Keep in mind the term "expensive" really means high quality, and the term "cheap" means lower quality. I've played some $2,000+ guitars that felt terrible, and some $400 amps that sounded amazing. Quality is in the hand of the shredder. -T
thats right, but what about Line Spider 6 iv 15w amp? people say that sound like a marshall, but cost less than $100
guitar_ player#13 thats a joke right?
Music is Win are you selling that cheap guitar, i am really looking for a guitar, and that one looks cool :).
Tyler I've watched a few of these videos and I tend to be on your side with the idea of "get what makes you excited to play", even though from what I've heard, expensive amp with cheap guitar gets the better sound for gigging.
But I've not seen any of these videos even mention the middle option. Lets say you've got $1000. I've seen the comparisons made of one cheap piece and one expensive, but these videos never mention where the middle ground is. Where does going half and half on your guitar and amp sit in this? How do two mid range pieces stack up vs one cheap and one expensive piece? Would love some input on this as I'm still very unsure how much sound is affected by the guitar itself and how much is the amp
@ludoms100, no, i am serious!
Cheap amp and cheap guitar... Cuz I ain't got no money...
ThaBadayuss So you got money
I was about to say the same thing... Anyways welcome to the family of Rock Stars Below Poverty Line...\m/
vic rattlehead Darn them double negatives! PS: I ferking love Megadeth.
CJXTYNGXYNGXYTZ a real metalhead uses real guitar demo
ThaBadayuss Aguante Megadeth
If he hates that guitar so much id gladly take it
cheeky llama MIM strat and an AC30
MIM strat is a mid-priced guitar, certainly not cheap! 2-300 is cheap, much over that and you can get a really nice instrument. but a good amp these days costs even less. katana 50w = 220ish. vox vt40x = 200. marshall code, blackstar id core, spider V, fender mustang, yamaha thr-10, all have great potential.
Whats the name of the guitar
Same
Or me
I'm am amp player.
An*?
No, it's funnier this way
Word play
Yeah, can see it in your grammar
Jaejun Lee I’m a cable player
I'd prefer a cheap guitar and expensive amp tbh. Because a cheap amp will make an expensive guitar sound like shit, and an expensive amp will make a cheap guitar sound great. And also, cheap guitars can be pretty easy to modify
Will York Music and it doesn't make you reluctant to mod cause of the price
Will York Music took the words out my mouth man, my guitar is cheap, good looking and sounds great off amp so minds well add a great amp to make it even better.
Will York Music an expensvie guitar would make you play guitar even more since it looks good, I have an expensive guitar and it looks so good to the point that I play it without an amp
@@FishNChips what guitar is that?
look, its controversial, depending on the player. If you want a good tone and have a 500$ budget -lets say- you'd give 350$ for a cool amp and the rest for a mid range guitar. But, if you are a player who just wants to play and have fun, then you'll buy a guitar that will make you stop watching vids and go gig, even with a cheaper amp
Mid price guitar and mid price amp is the solution! 🎸
Yep that's the solution.
thats what i did! epiphone sg pro 400 running through a orange cr120 head and marshall mg412cf cabinet. all together spent about $1200 and the damn thing sound amazing.
Schecter Omen 6 $350
Fender Mustang III $330
my main rig until a couple months ago when I finally saved up for a PRS was an ltdec1000 I got used for 400$ and bias. sounded pretty great actually
Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro Alpine White and a Marshall Dsl40c
I'd like to see you gig with a cheap amp.
I watched a dude get one of the most killer classic tones with a 10w combo and a £90 multifx.
I've watched countless dickheads own axfxs and sounded like complete shit or just like every other fucker with one.
But I totally know what you mean. Bottom line is, 95% of your audience doesn't care how expensive your stuff is and the other 5% shpuld be busy wondering if it sounds good and not if it cost a lot.
Don't care* my bad
Bence Baranyai try gigging with an unbalanced guitar.
Low watts on a gig setup = the audience will swallow your amp sound
In my opinion, as long as a cheap guitar feels great to play and looks they way you want, what more can you ask for when it sounds great with a good amp?
Same thought
I feel the same about it. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
Are amps even relevant in a recording setup anymore?
if you're gigging, expensive amp
if you play at home, expensive guitar
Good call.
Riffner I personally disagree.
An expansive guitar played through a lower quality amp doesn't sound good, it's a fact. (I'm talking about 50$ solid state amps here f.e.).
A guitar that doesn't feel good, no matter the price tag, isn't good either since it's frustrating when you play it.
In my opinion, you should have a mix of both, an amp that creates a nice sound and a guitar that's comfortable to play. I think you can get all that for less than 1000$ .
Mikolaj N If i had to get a rig for $1000 i would get an epiphone les paul plus top pro, change the nut on it.
And for the amp I'll choose the Marshall dsl15c and maybe add a wah pedal if the budget allows.
That would be sweet
Just what I was about to say. You can't gig with a cheap amp. It's going to sound bad. However, you can gig with a cheap guitar. Assuming it has okay intonation and doesn't slice your fingertips when you play it. Guitars like these are in the secondhand market and go for some good cheap prices (150$-250$). Spend the rest of the money on a good loud amp.
If you really need the expensive guitar to actually pick up the guitar and get the holy grail of "feel" then go ahead, but the only person you're pleasing is yourself.
Mega Regenerator excactly, I bought a jackson dinky pro series from 92' with reverse headstock for 225 euro's on the dutch ebay
I'm an acoustic guitarist, why am I here
To join the expensive guitar + cheap amp side?
Because you can plug an electric acoustic into an amp. It's the same issue. High end amp or cheap acoustic or High end acoustic and cheap amp. I'd go for the expensive acoustic.
3dgun i'm using a filipino-made guitar lol i don't know if it's a high end guitar or not
3dgun Expensive acoustic for sure
Idk. Acoustic-electric guitars maybe
Am i the only one who plays my electric without the amp, because I'm too lazy, and my mom works right next to me?
Also, does a $650 guitar expensive, and is a Marshall valvestate a good amp?
NetherCheese32// Gaming videos and more! 650 is midrange.
I play my bullet strat unamplified all the time.
You can use headphones with your amp
Expensive in this video means over $1000.
650 is a lower mid range... to most is cheap, but there's like$300 Squiers n stuff that like
Cheap guitar and go to your friends house to use their amp
ah yes modern problems require modern solutions
bold of you to assume I have any friends, let alone friends who play guitar
my friends play drums
cheap guitar and cheap amp. that's what i've got.
Can Kurtoğlu yazik :D

Can Kurtoğlu I feel u bro :D
Off yaa 2. gitar ne alsamm Xdd
Lmao I have a fucking squier bye
PatTheTwat relatable
PatTheTwat Some Squiers are fantastic, better playing than a few Fenders I've tried.
Newest Squiers are pretty good. I learned soooo much with mine until I started buying more expensive Fender and Ibanez guitars. There's a difference, of course, but I still like the Squier sweet and clean sound. Not a brutal tone, but they are, at least, pretty well built and are more than enough to play live.
kamealex yeah that's cool but I'm gonna upgrade later , I'm pretty young now and don't have lots to spend on guitars
PatTheTwat Cool
The rhythm u played in that cheap guitar is awesome
Well yeah but he’s a really good player
I love my squier strat. I honestly don’t care if I have some dumb expensive guitar, I just want to have fun playing my squier. I play guitar for the sound, and as long as the guitar is comfortable to hold (like my squier) I don’t care how expensive it is. Expensive amp all the way, nothing beats the sound of a powerchord through a giant tube amp.
I was expecting him to actually plug in the cheap guitar to the good amp and the high quality guitar to the shit amp and play.
Buy a "Used" high quality gear to get what you want in a cheaper way.-My opinion
Even a cheap guitar ($200-$400) really comes alive when plugged into an expensive amp. If you plug an expensive guitar into a cheap amp, the guitar won't give you all it has. Imho, an expensive amp is really what enables you to squeeze it all out of even a cheap guitar.
75$ it's cheap to me
To me id still rather have an expensive guitar but I’m 14 and it’s gonna take another few months to save up for the guitar I want next year I’ll probably buy a nicer amp
@@codydiamond2059 dude im 19 turning 20, and im broke as heck. My guitar is $150 and a $100 amp, i want a new amp
@@codydiamond2059 did you buy that guitar?
My first (and only) guitar is a high quality acoustic, I saved up my money and waited a bit longer, but I love how it looks and feels and I absolutely have incentive to pick the guitar up if I have a moment to myself, I would still pick up a lower grade guitar but I'm not sure as much. I am the most beginner there is of beginners, but I'm still enjoying it. Side note, I literally saved up for 3 years to get this guitar, I have a low income and a family to feed, but it was worth the wait in my opinion. Sure, I could be a shred master by now, but I just wanted a nicer guitar. It looks nice, plays good, I love it. I kiss my daughter goodnight and tuck her into bed, then I kiss my guitar goodnight and put her in her case for the night .... true fact. I'm weird, whatever.
Jojo Sagewitch And your'll be able to hand that nice guitar to your daughter one day and pass along your knowledge along with a family tradition / Legacy ";^)~
awesome stuff! I hope to save for a beautiful guitar I can be proud of aswell! i can just imagine how happy it makes you to play it 😏
Jojo Sagewitch Well if u want a good main acoustic then u should go expensive because on a acoustice all playability tone and volume comes out of your guitar
What guitar do you have?
dude, your new studio is fucking awesome
Cheap guitar meaning that your budget didn't quite cover the 4th string
Hi! Great video! I really enjoyed how you out so much energy into your video!
I am getting my first guitar in around 9 days! I am so excited to get started I have been watching all of your vidoes and othee channels videos to keep me excited for my guitar.
I personnaly prefer a good amp and a squier rather than a gibson through a little amp. No matter how good your guitar is, it will sound great on a good amp (mine's a fender hot rod) and will sound bad on a 10 watt amp. About guitars, I own a squier telecaster, which was my first electric ever and an ibanez prestige. I still play on my squier daily because through time it aged in a good way and it sounds great no matter what can be said about squier. My Ibanez is also really cool but i don't play it as much , also because that floyd rose is a pain in the ass to set. Also what is great about cheap guitars is that you can upgrade them without much remorse.
AvAfanfromfrance deck the Floyd rose..it works pretty well
I heard about a device that can block the floyd rose but I can't find it. If you know about it I'd like to hear about it!
AvAfanfromfrance I tried to find a proper deck for my device, but failed. They were either unavailable or too expensive. I use a tightly bound roll of paper. You can do that too. Or use a piece of wood like Eric Clapton did. Cheers. \m/
AvAfanfromfrance I believe it is called a Tremol-no.
It's not about Squier over Gibson, it's about a good amp over a shitty one. Of course a Gibson on a good amp will sound better than my Squier, but i doubt it would on a thin sounding amp.
I started playing guitar with a very very cheap(54 dollars new) second hand acoustic guitar, I loved it. Then after a year I moved into a different city for study and there I bought a new but cheap acoustic guitar(46 dollars). But I wanted to play electric guitar so after a while I bought a cheap electric guitar(84 dollars) but after a day or two I started to abhor it. I still don't know why I bought that guitar. Then I decided to buy a good and legitimate guitar. So I continued to practice with that acoustic guitar and saved money for 5 years then I bought the Ibanez RGAIX6FM. When I saw a demo of that guitar I instantly fell in love with it and I felt that this guitar will inspire me more and I was right. When I first strum an E power chord cranking up my new Marshall MG15, that feeling was something that words cannot describe. I'm sure rock metal guitarists know that feeling.
jet black I know that feeling too bro. It was wonderful to play all Metallica with distortion instead of through a shitty acoustic \m/
jet black i still in progress of acoustic practice......but my school have ibanez jem so i will go to school on every holiday just to play it.feels good even the amp just vox pathfinder
jet black I started
on electric
When you have an expensive guitar for like 2500$ and an amp for 150$ it will sound like crap but u can spend 1250$ for an amp like a peavy 6505 or like a marshall jcm900 and 1250$ on a good guitar and it will sound massive. So keep in mind if you buy quality gear you have to have the other stuff beeing quality too so its ob the same level cause just cables can mess up your sound
Jvk.15 if 150 bucks amp sound like shit,I don't know about my 50 bucks lol
I'd like someone to give me a technical answer for why they think anything past basic shielded cables makes any difference in sound quality. Hook them up to an oscilloscope and you'll see nearly identical signals. Its snake oil.
Most of the time, I play a $5,500 guitar through a $100 amp.
Man, every corner of your studio is amazingly neat! not a usual thing of most guitar guru star in youtube.
Plays on a perfectly set up expensive guitar and then on a buzzy cheap guitar without 2 strings - says "Just not quite the same feeling"... Are you serious?
BTW I would recommend buying a cheap but comfortable to play guitar, expensive amp and then some decent second hand pickups.
Dariusz Kłos don't forget 2:53. 'I tried to be as fair possible.'
Yeah, it's pretty weird to say those words and compare a guitar without a full set of strings to a perfectly set up instrument. I think that even a complete guitar noob wouldn't go for an expensive amp and try to play it with a guitar without at least a set of new strings. It's just unrealistic/unfair.
Yeah he should play the same chords on the "cheap" guitar, that would make it fair
Spot on...
Dariusz Kłos for starters, that cheap guitar is cheap quality not price. no one is talking about price here. they guitar probably doesn't stay in tuner well. and Its pretty buzzy as you can here. Take a wild guess and see if you rather play a high quality guitar or a cheap. If your guitar doesn't feel nice to play and it doesn't sound good then your going to be pretty unencouraged to play guitar at all. Things like 500-600$ prs and fender strats aren't as a good quality as and 13000 prs or fender strat. just because he didn't play the same thing in the guitar doesn't mean that it was unfair. he couldnt play the same thing.
Expensive amp and cheap guitar
because its like 70% of the tone you got comes from the settings of the amp and its effects etc.
its like 30% of the tone comes from the humpuckers/pickups of the guitar (and the wood that effects the tone itself)
SO, Maybe cheap les paul from epiphone and some expensive amp from some other good company. 😊😊
Artwood gaming cast and music. A good amp will make a cheap guitar sound good and vise versa I will choose expensive guitar
Yes but what about the feel? The craftmanship? The hardware?
a lot of cheap guitars would do just fine
if an amp is 70 percent of the tone then you need a better, nicer sounding guitar more suited to you and then use an amp for what its for. amplifying! effects you can get from pedals over time and if you stop liking the way the pedal sounds its better than having an amp with effects you are suck with.
Artwood gaming cast and music. Co Amp is about 60 percent of your tone... while the guitar is 100 percent playability. If you have a cheap guitar, it will sound like shit, play like shit and most likely look like shit. The way your guitar is setup is the most important thing when playing it
Too fucking obvious
this video deserve a lot more views and i love this channel
I definitely agree with you, I had a squire strat for my entire life and then I upgraded a big step to a Gibson les Paul and it definitely made me more excited and confident when playing. Great work!
"Are you a musician or guitar player?" Having a cheap amp doesn't allow you to tone your instrument right ... it's better to learn how to get a tone off a cheaper guitar than having to play a 10watt amp with a $ 3,000 guitar
Youre right about everything that you said. Buttt as far as SOUND goes... expensive amp will always take the cake.. that and practicing all day everyday.
Keep up the great work tyler. Im a fairly new sub but i keep coming back. I don't know but your doing something right.
Great topic man. I have the cheapest guitar and it was always out of tune everytime i try to bend the strings but luckily i just got marshall MG 100 fx and it inspired me to play everyday and it doesn’t get out of tune anymore because i dont have to bend that hard like before. Keep rockin people🤘
If I had an expensive guitar, I would be scared to touch it/play it because I would ruin how beautiful it is.
how do you ruin a guitar by playing it?
I spend lots of money on things like fountain pens and music instruments, and it can take a while to warm to using them. But, what are they, if not tools? A means to an end? There's no point in an unused pen or instrument, you might as well just put up a photo of it. The real price and cost of it is so it can be used, and used well, as that is what they're meant to do. Go, get that expensive thing, and use it as much as you can. And that way, even if it gets damaged, it will have been better than it never having been used at all.
I have a $3000 strat and i play the $#!+ out of it
inspector gay Eric Clapton gave me his 1963 strat after a show I did with him and my buddy jimi hendrix i still got it now still sounds better then ever
austin_is_very_neat well why would you buy it in the first place then??
I prefer high quality guitar and inexpensive amp. My Music Man Axis sounds great through my Roland Mini-Cube!
My music teacher has used the roland mini cube for years. He also plays shows almost every night for years. I HAVE BETTER EQUIPMENT THAN HIM. and he still kicks my ass at playing.
GS HYBR1D The Roland Mini-Cube is a badass piece of equipment and very affordable! Rock on.
I AM Z Not to mention he only plays squires
But you wouldn't gig with that combo tho would you. COSM is a very good guitar modelling system IMO. Great for recording and low volume practicing. But that is it.
I AM Z i have the cube 20gx and it sounds amazing with my squier strat. Im waiting for my jackson pro sc to arrive though... cant wait! ^^
I really like your interpretation of the question and agree with you. Personally I always chose expensive amp and cheap guitar, but this was because I was approaching the question while thinking of being able to gig and get the best sound quality.
Love the videos,
Greatings from Holland !
Is the amp that changes the tone or the guitar?
How do I write heavy rock songs without music theory? I just get lost at times
Chin Chong I think Tyler would respond: "Check out my course, Guitar Super System, links in the description." You're welcome, Tyler.
How do you write heavy rock songs without music theory?
Answer: You sellout to a major record label.
learn music theory
Chin Chong No worries, it's a really big part of the process to get lost at times. That's what makes it so interesting, but admittedly frustrating, too.
You don't need to know formal music theory to write music. If it sounds good, it is good. Even if you knew a lot of theory, you probably wouldn't want the listener to pay too much attention to that. That said, it's easier to proceed if you look at what other heavy rock writers/bands have done. Learn your favourite song. Play your favourite riffs. Copy, steal, experiment and make that look your own. It's okay if you plagiarise, the process is more important that the outcome. Maybe you'll write a hit next week, but I can't guarantee that. What I can guarantee, though, is that the more you write, the better you will get.
Plus, I'm sure you DO know theory! Or at least the components that make up several different theoretical concepts. If you have a general idea of which chords or groups of notes sound nice/cool/dissonant/resolving/sad/mysterious together, then you have a model to follow. Maybe it doesn't have a name yet but the biggest emotions can't be named either so don't worry too much about it.
As a final nugget of inspiration, try to come up with a cool rhythm and continue from there. That way you're less stuck on which chords to use or which scale to use etc. And don't be afraid to use your own voice in writing even if you're never planning to sing. Good luck!
Learn music theory at your own pace. Nirvana is just power chords and basic chords. Punk is just power chords. learn the pentatonic scale and that would be a great place to start. I've been playing for 12 years now and that's what I knew after my first year of playing. It helped a lot to develop where I'm at now.
Great amp over cheap guitar. A great amp will pretty much make any guitar sound great.
Still valid in 2021! Thanks T!
The resonance of that PRS unplugged though!
I have one excellent guitar I bought new in 1978 (Gibson 'The Paul' solid walnut, not for sale ever) and one very good guitar (Epiphone ES-339) I got as a present. I love these so much I don't take them out on jams. Instead I got some lesser guitars and learned how to fix them up and set them up. A Squier Transfat (I overpaid at $150 with gig bag), an Epiphone LP Special II ($70 with 10 sets of strings from a self-disgusted guy who bought it full of ambition and never touched it again. He had it on Craigslist for 2 months at $90 and I offered him $70. It's the guitar I saw all the street buskers in Boston playing that Spring), a Squier Jagmaster for $90, with one serious ding I covered with a band-aid that I now use as a pick holder, and for $90 + shipping, a new telecaster clone from Rondo Music. These are the guitars I kept and have now.
I also bought and resold a Squier strat, a BC Rich something-or-other, an Ibanez Iceman, and an Ibanez Gio Mikro, all of which I sold for more than I paid except the Iceman...I lost $10.
I now have a collection of highly playable guitars I was able to set up and maintain with less than $25 worth of tools. Because I have so little at stake with the lesser models, I'm not afraid to tackle messing with them. Because I play these guitars in public, instead of my prize instruments, these are the guitars I most practice with. The point is, none of these guitars is holding me back in my development.
Regarding amps, when I bought my Gibson in 1978 I got a small ss amp ("nobody will be buying tube amps, anymore," said the salesman.) maybe by Univox, with a nice clean tone and very good reverb. Over time , 30+ years, it had developed scratchy pots. When I decided to start learning to play with bands I didn't know what to do about that & sold it. Big mistake. If I had it to do over, I'd keep it, clean it up and mic it out on gigs.
Since then I had a huge Fender DSP 212 that shook the house when I turned it up almost to 2, a Yamaha THRC that I like, but I'll sell now because I don't need it, a Roland 40GX that I bought new at a discount and 18 months later sold for $15 less than I paid. I just replaced that with a Boss Katana 100 for $300 from Sweetwater, but with 4 years 0% interest financing, I pay $7/month. It can do way more than I need, but I'm still trying to get from it the sound I had on the Univox.
So, to sum it up, if you're asking that question, you're not really developed enough as a guitarist for that to be your priority issue. When you find there's something you need to play that you can't play on a cheap setup, but you can play it on a better one, that's the time to trade up. Until then keep practicing.
And the best quotes I found online to use as a guide:
1. Remember that most of the music you've heard and love, was played on worse equipment than you have now.
2. Practice a lot. Become a terrific player. Let that be your FX.
Why can't you split it 50:50
you can
Joshua Dealy just depends on the budget
I bet 20 odd people tried clicking on 50:50 to see were it goes
Because the video is only 5:00 long...
I was hoping that you'd play in this vid but it's still a good topic vid
I've never thought about it like that.
I just love my 2009 Epiphone Les Paul standard with my newly bought Fender mustang gt 100w. Would love a Gibson Les Paul Studio with a marshal full stack but I just dont have that kind of money.. I'm really hoping to have my dream set up at some point.
Isn't a Les Paul Studio almost half the price of a Standard?
The Gibson lp studio is almost half the price of the Gibson lp standard, but he has an Epiphone, which is just under half the price of the Gibson lp studio
honestly the gibson LP studio is the best value for the money when looking at Gibson guitars
really good playing guitars though bad resell value
based on personal experience a " stack " is very limited in use
I had a marshall stack with a JCM 2000 60 watt head and didn't like how it needed to be loud to sound good
stuck to a 1x12 cab now and sounds great
I'm going with cheap guitar
You can set it up so it feels nice to play, and even change pick up, but you can't change anything on a cheap amp to make it sound better
I got a Jackson Monarkh JS22 and a Laney 15watt amp. And it sounds fabulous 👌
I agree I have a medium range guitar and a 100 dollar amp and I can get great tones fine. Plus with the addition of pedals it sounds awesome.
mid priced for both. The law of diminishing returns says there has to be a sweet spot where the gear is
of pretty darn good quality at an affordable price. So not crap, and not overprice either.
i'll just buy a used guitar. I'm doing it 90% of the time and I'm finding AMAZIMG guitars for dirt cheap, examples are my 1993 Ibanez RG450 (made in Japan) and EX170 and a 1995 Fender Richie Sambora Strat (made in Mexico). and then i can save more money and have a nice amp.
but my guitars sound great on my Digitech RP70 on Mixer mode with my headphones
Hey but if you’ve been playing for a good 5 maybe 10 years and you had to go on a deserted island with one outlet at that point what would you choose
I love when a hollow body or semi sound really good acoustic too. The Godin Kingpin is a great example of a guitar that has great tones pluged in and unpluged. I do not like the sounds of a lot of electric solid body guitars without an amp as much.
Omg that riff at 2:25 is beautiful
what is the riffs name ?
i need ANSWERS
Sounds like human nature from m.jackson
Less expensive guitar- d string missing :D
The 5th fret on an A string is equal to a open D string, same with 10 on an E string
D strings are the most expensive, that is why
4 strings was all that dude from the B-52s needed to hold it down (RIP Ricky Wilson)
I'm with you on this that's why my 1st geetar is a ltd flying v 200 got it used for 160 and 40$ amp
I have a mid Guitar (Ibanez Jem Jr and I love it) and a Fender mustang lt25 for 150$ both really good🔥🤘
1 dollar amp and 2 dollar guitar
Of course the PRS fanboy would say expensive guitar.
What desk is that you're using? It's cool.
Agreed. Played a '60 reissue les paul through a cheap amp and felt like Pagey. Started on a Taylor 110, and haven't been able to put it down.
goddamit at least plug the guitars on the amp and string both guitars properly so we can compare correctly!
Depends on what you are doing! if you are gigin' amp all the way is more important. For home....guitar all the way. For me you can replace amps but never replace guitars.
The Vox Mini 3 G2 has been my main amp since i started in 2017. It sounds great for the price, especially when on the floor, if you put it elsewhere you absolutely lose the lower frecuencies.
Hey, if you still have that cheap guitar I’d love to have it if you no longer want it! It looks so cool!
Good guitar and no amp, welcome to 2018 where all you need is a computer with software that emulates the sounds of the highest end amps and pedals.
you need an audio interface for that, and studio monitors if you have no headset. not to mention if you don"t have enough ram and a decent cpu you'll have latency issues too.
Gergő Rétvári and its terrible live. Even if you're u get a good tone, imagine being on a guitarist on a stage with no amp behind you lmao it would look wierd
@@alistairhomewood7344 well, who would use that for live? it makes no sense.
@@gergoretvari6373 yeh but this person is saying u dont need an amp which u do
@@alistairhomewood7344 do you think he meant that it applies to live situations too? because i take it that he refers to home usage only. Let's be real. I do believe that he only meant for home usage, because a lot of guitarist don't play live. Especially not after the Corona.
Not trying to rile anyone up - or *puts on sunglasses* AMP I?
Okay, I'll go away now
Well I have a beginners guitar amp that was about twenty five dollars and I still bring it out to play it sometimes and it can make a really nice clean tone.
That guitar sounds amazing! But you are the most amazing guitar player though.. Much love from Australia!
Expensive guitar and expensive amp
Thank me later
I'm saving money for an HSS Strat, which I'm going to purchase, in the future. Thanks for the advises.
Why are the strings so loose on your second guitar?
Yeh I love the feel of a stray so I’m getting a squire affinity strat and I’m gonna mod it up. That with a katana mini
Which amp should I buy vox, marshall ,fender or..... please guide me
I always prefer mid-range expanzive guitar, because you never know, if you'll even play your amp on your koncert and cheap amps are very good nowadays. I mean like the Vox with real amp in the preamp and with modeling functions. And these things are also really nice to look at. That Vox that you were showing in the video is an amazing amp considering it's prize.
Well I want a better amp for better sounds, but What do you do when your about to play? Do you pick your guitar first or the amp? The guitar is very common.
A solar a2.6 (600dlls) is a expensive guitar? I have a zombie joyo and a maxon 808dd overdrive and telecaster 70s squier fender, do i have a good gear?
Sorry for my english.
what is the song he played with cheap guitar? its so beautiful.
My first amp was not an amp at all. I used an aux cable with a 1/4 adapter. I plugged it into the microphone port on my laptop and had it play through my speakers.
I have a squier standard strat and a vox vt20x. My squier is just amazing. I got my amp and I've never had a vox before and it was instantly amazing
I have a little peavey 7 watts amp, reasons: I'm a beginner and I just jam in my room
So question
I want a guitar with a floyd rose or a nice whammy, is it a good option with that amp or should a buy a better amp??
I have an Ibanez Gio and a Peavey Vypyr 40 Watt... I usually stick to mid price range for both amp and guitar.
I think it matters where you are on the learning curve. I started on a nice PRS SE.....not cheap I guess but entry level guitar and there’s a lot of room to go up from there. My first amp was a solid state combo POS, then I got a good deal on a 36 watt tube head and 2x12 cab.....my practice time like quadrupled. I couldn’t wait to turn on that amp everyday! As I got better I started to appreciate the feel of better quality instruments.
My first guitar was a $120 bundle pack off Amazon and I got it for my birthday and I've been obsessed with it ever since even though I suck, I know a few songs, and I'm currently trying to convince my mom to get me this Jackson guitar from the pawnshop I've had my eye on for a while 😅
As someone who has only played guitar for only a year now, I prefer expensive amp / cheap guitar. As of recently I got a Orange Brent Hinds amp with the Orange vertical 2x12 and it makes my $200 squire Tele SING! I do plan on getting a higher quality guitar in the future, but I have no real issues with my guitar that make me not want to play it.
I bought a Gibson Les Paul classic as my third guitar, and because my amp is pretty cheap I play it acoustically a lot and am very happy with that, amp really mostly gets used when I'm alone and can play loud
What model is that black “cheap” guitar????
whats the song he played on cheap guitar without amp . so nice to hear
I’m new at guitar so I’m still getting a feel for what is considered good. I’ve got a G&L legacy strat and a genz benz el Diablo 60. Where does that fall on the spectrum?
2:25 what is he playing there? what's the name of it?
do you find it ?
I recently bought a fender 135CE acoustic electric guitar as a guitar to get me started. So far, as a beginner, this $150 guitar has let me do everything I've wanted to do. This was even without an amp. For a beginner getting their first guitar on a budget, I would recommend a little bit more expensive guitar (around $250-$300and no amp or a very cheap guitar (around $150) and a pretty cheap amp (under $100). If anyone would like to correct me leave a reply
I totally agree!
i am running a mid priced, 450 dollar mitchell guitar and feels great and i love playing it but i am running a blackstar 20v amp and i really need to say that im not really getting the tone that i want with it, im thinking of upgrading to a fender mustang gt100 to even it out and well see!
5 years late but what u said at the end about passion will make you pick up a guitar no matter the price was spot on brother. I've been playing since I was 11. I found a strat style guitar at trash dump and slowly fixed it. Have been obsessed every since. I've owned some super cheap guitars and some expensive ones. Some feel better than others but man I'd take the cheapest of the cheap over nothing to play. I love seeing people play with passion so I really appreciate how you said that.
I have a white Squier Bullet Mustang and a Peavey Backstage 50. What am I doing here.
I got the drive I’m playing through a bass amp or unplugged and you still get by but the next thing I buy will be a proper amp mabey a marshal for that classic rock vibe
Hi, first of all I like your channel very much and I'm considering buying a Blackstar ID:60TVP amp and I wanted to ask you if it is in the scale of the expensive amps?
