i never wanted to be the acapella kid, but this makes me want to join. They seem like they are having so much fun and just enjoying there selves. Imagine just singing and making a beautiful song with your boys and just vibing toghether and laughing

Shit was full of untalented kids and the "teacher" always called me out because he thought I was the only one that didn't sing well. And I didn't even wanna be there to begin with. I get what you mean, but not always is it forced and toxic
The first soloist is a throwback and he had a classic voice and he kept time the whole song. The gentleman in the green vest and the young lady have swagger for days. The blonde haired soloist has a great voice and is shy and it’s endearing. The fellas holding down the bottom were on point. The other blonde haired gentleman looked like he was full of joy. I don’t know if it occurred to you all while you were performing this but you all created a special moment that is now making thousands smile and have a better day for hearing and watching it. I wish we could still be making music because we did that for a good 3-4 years, they were the most musically intuitive people I’ve ever met and I wish people could’ve heard us when we had our jam sessions in the bathrooms after school or on the busses to and from performances. The only guy in this group who’s stayed in my life is the one with the blonde and black hair, he’s the realest guy you’ll ever meet

All of these people have graduated and moved on to college, careers, military, etc. I would LOVE if they were to get together and do this again, but sadly, I don’t think that will happen.
I just smile throughout this whole thing. It's so wholesome. The young lady has a voice register similar to mine so yassss to altos/contraltos ♥ The talent in these young people is unreal, yet there's a paradoxical nostalgia as they're singing this old school song.

this is wonderful! i have loved doo-wop my whole life and always dreamed of being in a barbershop group. we did not have co-ed acapella when I was in high school, so I could never join because my voice was considered far too low for women's (i'm a bit lower than the person on the far right end of this video), and almost none of the songs were in my range. joining men's would've been unheard of. these kids are living my dream/as a recently uncloseted nonbinary person this makes me so happy!
