriber.
Just started watching your video and had to mention that your project looks very similar to a kipp Stewart bookcase. I’m wondering if you found any makers mark? So much potential! I’m intrigued okay back to the video.
wow!! it is defiately a very very rough one!! milo is the cutest supervisor for sure!! that is ALOT of grossness for sure!! if it were me i would have scalded my skin in a super hot shower after cleaning it hahaha.. i love my jig saw..wow that was a huge amount of work on making that leg!! that fat was like the gift that just kept giving lol!! the stencil you used is awesome i love it so much! this was sooo much work but totally worth it you did a great job!!
When you showed how gunked up your sandpaper was, you didn't say if you cleaned it or threw it away. The tip to saving sandpaper is to brush off the build up. It's still good under all the gunk.
This turned out great with style and elegance, great color palette! I'm seriously surprised that you had to pay money for this piece with the amount of fat spilled on it! 😱 you made it shine!
I think it takes a lot of audacity to ask money for a piece in that condition. I can see posting it on a Buy Nothing Group or Craig's List Fee section but asking $25 dollars for it is something I would never do. However, it's value has skyrocketed due to your talent. GOOD Job!
This Piece Andy You Literally Saved This Piece from the Animal Fat Trash bin...and the Hard Hard hard With Loads of techniques You did To save the beautiful wood. .Now it's Definitely a Treasure and beautiful.... well done..and hello Milo🥰👍👍💯
I think you win.
Thank you!!

Thank you, Cory. It means a lot ♥️

Thank you Jenn I appreciate it!!
I love how you did this in your living room, without a garage full of fancy tools!
Thank you. I really appreciate this

Hahaha this comment made me laugh 😂. Thank you!!

Thank you Molly. I appreciate it. ♥️

Lol, Emer. I also thought of quitting. But I had the feeling I could save it. And I loved the result. Thanks for your words.

Just started watching your video and had to mention that your project looks very similar to a kipp Stewart bookcase. I’m wondering if you found any makers mark? So much potential! I’m intrigued okay back to the video.
I didn’t find any makers mark
Now I know why they call it elbow grease. So much work!
Hahaha yes. It was tough. Thank you

My parents had the exact same cupboard in 1980 and our tv sat on top of it
Excellent. Thanks for the comment, Liana
They should have paid you to get it off their hands! Just beautiful!!!
I thank you
Wow! You had your work cut out for you! But you did an awesome job. I do think you got overcharged though. Love the finished project!!
Yeah I guess I paid too much. But I will try to make a profit
What a sweet little Westie! Hi Milo 👋
Milo sends Licks

I didn’t say it, but I cleaned it 😊
Very nice
Wow. What a beautiful transformation. Wouldn’t you like to know the story behind all the pork fat you scraped away? But it looks great now.
I wouldn’t want to know the story 🤣. Thank you for the comment
This turned out great with style and elegance, great color palette!
I'm seriously surprised that you had to pay money for this piece with the amount of fat spilled on it! 😱 you made it shine!

helper dog or inspector?
I guess he’s more of an inspector

cute dog!😁
He’s so cute. Thank you
Oh my goodness that was nasty! It was a true ugly duckling that turned into a swan...
Thank you!!
GROSS is an understatement
definitely ugly to beautiful!
I can't believe anyone would have that greasy piece in their home without cleaning the grease off on occasion.
And they actually had it like that
You said the furniture was made of solid wood. Why not let the wood keep its natural colors. Why paint and hide the wood?
I would have loved to. However it was so full of stains, grease and dents that it was impossible. Thanks for the comment.
That was very gross!
Yeah it was. Thank you Sarah
This was by far the ugliest piece I have seen in this challenge series. You totally changed it ❤. Bravo👏👏👏
Thank you
I can't believe you paid $25 for that, it looks like absolute garbage.
That was alot of work!
Looks fantastic!
It was tough!! But I also loved the result. Thank you for your comment !!
They should have paid you to take it awy.y[y should win so not trashing it and throwing up. 😄
Lol. 😉. Thank you for the comment
