  • In this video I try to follow Andrew Huberman's science and science based tools and make it into a simple routine that could fit into our daily lives. Andrew Huberman is a neuroscientist and associate professor in Stanford University and makes some really awesome podcasts! It fascinates me how he simplifies complex research data and delivers it in an easy to understand format. Huberman helped me to set my routine straight and do everything based on Neuroscience.
    This video will cover everything starting from Dopamine, Yerba Mate, GLP-1, benefits of fasting on cognition, better sleeping practices and much more!
    I hope you find some value from it and apply some if not all actions into your routine to improve your lifestyle.

    For anyone curious about the breathing technique while running, Huberman says to do the double inhale while at a steady cadence, however when you pick up the pace and are going harder he said to drop that method and breathe in whatever way comes naturally, that body naturally knows the best way to get as much air in as it needs. Also, I don't believe proper cold shower technique involves submerging the head in cold water, when you use cold water keep your head out of the water.

    I’ve been trying to craft a morning routine out of his advice too. Here’s mine:
    1. Wake up, hydrate with salt water ( I take half teaspoon of pink crystals and wash them down with water as though they were pills so that the water doesn’t taste nasty).
    2. Stand outside for ten minutes to get some direct morning light, I manage this at about 8:30, I’m not as early a person as you!
    3. Forward ambulation, also known as walking. This counts as exercise as well as light exposure, so I do a half hour.
    4. Cold shower. I get out and return to the cold water twice to get extra cold. I’ve become a bit desensitised to it, so need to do more to get cold.
    5. Workout. This involves body weight resistance exercises, as I can do that conveniently at home. I do this after the cold shower because I believe the benefits of the workout are blunted when followed with a cold shower.
    6. Meditate. I use the Walking Up app for this, and usually go for twenty minutes.
    That’s about it. I try to ignore caffeine and my phone for the first two hours of being awake, and if I can, I’ll try to be outside for sunset to get that light too. I see an alarm to dim lights and such in the evening. That bit is easy.

      @@meeperbird Well, it's only fair to say that I've been giving up alcohol since 4th September as a three month experiment, I try to resist dopamine-peaking activities much more than I ever did, and I eat my first meal at around most peoples' lunch time, saving carbs till the evening where possible. The last bit is the only thing that has been natural to me though because I have never been a morning person (so don't feel hungry in the am), and I don't ever really crave carbs for some reason. Getting out of bed still takes the significant willpower though, but previously I'd got used to not feeling awake till about 11:00, if that! But after proper cold exposure (which has recently become very easy to achieve in the UK) I feel wide awake. I've learnt that it's impossible to induce shiver and feel sleepy at the same time. This has changed my life somewhat in that my energy kicks in much earlier in the day, and working out in the morning has become a desirable activity in order to warm up! I also do not experience any afternoon crash in energy. This has made me a very energetic person on the whole.
      One thing I need to improve though is my sleep, unfortunately that is quite wretched, despite following the standard Matt Walker advice. So one thing I'm going to experiment with is meditating before bed instead of the morning. This ought to clear more time for morning work and will, I hope, improve my sleep.

      I am trying to become a morning person (6:00 AM as well) by trying to go to sleep much earlier than usual. Will try meditating too before bed, I’m sure it will be beneficial.
      Also, wanted to add, I was of the belief that cold water showers are beneficial post workouts, just like people who take ice baths. Helping with recovery. What is your take on this?

    I'm implementing some of these:
    - Started waking up around 6 am;
    -open all the windows and stare at light just after waking up
    - Delay my coffee till 8 am
    I don't do the cold showers - they give me migranes :( - and I go for my workout session just after my 1st block of productivity (I work in the mornings, go to the gym, have lunch and then start my study session). The gym is less crowded at 12 and it's about the time I start to get lazy ^^'... Exercising this time and taking a 30' nap afterwards gives me the energy to study from 2 pm to 8 pm :D

    Your video is great and you're a really good editor. But here's an advice coming from a man from Europe. Your accent is strong and sometimes I don't understand what word you used so it makes it harder to keep track. Therefore I suggest 2 things.
    1. You might want to put your own captions so it is easier to follow for people who aren't used to strong accents.
    2. You might want to train yourself to have a lighter accent.
    This might sound racist but it's not, the audience likes it soft and easy to digest and your subs will grow faster if people find it easy to digest. We live in a time where everything needs to be easy for most people or they won't even give you attention.
    I think you deserve the subs so please try your best to do one of those things or both. You're going to grow for sure and I'm just trying to help you out because you're obviously trying hard. Good luck bro

    • @vagabhi
      @vagabhi  Год назад +2

      Yeah I absolutely agree with you and it doesn't sound racist
      I'm gonna work on those, thank you soo much for your valuable inputs, I appreciate it!

    Honestly.. Guys.. Please be mature enough to understand that every individual is different, no one can follow other people's daily routine exactly ..
    Don't blindly follow daily routines of your favourite celebrities or people whom you admire... Surely you can take a few tips or ideas from their routines and create your own routine which suits you the best..
    Your daily routine should be according to your body type, metabolism and to what extent your body can handle it..Which can help you to improve your Physical, mental and Emotional health..
    Don't just generalize other people's routines

    • @xevivr

      It's not about following someone routine , u didn't get the whole point , huberman is neuroscientist so he's trying to convey what's better and optimise routine for good mental health as based on research done , not like nowadays influencer ! , moreover science is amazing if u understand thing logically even I'm in medical school I can tell u its valuable for human in long term
