- A preserved Royal Navy Westland Wessex HU5 and Royal Air Force Sea King HC4 (search and rescue helicopters) take off from the Royal International Air Tattoo 2022. They were followed by an Augusta Bell 47 that was with the British Army and a Robinson R44 sneaking in there at the end.

Brought back some great memories of being winched up by a Royal Navy Wessex at RNAS Portland and flying in 72 Squadron Wessexes at RAF Odiham in the late 1979's. Thanks for sharing.
How lovely to see and hear these two great war horses. Pure classics 👍
Oh it really is wonderful. Had to wait around to experience these. Nice bit of a draft on a sunny day too!
@@CobraEmergency lucky you... 🙂
It’s great to see these in action, they will be missed 😁😁
Awesome! Wessexes also served down here with the Royal Australian Navy for a long period of time 🚁 💪
If I remember I think they are based in Somerset. Great to see the old whirly birds flying again. Miss seeing them in the skies
My all time favourite helicopters
It's 30 years ago I jumped on a RAF Wessex from Bessbrook to fly to RAF Aldergrove for R&R
30 years! Hopefully this brought back some good memories, and that it was a good rest you had.
We use to have Wessex rescuer choppers at HMS Daedalus Lee On The Solent, Gosport flying over the Solent.
Oh a Huey ❤️ Bulky boy but one of my favourites next to a Lynx. My father worked for Westland in Yeovil Somerset back in the day which made me lucky having the chance to sick my nose into some great choppers.
Another great video thanks 🙏👌👌👌
Thanks Sandy!
Love those machines. Breaks my heart. My son and daughter are plane fans too but we couldn't buy tickets to RIAT. Why? Well it was either RIAT or going without food. So, although I'm sad, the decision was right and straightforward, Thanks, Boris.
Seakings and Wessex helicopters. Miss them flying in the skies.
Same 🥲
Great stuff
Thank you! Is that a B52 I see in your profile picture?
@@CobraEmergency yes at fairford
@@Baseloiter Thought so! Miss seeing them.
ONE of my favourite planes HELICOPTERS....... 🙂........ LUCKY YOU! you three are making me jelly again! and i am grumpy 😛 (Just kidding! 🙂)
Anyway Steven, Chris and Cameron, i hope that you three have an amazingly awesome day today and everyday...... stay safe, protected and blessed always..................
Fantastic!
It’s simple times of the past jumping onto the ground in a Wessex somewhere we all know the bullets fly but we don’t talk about it…the workhorse….always free always vigilant
Remember the Riptide series from the 80ies ... ?
The Screaming Mimi.
Had sar Wessex at manston from 1974-1988 then sea king 1988-1994
Goooo 202 Sqn "D" flight RAF Lossie 84 to 86 😎👍
202 Sqn now uses the Juno, but I can imagine the Sea King was very fun back then. Shame not to see them around anymore.
@@CobraEmergency it was mate, happy memories of being "pushed out" over the Moray Firth and rescued, just for practise fun lol
@@tonyf9076 Haha, nothing like fond memories of being pushed out of a heli! Gotta practice and have fun too.
In aviation parlance deep joy machines
Left skid low!
A footballer bloke gets 5000 a week and these guys don't. Where is the justice. Ffs
Sorry, 500, 000
I see lots of Tamendak fish.😆
