    I just listened to this for the third time. I realized that this is how we are going to prevail over the wickedness in this world. This is also why President Nelson is so positive about the future. As we rise to the levels of spirituality that you have discussed, we will truly see many miracles. 🙏✨

    I love these missionary lessons. Something popped out and smacked me this time reading: the difference between Ammon's mission and his brothers. Ammon taught through his serving, literally being a servant to the king. His example and testimony became a catalyst; his example as a believer is what converted. His brothers went and preached. They were also successful, but the journey was definitely harder. Honest, loving service, getting to know and love the people. Then the Spirit was able to teach the lessons.

      I love your comment! Truly, the power of Christ like love, the love that was used to describe how these missionaries felt about their work, was and is power in great glory!

    The past few weeks I've been studying places where the scriptures speak of entering into the rest of the Lord. It's been interesting to discover how often these scriptures are closely tied with others that speak of the mysteries. I believe that when we read of the mysteries, that this is temple language, as it is in the temple that the faithful begin to understand more of God's mysteries. I began to wonder if the 'rest of the Lord' doesn't just refer to a cessation of work, but a state of knowledge. Think of the word 'rest' in its other context, as, the remainder. If you read scriptures about the Lord's 'rest' with this context in mind, it's amazing how much sense they make, especially as they relate to receiving God's mysteries.
    So in essence, we can receive what is common to man, such as the scriptures and things spoken of in general conference. But if we prepare our hearts and minds, we can receive the 'rest' of it, in the temple and as revealed to us via the Holy Ghost, personal revelation, and the eventual rending of the veil to see the face and know the mind of God. I believe this is why the prophets are urging us to be in the temple, to discover the rest. Gives new meaning to President Nelson's story of the little boy noticing the altar as a place of rest, doesn't it?
    Maybe some crazy thoughts, but they resonate with me and make sense to my mind.

      I love it, I agree. I think also it could mean that we no longer are tempted by Satan, and that we've put off the natural man. I long for that day!

    • @elizabethpeterson9914
      @elizabethpeterson9914 4 дня назад

      @@JanellVasquez I'm glad you brought that up. I've personally found that as I've increased my temple attendance, I've received increased strength to resist Satan. Not saying I'm perfect but temptations that used to so easily beset me now seem a non-issue. It seems like the promise that our yoke will be easy and our burdens light, is already beginning to take place. I don't want to give the impression that I think I'm all that, but I have had a lot of personal growth in the past few years as I've been really striving to keep all my covenants and submit my heart and will to God.
      In the end, what I'm saying is, we don't have to wait. God will help us put off the natural man now. He give us that help and rest now. Yes, it's part of a process, but I believe we can receive a lot more in this life than many of us dream.

    I often think regarding my own self that it means giving up not only big sins but little tiny itsy bitsy ones. Negative thoughts, critical thoughts, lazy thoughts and such actions.
