Big Ramones fan from the beginning. I saw them in '77 and bought all the early stuff up till Plesant Dreams. It's Alive, a live record from 1977 recorded in London released in '79 was great as well. I did get Ramones Mania and Acid Eaters but with the line-up changes, I kind of lost interest. Still, one of the most influential bands of all time. I'm always amazed that they never made it big and were always put down during their career but you always hear their songs being played at Sports Stadiums across the country and endless commercials on television. Amazing!

I should've known you got to see them in the early days! Damn you Tarr! Hahaha. Yeah I guess I didn't mind the drummer changes as much as when Dee Dee left. That felt like the end of the band for me. He was too integral to the band to just replace him. No disrespect to CJ but Dee Dee is irreplaceable. having said that I'd be curious what you'd think of Mondo Bizarro. Have you ever heard anything from it?

@@STEVEHEROLD I never owned Mondo Bizzaro but I did hear it on a college radio station once. It wasn't something I would buy but I did see their last tour they did in 1996.

I enjoyed your personal rundown of one of America's greatest bands ! I got into them late, also.. once Cd's became a thing. " Pleasant Dreams" is a good album, I agree ! Dee Dee was such an important part of the band, great shout out for him ! ✌️ Makes me want to listen to.. RAMONES !

isn't it crazy how influential they are and how popular they have become when during their time they couldn't barely sell records. i always think of that moment in the great doc End of the Century where they show them playing to sold out stadiums in south america and then return to the states and play tiny clubs. thanks for tuning in JT. Always appreciate ya checking in.

Great collection! Got into them when I was 11 in 1995. Bought all their 14 studio records (and live records/comps/solo projects) over the next 5-7 years.
Coincidentally, my copy of Acid Eaters was also purchased through a record club! lol. Definitely at the bottom of their list for me though
I like to love every Ramones record though. Mondo Bizarro near the bottom for me, but still plenty of great songs. My favourites are definitely Leave Home and Rocket to Russia.
Two album worth grabbing you haven't already:
Dee Dee Ramone I.C.L.C - I Hate Freaks Like You. A 1994 album that was Dee Dee's first after returning to his punk roots. They re-recorded a couple of songs from it for Adios Amigos ("Making Monsters for my Friends" and "It's Not For Me To know".
Bad Chopper - S/T (2007) - A CJ Ramone band that was produced by Daniel Rey and features Walter Lure on a lot of lead (and members of Out Cold). Probably the best solo/Ramones side-project of them all).

Hey Richard. Thanks for tuning in. Yeah Acid Eaters is definitely bottom for me. Although I def like Mondo more than you but I know most fans are not crazy about it. I'll have to look into those albums you mentioned. I was so bummed when Dee Dee died. I think he had a gig that summer in NYC I was thinking of going to. it might've been focusing on his art work or maybe one of his books. I can't remember. Thanks again, great to hear from ya!

Great Ramones collection and I can see a lot of what I own on the shelves behind you. I own their debut, End of the Century, Ramones Mania and Weird Tales of the Ramones. I got to see them one time at Lollapalooza in ‘96.

Steve Ninja! Great to hear from ya dude. Yeah I'm sure our music collections have a lotta overlap. I used to have Weird Tales but sold it off which I kinda wish I hadn't. There's a lotta records/CDs I can say that about these days. That's cool ya got to see them. I kick myself for never getting the chance. We just took them for granted I guess that they'd always be around.

@@STEVEHEROLD yes, I think that a lot of people assumed that they would be around longer than 20 years and it’s shock that all of the original lineup are gone. Joey didn’t look he was in great health that day. Yes, Weird Tales is a bulky boxset.

Recently I bought Pleasant Dreams NYC Mixes and Pleasant Demos. Both on vynl. The NY Mixes its better than the original in my opinion.

I almost picked up the NYC Mixes last summer. I still have it on my list so maybe one day I'll grab it. I think I mentioned in this video I always liked Pleasant Dreams and Subterranean Jungle which I know not a lot of people do.

@@STEVEHEROLD I love Pleasant Dreams as well. The NYC mix for me is the best version. RAW. The Pleasant Demos is amazing as well.

@@STEVEHEROLD Amazing album! As you, my introduction to them was Mania and Loco Live, back in 1991. What I like the most is the speed. I recommend!
