This worked for me, but the video left out one important step. After the tool was finished, it said "PASS!!" and my phone had a blue screen with "Factory Reset Status 3". From there, you have to take the back cover off, remove your battery, put it back in, and then start your phone up. From there it will startup like the day you bought it and it worked perfectly. a message to all viewers that are doing this.... at the end of the procedure you will have a blue screen with the number 3 on it, in the video he does not explain that this means its complete and u may remove the usb cable. then take the battery out and put it back in and turn it on. all done .

i shouldn't have rooted my lg g3, it drains the battery like crazy. my phone died on me 3 times with new battery put on before bedtime and the next day its dead. before it never happened to me like that. no more rooting for me!
Rooting doesn't do anything to the battery. It effectively the same thing as just logging in with the Admin account on a computer. Its what you do AFTER that that can cause battery to drain (I.e. loading things that constantly run, flashing a custom ROM thats not very good etc.). Just FYI. But erasing everything will bring you back to a clean slate and help (rooted or not). But if you start adding the same things back you might notice the battery drain again.

For those having trouble going into download mode, dont use a USB 3.0 port. Use a 2.0 USB port instead

Yes it'll reset everything and put it all back to the way it was out of the box (that includes the data).

Getting the error when trying to install the LG Flash tool. Saying it cannot find the path and make sure I typed the name correctly.
If you have Norton Antivirus, it will block it, so you will have to restore the application. That happened to me as well.
My computer's security sees the flash tool as a threat, and deleted it every time I attempt to download it.
Any suggestions? I'm running Norton.

All you have to do is plug in your device while it's booted up fully so it can install its drivers via MTP. You'll be able to see them afterwards.
