    As I awakened, I found myself needing more and more silence but I had to get into what I was feeling and allow it to be instead of running away, or covering it up with noise as I normally did to try and avoid those feelings… when I finally discovered that my feelings weren’t going to kill me I allowed them to be in the exact opposite of what I feared is what occurred, and that was more peace and stillness, and now I crave being alone and having more quiet time… the exact opposite of what I’ve been most of my life it’s actually a feeling of freedom ❤

      I have never experienced a normal life. I can remember that we moved every 2 to 3 years. I attended 5 different High Schools. I learned to stand up straight and walk into so many different environments so I was always calm, cool and together in any situation that I found myself in. I once experienced in a San Francisco High School that was over half African American hate. I was a blond blue eyed girl with a hour glass body, inherited from my grandmother. Being very active in PE, swimming and running I had nice legs, inherited from my mother. I was unaware of what type body I had or that most male's liked a blue eyed blond body type I was evidently, seen talking to a very nice looking African American male. I was a Tom boy so I always identified with boys more so than girls. I went to class not thinking of anything in particular. After school I walked around the High School to get to the back of it, this is where my mother would pick me up. We lived in the Marina District before the earth quake hit, anyway 5 African American girl's walked right up to me with broken coke bottle's in their hands, that is when the bottle's were made of glass and let me know under no uncertain terms that I was not to talk to African American males or they would cut my face up. That was the first time I experienced racial discrimination. I was not afraid, I stood there looking at them and knew ecstinctivly, not to say a word. I just turned slowly and kept walking towards the road. The girl's let me go I think because I showed no fear, if I had they probably would've kept telling me what they were going to my physical body. I knew some how that I was not the body. My Father believed in Darwinism. We had no bible's or teachings about the ten commandments. We were left with our own interpretation of what life was all about. My Father never talked to us about Darwinism I just happened to over hear a conversation he was having with one of his friends about Darwinism. I did not receive a very good education from the book's in school about how the world supposedly worked. I just had no thoughts about anything, sort of like Sadhguru's little girl, he would not allow anyone to teach her anything when she was young. No rhymes, nothing, like myself. I know by my words that I do not sound very educated and you would be correct but when I was out playing by myself in this huge mote that went around Marina High School where my older sister's went, I always looked around to find the presence I was feeling that was always with me. I have been in some very scary situations and never showed any fear. I'm sixty eight and look like I'm in my forties, or so people tell me. But I don't have wrinkles as I never took anything serious. I did not have stress in my life and I don't know why. I always felt at home in my body no matter where we moved to. There was nine of us in total, my mom kept trying for the boy she so desperately wanted. And she did have that boy at last in her mid thirties. He was her whole world... Sorry I kept going on with some of my life's experiences. That was not a plug for Sadhguru, lol! I love all teachers who are living in the present. I have been exposed to and learned such alot from every one of them. Echart Tolle is my favorite one!! Much love to you both Echart Tolle and Kim Eng!!

      Thanks for sharing your story. So, are you saying you just naturally feel little or no fear? does that include normal mental stress? I mean if you have an interview or need to do a presentation for instance at work, do you also feel comfortable in thise situations? I mean, not just the obvious scary physical encounters, which normally produce fear, not a bad thing, adrenaline etc is required sometimes right? but a lot of stress and fear is self sabotaging and often there is no actual reason or benefit to stress and fear, it’s often a hinderance.
      Would you say that in all stressful circumstances, late for work, or having to confront someone regarding an awkward situation, these daily events that can be difficult, so undesirable that they are often avoided (in my case) altogether. If so, would you say your life, with all the changes and challenges taught you that? Or would you say that was already there, in you, so to speak?

    Sometimes IT runs away and then I have to look for IT but just a moment, a look away, and I can take ITS hand again and go home.

    Even in the madness of everyday worldliness, I know I'm never alone.
    We are never alone.
    We can deal with anything.
    Life is really wonderful if only from behind the door you can see it.

    Thank you Eckhart ❤️ The messages youve shared with the world have been such an inspiration, and I feel so much graditide towards you. For a long time, I was very, very heavily unconcious, and was living through an absolutely atrocious pain body, where a lot of destruction and suffering occurred. Over the last decade or so, I have started to wake up from that. I bought your book, the power of now a year or two ago, and within it I found deep truth, and peace. I am still having to make an effort towards, and remind myself to come back into the here and now, and to be mindful of old patterns, but anyway, I cant thank you enough, from the bottom of my heart for helping me to find peace, you are truly a beautiful human being.

    Some takeaways:
    The mastery of life consists of being able to operate on the level of form, thinking and doing and at the same time not losing touch with the awareness, the stillness
    Don't loose yourself in the form identity which millions of people do, what happens in their mind, completely identified with that. That's the unconscious state.
    As far as your life situation concerns, the strange thing is it's often when things are not going well on the level of form that you are more likely to discover the dimension of essence.

    Sense perceptions, thoughts, images, and emotions make up your life.
    You must be conscientious for them to arise.
    Spiritual awakening is when you no longer react to these items above. These items are consciousness disguised in forms, give you identity.
    You are spiritually awaken when you are aware of consciousness, formless dimension, being.
    Stillness is a beautiful pointer.

    I don't feel like I am very light, I am constantly getting pulled into thoughts and judgements..each news story, personal interchanges with my partner, etc. I would like to see some stability as far as my focus is concerned. I catch myself often but it is always with non- surrender to what has just happened, so things just take a lot longer to process. In and out and in and out of conscious being.

    Please pray for me and my children. I know Jesus is coming soon. I will keep faith. I will lay my fears upon the Lord! As a single mother I’m overwhelmed at times because both of my children are autistic. I’m desperately struggling trying to support them my husband passed years ago. Since covid I’ve been struggling. I lost my job as a social worker at Forsyth hospital because I declined the vaccine. I declined because of my pre existing health condition lupus and heart disease. I was denied my medical/religious exemption. I’m waitressing and I’m so THANKFUL to be working again, but I’m not making nearly enough to make ends meet. I also started homeschooling my boys due to them having many issues including bullying so my hours to work are limited. But even as I struggle every month to pay rent and to buy groceries and even though I’m ashamed because of my situation. I have faith that God will provide. He has this far. Faith is truly the key. Please pray for me and my children. GOD BLESS!😊❤

      My dear sister, i came accross this quite by accident as i dont usually follow mr tolle. I read what u wrote and immediately felt that i shud do a prayer for u and ur two boys. I am so glad that u refused the highly toxic experimental vac. I prayed for you and your family to be provided with abundantly. Rest assured it is done. Just maintain the faith that its done.     I signed up and paid for Become a Teacher of Presence. This class is from May 21 through October. I paid 1095 on May 17th. The class did not start on the 21st. There is no more information available. What is going on with this class?

    I love your wisdom, books and videos.
    I have a question I have struggled with for ages. I get that spritual awakening and being totally in the present and silence your mind and ego is a good thing.
    However, the mind is really necessary in several parts of life, especially work if you do some heavy intellectual work like research.
    My problem is how to combine the two.
    Often when I heavily use my mind, thinking about some research problems, my mind and ego starts trying to scare and distract me, making up stories about how I will never understand this, how it is useless and so on. A lot of distracting thoughts. If I was not working I could practice your teachings and try to be fully aware and silence the mind and be present, but in this case I really need the mind and cannot silence it.
    So the question is how to use the mind, but still avoid the negative side effects of the ego when using it?

      There was a video posted 6 videos ago, ":How can I work fast and be present at the same time?" It seems like that could apply. Do you have a meditation practice? (The first vid in my playlist is what worked fr me 7-8 years ago. The idea is to practice this, and over time -- months? -- the familiarity gained through this guided observation, individuating your self in the moment from your self thinking in the moment becomes more who you are, spontaenously knowing the difference; a default mode you can be in without formal meditation.).
      To me, what you describe is being too identified with the challenge, the topic, the details, etc. You can pour yourself into something without losing yourself. It doesn't have to be either/or. I think that meditation practice would help individuate you that way, so you always know the difference. It should even help with the challenge because all that mental activity (that you'll never figure it out, that you've overlooked something, etc.) can be used more consciously for the task (more certainty, organization of the details, openness to seeing new things). The task, no matter how much thought it requires, just "is what it is." The self-talk about your self won't add anything to what it is (likely takes away from what it is).

      If you have a real meditation practice (something you've been practicing with a purpose) you should be able to notice things like "I'm contracted, all the muscles in my body clenched, a coiled snake; I'm not breathing, I'm thinking about things that don't need to be thought about. They're hitching a ride on this activity I have to be consumed with." You can set periodic reminders on your phone to stop and have a moment of stillness, breathe.
      I think breathing has a very strong correlation to how our minds work. When you get wrapped up in the inner narrative (whether it's for a purpose, or idle chatter), you breathe shallow, like _hoarding_ breath. You don't fully let go, and take another. We keep sipping air, holding on to a portion of past breaths. That's what we do in our mind, not letting go of the past moment, carrying it into the next moment(s). With your task, you have to carry knowledge/info into the next moment. But, you also have to know what info is important, what can be let go (won't help in the next moment as you pursue more info). If you notice you're not breathing, you're probably hoarding in a story-telling (personalized, over-identified) fashion too. If you have periodic reminders to check your state, you may find that you flush/reset your breath, and your mind will too. (You're obviously not going to forget everything you're working on. It will be more like "hoarding my breath doesn't serve any purpose. Nor does over-personalizing, identifying with this activity." You'll have these moments of getting back to the task, making it less hard for yourself because it's not you, it's a task you do. Who you are doesn't depend upon it.).

      I do a daily meditation practice in the morning. This really helps a lot to reduce anxiety in general.
      I very much recognize what you write about breathing. It is true that if I get tense and too much stuck into my task, the breathing becomes shallow and unnatural.
      So that is a good warning sign to keep track on..
      I think I have watched the video "How can I work fast and be present" some time ago, but I probably have forgotten most of the content, so I will rewatch it.
      There are some advice that I have seen that I have a problem putting together. This "being in the present" and be aware of your feelings and thoughts is a good thing of course.
      But then we have the so called flow state, which is often considered the ideal productivity state, where you are totally focused on the task at hand, without distractions, and it feels really good. This is also a form of being in the present, but you are focused on the task and just indirectly on your feelings.
      It is almost impossible to be aware of your thoughts and feelings while thinking, though, as I see it, at least if you are thinking in the flow state where the thoughts takes up your full attention and you cannot be aware of them at the same time. If you start beeing aware of your feelings and thoughts, you break the flow state, just as thinking will break your precence of beeing fully aware.
      So my problem is that thinking in the flow state seems to be in a contradiction to be fully present and aware of your thoughts and feelings. Going into the flow state is very much like loosing yourself, but in a good way, as I see it. But the more you let go of being present the more risk there are of getting cought by the mind in some negative thinking.
      But I think what you write is still the right path somehow. When you practice to become more aware in general you slowly get rid of negative thinking patterns, or at least are able to not engage in those thoughts. When working and thinking in that semi aware state for some time, the flow state might occur more often as a result of your less forced thinking.

      @@TheIllerX The breathing part (shallow) is almost like a greedy, grasping, clinging breathing. I always get the mental image (when I notice I'm doing it) of Smeagol/Gollum of Lord of the Rings ("my precious...."). It's literally holding on to what's not needed for some reason that is satisfying. The oxygen's consumed, and co2 causes the hypercapnia response (a subconscious panic to breathe more). It's like we toy with this "just enough" state below panic instead of freely giving up what we don't need. It's like we want to live at that edge of stress. We do the exact same thing with thoughts (the past). Most of the stuff we reflexively ruminate on (without even knowing it) serves no purpose other than to make us feel bad. It's like we're bored and have to create excitement for ourselves.
      This reminds me of a tedx talk by Sam Chase (Paying Attention & Mindfulness). He talks about an experiment where people were put in a room alone for 15 minutes with a button that would shock them if they pressed it. They were told that it would't shorten the time. A majority pressed it at least once. Many pressed it multiple times. One person pushed it 190 times in 15 minutes.
      It seems like we prefer suffering, discomfort, more than the passing moments. A sense of control ("it hurts so good..."). I have something else to say in another reply.

      @@TheIllerX I don't know enough about your meditation practice, but I'm hearing a couple things that make me want to emphasize. 1) Meditation should be something that is like training wheels, and turns into (with practice) always being there in that state (or able to get there without ideal conditions, formal ritual). People often think of meditation as stopping at the gas station to top off the tank ("now I'm good for 200 miles..."). A "recharge." Like eating a meal. You don't spend the next few hours between meals imagining that you're still eating, practicing proper eating after the ritual of eating. You eat, then go do soemthing else (and that meal contributed to your sated state. Start to feel incomplete again? eat again). Very either/or activities. "I'm meditating, and then I'll ...." Meditation should be something that you can/should do all day long. Not just down-time to recharge, and then off to wherever the day leads (with a hope that the meditation makes it better).
      2) The type of meditation is important for this. There is meditation to develop focus & concentration (samadi) called "samatha-bhavana." The meditation I think you should be doing is vipassana (insight). The one I guided meditation I referred to is that kind. The goal of this meditation is more clearly to develop the ability to observe (individuate "me in the moment" from "me thinking, explaining, expecting in the moment." Not "trying" to do anything. Just being and observing what is. The more familiar you are of thoughts as they enter the mind, and choosing not to give a thought attention right now (not judging it, just "not now") the more you can be there (observing, aware) while doing the dishes, walking the dog, in a meeting at work. This is very different than what people often think of as meditation (a recharge and then leave that behind). It's more about developing a familiarity that is always there. The formal meditation is training wheels. Eventually (after practicing for some time, gaining insight into how your mind works) you can ride around all day more "there."
      Considering your emphasis on concentration, and how you think but not think, I wouldn't be surprised if you're practicing something more one-pointed/concentration like doing pushups to be more prepared for the day?

      It's not strange. It's being present & aware. You're describing _recognizing_ what's happening. The opposite of _believing_ what's happening is real, and explaining it to yourself as being due to "that guy sitting over there," (or what happened 20 years ago). In the 1960s there was a popular cartoon called "Mr. Magoo." Over 100 episodes. All the same thing: Magoo in various settings, expecting it to be something it wasn't. (Everyone thought it was about poor eyesight. That was an understatement, IMO.).
      It should not be strange that you more quickly realize, "wait a second, I'm doing Magoo again... I'm overlooking something right now...." and then you see things differently (because you broke the habit of identifying more and more with what's "not going well." Explaining it to yourself in a predictable fashion.).
      That's the common theme. It's simple, yet profund.

    Why do so many people post the same comment on virtually every video, begs the question, are there more genuine commenters or more advisers and people trying to sell something to genuine posters? 🙏🙏🙏🙏

      I've seen the same thing on other awakening channels where the comments sounded fake, or predictable. Either fawning, or an inner circle of insiders posing as fawning (in infomercials these are "plants." Social media, which yt *is,* is not far from the qualities of infomercial-level psychology ("influencing" for more views, more capture of attention). And then there appeared to be other awakening-related channels to that would post a comment (same one all the time), wildly thumb-uped ( _every_ time). Compared to something like auto repair, the nature of comments on awakening channels seem not quite right. The only one that stands out to me as right is Moojii. He disables comments on everything. :) That's unusual compared to other topical realms of yt. But, this topical realm seems unusual in other ways in which Moojii's choice looks like the credible one.
      I'm skeptical of all these social-media enabled teachers. I don't think they're wrong. But, a person can be right *and* predatory ("ends justify the means" form of thinking. "I'm awakened. How could I do anything self-interested?").
      I think I know what you're referring to, but I see it (oddly) in this venue of channels. It doesn't seem unusual here (but does compared to almost any other venue of channels, non-awakening). I don't know if it's unhealthy "manifestation" (manufactured, astro-turf teacher worship?). Something always seems off to me (even though I know the message is 100% true.). Maybe awakened people go too far toward the social side of it (the "brand")? Unlike the auto-repair people. (You don't see the Hyundai guys subtly promoting their brand on Toyota repair forums. Building "rep" on some other brand's forum.).

      @@markfuller I see fake Eckhart and his hit me texts is back,, eventually the scammers and the sellers will out number the genuine posters so heavily that they will drive all the genuine posters away to other sites leaving only the scammers and sellers on this site and once there is no more genuine people left for the scammers and sellers to feed off they too will move on to pastures new in search of fresh meat to feast upon. Short sighted by the site to allow this to happen in the first place in my opinion 🙏🙏🙏🙏

      @@johngreen4683 I thought I noticed something change 4-6 weeks ago regarding the "hit me up" Eckhart impostor. It has definitely seemed as if Eckhart's social-media admin has been banning those users when seen (leading to the impostor/spammer getting a new id. They start replying, and within hours or a day on the weekends(?) the replies disappear to.). I never saw that until just recently. The impostor always seemed to operate with impunity. For a few months, I suspected there was some collusion with Eckhart's org. "Renting" the comment space out for "manifesting" more cha-ching (I can be cynical that way). More monetizing the "brand." We know it's human nature to turn into that. I don't think I was _too_ cynical. It was troubling to see no concern for fans being preyed upon. I definitely noticed something change recently. There can be a day when nothing happens. But, it used to be literally nothing happened (ever). It seems like someone's doing something lately (but, they're not always there watching, especially the weekends?).
      IMO, it would be better if Eckhart had a forum on his site. It could be more custom moderated, and by community members. Could even leverage community members to translate talks into other langues (there's always people asking for that. I'm sure there's fans who would do it if the platform existed to enable that kind of participation.).
      IMO, if he wouldn't do that, I wouldn't have comments on social media (I think Mooji is the smart one, disabling what is largely noise, "reactions.").

    Let's break this down as I see it. All very repetitive. We are all already AWARE of our past and now and the future but what is Quote; " that formless dimension within yourself" ie "formless" ie without a clear or definite shape, and, "dimension" being either linear measurement or physical quantity. It's impossible to have a dimension that is formless. Surely the teacher is not using formless dimension as his interpretation of a source, a source that he has never explained in real terms. It's also impossible to have/hold a meditation on THE NATURE of CONSCIOUSNESS because Consciousness is an Entity, entity being, with its own distinct and independent existence. Therefore Life Mastery ie Time, Career, Spirituality,Physical Body, Relationships etc cannot control an Entity even if you're conscious of it. Hello! What is the source in real terms.
