This works like a charm. For those who have more messages, you might have to wait a little at the Preparing..0%. For me it was 1.8gb of data and it took 27mins to go from Preparing..0% to Preparing..1% and then after a while (6-7 mins) it directly went to you’re almost done. So people who have more messages, could possible delete unimportant messages in their old phone, do a backup and then transfer to iOS.

@@hamisulh Hi, my whats app Back up had an amound of 15 GB, before transfer i deleted a lot of old stuff an some big Videos, i did that manually, chat by chat. Before that it was 19 GB big. Than i started the transfer to my new iPhone and it worked verry well. It took less time that i expected. Most time was taken by "preparing", maybe 30 - 45 Minutes?

Thank you. It works. Important thing is NOT TO TURN OFF your Android BEFORE you have activated WhatsApp on iPhone. Because once the general transfer on Android is finished you could easily think it is all over. But it is NOT! Android needs to stay ON and close so that WhatsApp from iPhone can transfer completely. Otherwise you have to reset iPhone again, and wait another couple of hours , to give it another try;) ;) ;)
It worked finally, after many failed attempts. For me the solution was restarting the android device. I had an error where it was preparing the backup for whatsapp for hours and after it got to 4% it showed an error that the transfer was cancelled and I had to restart the whole process. Hope this is helpful for someone else

It worked!! But you have to be patient. The first two times i tried i gave up because it was stuck on 0% preparing but then i saw many videos and read many comments and decided to give it a final try. I deleted some of the unnecessary stuff and tried it and to my surprise in about 12-13 mins it went from 0% preparing to almost done and then everything happened as shown in the video. Note- 1. Your android device version should be 10 or above( just an observation from different comments) 2. Even if the second process shows 2 mins it will take longer than that so don’t give up.
Thank you very much. I watched a lot of videos about "Move to IOS" and other tips but you're the only one who've mentionned to update the IOS software.
It works but took several hours. 1) If you've used your Iphone for awhile already and you have to factor reset your iPhone, make sure to backup your data (pictures, contacts, notes, files, etc.) to iCloud drive. 2) I suggest purchasing the 200 gb iCloud storage for a month just to save all your data. You can cancel the storage subscription anytime. Worth the sacrifice. 3) I had difficulties with preparing the Whatsapp data for transfer. I got unknown error 10x. I almost gave up. But I realized I had to sacrifice some media data in Whatsapp in the android. So, I deleted some videos from the Whatsapp storage. I tried transferring again and it took 5 mins to finish. 4) Afterwards, input the old Apple ID again and you get all your data back. You just gotta re-install the Messenger, Viber, FB, Instagram, etc. again.
I am doing now and it took half hr to show 1%..so should I cancel and go delete some whatsapp media first..I use whatsapp for work and many chats which i cannot delete..my whatsapp has 16GB..will it take like forever? :((
@@primasi yes! I just updated whatsapp on the android phone and made sure the software was also up to date and then I think it worked. I can't really remember. See if you can clear some videos too before migrating it

I basically never put I like in a video, but you my friend deserve it, it is super important to do exactly as you said, (I bought an iPhone 15 and I though it must have the latest software version) but it didn't and it wasn't working at the beginning. @@ZayyanAjaz you can always create a local backup on Android and restore it there if something goes wrong on the transfer. My WhatsApp data is 16GB so it’s not feasible to see if I lost anything, but I don’t think I lost anything.

I moved my phone and the whole thing just stopped. Had to reset my iphone twice. This method works but is insane that this is the solution to transfer data from a phone to another in 2022.
Sorry I've tried this multiple times. but when the data is transferring it stops at a certain percentage and just freezes. I sometimes will leave the phones alone for hours ( 5 hours at one time). But when a percentage freezes it just get's stuck there. Nothing so far has helped. I hope others find this video helpful tho.

Hope this comment is useful for many users trying to attempt this. My phone (OP9R) was also stuck at 0% forever. You have to just plug in charger on both devices and wait wait wait. I waited around 1.5 hours and suddenly it went from 4% to ready after being stuck at 0% for almost half an hour. My whatsapp data was close to 11 GB. I'm now on Move to iOS stage and now that transfer has been going on for the past 1.5 hours again. Its a long and tiresome process but I just hope it goes through. 1 Minute remaining. Will update with a reply based on progress.
Update 2: Remember that 1 minute that was left on Move to iOS progress bar? Well, that took around 12 minutes to reach the finished stage on both devices. Thereafter I setup my iphone further and I chose to sync my apps as available. Then I had to login to whatsapp and enter verification code and 2 factor authentication. Now the phone is at a stage with "Moving Chats from Android Screen". Phone has become hot from all the work but still at 72% after 15 minutes or so. Remember, I have 11 GBs of Whatsapp data. I now think I should have invested some time clearing it so that this transfer wouldn't have been the huge pain that it was. Maybe you should do that if you have a lot of data and are planning on trying out this method. Also, I'm yet to see my Android chats on this iPhone 13 Pro. Will post an update shortly. Side note for heavy whatsapp users: Whatsapp Web Desktop app was signed out as well. So at this stage, if it doesn't work, I'm not sure what'll happen to my chats on my old phone.
After what seemed like an eternity, its done! I have my messages and media from my Android (OP9R) to my iPhone 13ProMax and I wasn't even on 15.6. I was on 15.5. :) Thank you Tips to fix!

After waiting for months finally I get that option too! I'm transferring from Huawei P40 to iPhone 13 Pro. So I followed through the video.. Great video btw! However i realize when my ios prompted the 6 digits code. The iPhone just decided to switch to cellular data out of no reason. I was practically sitting right in front of my modem to ensure good WIFI connectivity. It makes no sense to switch to cellular. And then the move to iOS app in android got stuck at "Preparing... 0%..." I removed the simcard in iPhone and restart the process. Now, the iPhone sticks to connecting to WIFI. After the 6 digits stage, my android was still showing "preparing... 0%..." I panicked a little but suddenly it just pops out "ready". Then everything from there was pretty much the same with your video. Geez I really do not understand why Apple products have to make everything tougher than usual.

@@mahmoudsaad8955 Oh mine was just 200mb. I waited 2mins. My devices were all connected to same wifi and i removed the simcards in the ios because the ios just switched to data on its own..
I removed the simcard again in hope that it'd work out for me as well... unfortunately as soon as I click on Move Data from Android it loses connection to the WIFI anyway... I'm frustrated. I wanted to have an uncomplicated small phone. Ugh.

Same here! When I first saw that "Apps & Data" screen I was certain I could do it later. It's really poor that there's no warning that you cannot do this afterwards.
Finally, like everyone, I also have WhatsApp option. But when I choose WhatsApp and proceed to 'getting chats ready' part, it goes from 0 to 1, from 1 to 2 in an hour and then it says ''your WhatsApp data transfer has been cancelled' and then goes back to Transfer Data page :( Do you have any suggestion?
can you please restart your modem Wi-Fi ? or use another Wi-Fi network , if its not strong signal data transferred using Wi-Fi will be interrupted , so please find a place with strong Wi-Fi , or stay closer to the Wi-Fi router. I hope this was helpful

I have got the same problem, but instead of making progress, it keeps stuck in the %0. After a while, it says canceled or not responding. My data is not that huge, only 4-5 gb btw.

Hello yes there are a lot cases like this reported here , what i thing in my opinion maybe will be the space in Android phone , can you check and see if your phone is 100% space used ? Can you release some space ? Clear android cache with any software ? Or delete some old videos from your gallery , just release some GB space , and repit the process again, let me know if this was helpful
Hi I was facing the same problem for a week now. Today I experimented and changed my android phn to my dad’s phn. First I took a back up of WhatsApp on my phn then I started WhatsApp on my dad’s phn and after that I took a back up on his phn then I started the move to ios app Frm his phn to my new iPhone. It took hours and was stuck on 0% but without moving forward the transfer completed and my chats got transferred.

@@sarthak1314 it took three episodes of friends. Also it never went beyond zero. It was zero the whole time and after hours it was completed. Like all of a sudden from preparing 0% to completed you’re almost done.

Galaxy s21Ultra >>> iPhone 14pro with 2.6gb of whatsapp data. both updated with latest software patches as at December 24. at the very beginning the password authentication failed but after second try it worked for me. the devices hung at 1 minute remaining for about 15 minutes and then it went through with transfer complete. after that the steps mentioned were all followed and worked as shown. cheers for the great instructions :)

Faced the same problem. Transfer stuck at 40%. Followed the instructions mentioned in the PINNED (top) comment of this video . It is better to spend $10, than wasting too much times on this Move to ios app.
As I had rather sizable history on WhatsApp, that "Preparing chats" took *really* long, but eventually it went thru. No need to buy unnecessary third party apps, just wait patiently (go outside jogging or something meanwhile) :)

Hi, my new iPhone doesn't show the screen "move chats to iphone" after I have entered the 6digit verification code, it just show the screen "restore from icloud".. This is the second time I do this, and still fail
@@meghapujari7 for me the problem was "restore from icloud". I had iphone before my android phone and when i was setting up my new iphone, the whatsapp wanted to restore from icloud (cloud save from that older iphone). Anyways the solution was to delete whatsapp backup from my icloud, then i had to start the process all over again (move to ios app). Hopefully you can retrieve your android Whatsapp back so you car try again after deleting that old backup from icloud (the one that it is trying to restore instead of getting the android data). Hopefully I was clear, feel free to ask me more, I'll try to help as much as I can. It was so frustrating for me to do so I'd like to help others avoid that.

The transfer doesn't retain the original dates that the transferred pictures were send. So they all show up on the time of transfer in the photos app. Did you get this too?

Yes its wired , the idea its that example: you just bought new iphone and now you need to swtch from android to iOS , and in first setup you see the options. But in fact mos of users have both Old whatsapp messages on Android and new messages on new iPhone

However after hours it reach to 2% and then the transfer stops and it says error occurred transfer has been cancelled. Please help. I did a backup to all my iPhone data and then reset it to factory mode. After that I installed WhatsApp like he showed in the video. Once the WhatsApp was in my iPhone I did a backup to WhatsApp data to iCloud. Then I deleted WhatsApp and recover all my iPhone data from backup. And then I downloaded WhatsApp again and it had all the data from iCloud backup.

thanks for your comment! it actually gives me some idea of why i got stuck in eternal Preparing 0%... i deleted some of my messages and left some big groups, and it left me at total 4 gb of data. It took me around 3 hours, i think? I got so tired waiting for the process I even went to sleep in the process and when I woke up the screen said it's almost done! thank you again!

@@hamisulh Hi, my whats app Back up had an amound of 15 GB, before transfer i deleted a lot of old stuff an some big Videos, i did that manually, chat by chat. Before that it was 19 GB big.
Than i started the transfer to my new iPhone and it worked verry well. It took less time that i expected. Most time was taken by "preparing", maybe 30 - 45 Minutes?
Me too first bought iphone , im already do my apple ID and the ID passcode i got through SMS ...if i reset my phone ,it will probably lost my important SMS? How you do mam ? If we want transfer ,the simcard we should put in or remove first in iphone?

Important thing is NOT TO TURN OFF your Android BEFORE you have activated WhatsApp on iPhone.
Because once the general transfer on Android is finished you could easily think it is all over. But it is NOT! Android needs to stay ON and close so that WhatsApp from iPhone can transfer completely.
Otherwise you have to reset iPhone again, and wait another couple of hours , to give it another try;) ;) ;)
In that case, won't you loose some chat history? As Whatsapp is active on the old device

Backing up everything, sync contacts, update firmware and apps was really critical as you stated. Well done in such a short clip. Save me tons 👍👍
It worked finally, after many failed attempts. For me the solution was restarting the android device. I had an error where it was preparing the backup for whatsapp for hours and after it got to 4% it showed an error that the transfer was cancelled and I had to restart the whole process. Hope this is helpful for someone else

@@bisonsfanpolska upload your data to icloud, and then perform a factory reset . post that ensure your ios is 15+ and then follow the steps in the video.
It worked!! But you have to be patient. The first two times i tried i gave up because it was stuck on 0% preparing but then i saw many videos and read many comments and decided to give it a final try. I deleted some of the unnecessary stuff and tried it and to my surprise in about 12-13 mins it went from 0% preparing to almost done and then everything happened as shown in the video. Note- 1. Your android device version should be 10 or above( just an observation from different comments) 2. Even if the second process shows 2 mins it will take longer than that so don’t give up.

It works but took several hours.
1) If you've used your Iphone for awhile already and you have to factor reset your iPhone, make sure to backup your data (pictures, contacts, notes, files, etc.) to iCloud drive.
2) I suggest purchasing the 200 gb iCloud storage for a month just to save all your data. You can cancel the storage subscription anytime. Worth the sacrifice.
3) I had difficulties with preparing the Whatsapp data for transfer. I got unknown error 10x. I almost gave up. But I realized I had to sacrifice some media data in Whatsapp in the android. So, I deleted some videos from the Whatsapp storage. I tried transferring again and it took 5 mins to finish.
4) Afterwards, input the old Apple ID again and you get all your data back. You just gotta re-install the Messenger, Viber, FB, Instagram, etc. again.
I am doing now and it took half hr to show 1%..so should I cancel and go delete some whatsapp media first..I use whatsapp for work and many chats which i cannot delete..my whatsapp has 16GB..will it take like forever? :((

@@primasi yes! I just updated whatsapp on the android phone and made sure the software was also up to date and then I think it worked. I can't really remember. See if you can clear some videos too before migrating it

I use WhatsApp Business not the regular WhatsApp. I tried this over and over without success. It only worked after I switched from WhatsApp Business to the regular WhatsApp app. A huge sigh of relief.

Also do this using the same Wi-Fi for both devices. Always check up on the device while on the transfer and don’t let the screen lock for so long

@@andyibanezk I still need to confirm before following steps. For reference I'm in finance department and my data pdf images etc are very important to me. U will get me if u have idea of how search engine work in WhatsApp. Those are consider proofs actually which I can't lose.
@@ZayyanAjaz you can always create a local backup on Android and restore it there if something goes wrong on the transfer. My WhatsApp data is 16GB so it’s not feasible to see if I lost anything, but I don’t think I lost anything.

I moved my phone and the whole thing just stopped. Had to reset my iphone twice. This method works but is insane that this is the solution to transfer data from a phone to another in 2022.

Sorry I've tried this multiple times. but when the data is transferring it stops at a certain percentage and just freezes. I sometimes will leave the phones alone for hours ( 5 hours at one time). But when a percentage freezes it just get's stuck there. Nothing so far has helped. I hope others find this video helpful tho.

Hope this comment is useful for many users trying to attempt this. My phone (OP9R) was also stuck at 0% forever. You have to just plug in charger on both devices and wait wait wait. I waited around 1.5 hours and suddenly it went from 4% to ready after being stuck at 0% for almost half an hour. My whatsapp data was close to 11 GB. I'm now on Move to iOS stage and now that transfer has been going on for the past 1.5 hours again. Its a long and tiresome process but I just hope it goes through. 1 Minute remaining. Will update with a reply based on progress.
Update 2: Remember that 1 minute that was left on Move to iOS progress bar? Well, that took around 12 minutes to reach the finished stage on both devices. Thereafter I setup my iphone further and I chose to sync my apps as available. Then I had to login to whatsapp and enter verification code and 2 factor authentication. Now the phone is at a stage with "Moving Chats from Android Screen". Phone has become hot from all the work but still at 72% after 15 minutes or so. Remember, I have 11 GBs of Whatsapp data. I now think I should have invested some time clearing it so that this transfer wouldn't have been the huge pain that it was. Maybe you should do that if you have a lot of data and are planning on trying out this method. Also, I'm yet to see my Android chats on this iPhone 13 Pro. Will post an update shortly.
Side note for heavy whatsapp users: Whatsapp Web Desktop app was signed out as well. So at this stage, if it doesn't work, I'm not sure what'll happen to my chats on my old phone.
After what seemed like an eternity, its done! I have my messages and media from my Android (OP9R) to my iPhone 13ProMax and I wasn't even on 15.6. I was on 15.5. :) Thank you Tips to fix!

After waiting for months finally I get that option too! I'm transferring from Huawei P40 to iPhone 13 Pro. So I followed through the video.. Great video btw! However i realize when my ios prompted the 6 digits code. The iPhone just decided to switch to cellular data out of no reason. I was practically sitting right in front of my modem to ensure good WIFI connectivity. It makes no sense to switch to cellular. And then the move to iOS app in android got stuck at "Preparing... 0%..." I removed the simcard in iPhone and restart the process. Now, the iPhone sticks to connecting to WIFI. After the 6 digits stage, my android was still showing "preparing... 0%..." I panicked a little but suddenly it just pops out "ready". Then everything from there was pretty much the same with your video. Geez I really do not understand why Apple products have to make everything tougher than usual.

@@mahmoudsaad8955 Oh mine was just 200mb. I waited 2mins. My devices were all connected to same wifi and i removed the simcards in the ios because the ios just switched to data on its own..
I removed the simcard again in hope that it'd work out for me as well... unfortunately as soon as I click on Move Data from Android it loses connection to the WIFI anyway... I'm frustrated. I wanted to have an uncomplicated small phone. Ugh.

If you have lots of whatsupp messages be really patient. It will take a lot to go from 0% to 2% (30 mins) but after that it will complete in 5 mins.

can you please restart your modem Wi-Fi ? or use another Wi-Fi network , if its not strong signal data transferred using Wi-Fi will be interrupted , so please find a place with strong Wi-Fi , or stay closer to the Wi-Fi router.

I have got the same problem, but instead of making progress, it keeps stuck in the %0. After a while, it says canceled or not responding. My data is not that huge, only 4-5 gb btw.

Thank you so much - my problem was that my iphone despite being brand new (Sept 2022) did not have the latest version of IOS. Updated and reset and the WhatsApp option appeared in the menu.
Followed this long with the official instructions on the whatsapp website....it takes a long time but it's done now.

Hello yes there are a lot cases like this reported here , what i thing in my opinion maybe will be the space in Android phone , can you check and see if your phone is 100% space used ?

Hi I was facing the same problem for a week now. Today I experimented and changed my android phn to my dad’s phn. First I took a back up of WhatsApp on my phn then I started WhatsApp on my dad’s phn and after that I took a back up on his phn then I started the move to ios app Frm his phn to my new iPhone. It took hours and was stuck on 0% but without moving forward the transfer completed and my chats got transferred.

@@sarthak1314 it took three episodes of friends. Also it never went beyond zero. It was zero the whole time and after hours it was completed. Like all of a sudden from preparing 0% to completed you’re almost done.

Hi Daniel, A quick question, in your process you did only WhatsApp restore on a erased iPhone. Is there a way to bring back both iCloud backup data and also WhatsApp data?

Galaxy s21Ultra >>> iPhone 14pro with 2.6gb of whatsapp data. both updated with latest software patches as at December 24. at the very beginning the password authentication failed but after second try it worked for me. the devices hung at 1 minute remaining for about 15 minutes and then it went through with transfer complete. after that the steps mentioned were all followed and worked as shown. cheers for the great instructions :)

Hi, great video, thanks! But i have this problem, i want to transfer whatsapp chat from Huawei p10 to iphone 13. I also see whatsapp as an option in the move to ios app. But when i press it the wordt whatsapp and start, a screen 'preparing chats' appears and it gets stuck there at 0%. Do you know this problem or know what i shoult do?

Faced the same problem. Transfer stuck at 40%. Followed the instructions mentioned in the PINNED (top) comment of this video . It is better to spend $10, than wasting too much times on this Move to ios app.

As I had rather sizable history on WhatsApp, that "Preparing chats" took *really* long, but eventually it went thru. No need to buy unnecessary third party apps, just wait patiently (go outside jogging or something meanwhile) :)

What if we cant erase any data? isn't it possible then
the only method official is this , but what i thing you can do is :
1. remove WhatsApp from iPhone complete.
2. backup your iphone full backup with iTunes on your pc mac
3. reset iPhone now
4. restore WhatsApp fully using my method (official)
5. now backup WhatsApp full to iCloud (make sure your iCloud have 5 gb free)
6. now restore iPhone from full backup (WhatsApp will be missing)
7. now install WhatsApp on iPhone
8. restore whatsup form iCloud
what do you thing is it worthen to give it a try?
make sure to know how many gb file size are all your WhatsApp data media etc..
iCloud have only 5 gb free , you have to upgrade iCloud , or create new iCloud account
Hi guys I have a question. I've bought an iPhone one month ago. Can I make a backup of my phone (pictures, applications, system, settings etc) and restart my phone because I want to transfer my old WhatsApp chats from my android device. After that I would download my backup with all the settings pictures applications etc. Is it possible to do it or not? I mean I dont want to lose all my current settings of my iphone. The only back up you can use later is from your icloud ig

Hi, my new iPhone doesn't show the screen "move chats to iphone" after I have entered the 6digit verification code, it just show the screen "restore from icloud".. This is the second time I do this, and still fail

@@meghapujari7 for me the problem was "restore from icloud". I had iphone before my android phone and when i was setting up my new iphone, the whatsapp wanted to restore from icloud (cloud save from that older iphone). Anyways the solution was to delete whatsapp backup from my icloud, then i had to start the process all over again (move to ios app). Hopefully you can retrieve your android Whatsapp back so you car try again after deleting that old backup from icloud (the one that it is trying to restore instead of getting the android data). Hopefully I was clear, feel free to ask me more, I'll try to help as much as I can. It was so frustrating for me to do so I'd like to help others avoid that.

@@youss236 Thanks! I just did the transfer yesterday. The starred messages got transferred! But there's another problem that I stumbled upon. The transfer doesn't retain the original dates that the transferred pictures were send. So they all show up on the time of transfer in the photos app. Did you get this too?

Thanks for the video, help me get doubts out of the way. The only thing to complain (not with the video, but with Whatsapp and Apple :D) is that only to move the messages from one application, I really need to reset the iPhone.
Yes its wired , the idea its that example: you just bought new iphone and now you need to swtch from android to iOS , and in first setup you see the options.
But in fact mos of users have both Old whatsapp messages on Android and new messages on new iPhone

im trying to find a way doing this for free and official but the only method its with reset the iphone its only because Apps and Data Screen its not an option or an App that you are allowed to chose this appear only only when you reset the phone !

Hi. I followed all the steps and also factory reset my iPhone. I can see WhatsApp in move to ios and I transfer the data. However after hours it reach to 2% and then the transfer stops and it says error occurred transfer has been cancelled. Please help.
Edit: Hi I thought maybe less storage was the prblm so I made space my phn. However that made it more annoying. First it would go till 2% but now it is stucked on 0% n then shows data transfer canceled. However I never requested for cancelation.
Edit : Guys I changed my android phone from mine to my father's and tried whatsapp transfer from there. N it kinda worked
Try to reset the apple phone and again start the transfer process.

I did a backup to all my iPhone data and then reset it to factory mode.
After that I installed WhatsApp like he showed in the video.
Once the WhatsApp was in my iPhone I did a backup to WhatsApp data to iCloud.
Then I deleted WhatsApp and recover all my iPhone data from backup.
And then I downloaded WhatsApp again and it had all the data from iCloud backup.
Does it also work with WhatsApp business app?
i did it for myself on WhatsApp business and it works great , so will be the same procedure
@@Tips2Fix well it all worked quite well but as soon as I tried to move the WhatsApp messenger data to business it all went away and when I tried to go back to normal WhatsApp it said no backup found
