Rachel Dratch and Cheri Oteri are two of the biggest standout female comedy performers of all time. They will do anything for the laugh. they commit to a point that you're embarrassed for them. Rachel has such a great comedic sense. Put her with anyone, and she manages to steal the show or make everyone else better. Great show, here. Sitting down and chatting with all of these legends. I hope you guys keep it going. Spades and Carvey are excellent together.
Yeah I don't understand why Cheri Oteri isn't talked about or mentioned much by anyone associated with SNL.... SO GLAD THEY INTERVIEWED HER but I STILL don't have the answer to that question....
Rachel was definitely one of the cast members who wasn’t afraid to be weird. She is someone who can lean into the absurd and it always translates well to the audience. I was always pleased to see her make a cameo in 30 Rock.
Coincidentally I’ve been watching the Debbie Downer clips this last week, and watching the cast trying to keep it together is the funniest thing. She is hilarious in everything I’ve seen her in. An SNL legend for sure.
David Spade... you are one classy and funny guy. Didn't know where else to write this, but your speech at Adam's award night, that breathe you took, could instantly tell you had so much to say personally to Adam, and then you realized it wasn't the place, so (on time) you said "aahh.. turn the teleprompter back on." Just so honest and real LUV you man.
Such a superb episode. The hosts are sooo quick and clever on this one that I kind of have to listen to it again! And I LOVE Rachel's voice. It doesn't age. She sounds like my friends in high school.
🌀 WHOMP WHOMP🌀 Gotta love Rachel… Loved her as Debbie Downer and REALLY loved her w Jimmy Fallon and their Boston accents!! I feel like she and Jimmy broke more than any other cast members. Made that skit even funnier!! I laugh so hard at her crazy eyebrow in the “Just Go With It”!! I can watch “Wine Country” repeatedly. Such a fabulous era of SNL.❤️
Great podcast! Rachel was SO AWESOME on SNL- such a brilliant, hilarious, dynamic and versatile cast member! Loved her as Harry Potter, one of the Lovahs (alongside Will Ferrell), Debbie Downer, and Denise(alongside Jimmy Fallon/Sully)!👏👏👏🏆🏆🏆🥇🥇🥇
I love this podcast and am happy they left her talk more than previous guests. I love when an SNL legend such as Dana Carvey converses with legends from other casts and eras. Wednesdays are my favorite day of the week.
God Rachael Dratch gives exactly the kind of interview you’d hope for. Enthusiastic, assertive, and definitely wants to talk about her SNL experience. Also hi-lar-i-ous
One of my favorite things she did was on an episode of 30 Rock. She was playing a cat wrangler and right when another character was going to call Tina Fey's character a bad name Rachel shouted - "runt! has anyone seen my runt!!"🤣
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !* _Tappin' in from South Central LA_ About once a month I come to RUclips to rewatch that Debby Downer/Lindsey Lohan sketch. I even turned my kids onto it a good 10 years ago or so. Just last week I was on a 'Luv-ahs' binge. I wasn't aware that there were so many of them. What a pleasant surprise ! I'd really only seen the one with Jimmy Fallon & Drew Barrymore in the _"ah-hah-tub"_. Will Ferrell saying, _"Duck - meat"_ with that short pause after the hard 'ck' is hilarious !
Hey! Dana! I was not in love with Alec Baldwin. It's just that I had to kiss him a lot in that show and I'm a "method actor". I really fall in love when I'm supposed to be acting like I'm in love. Especially if I have to kiss the guy. Then, I have to shake it off and go back to reality.
I read any bio or memoir any comic has ever written - from Milton Berle to Amy Schumer and 100's of others (including David Spade's very good "Almost Interesting" & Dana Carvey's "I Don't Know Why The Fuck He Hasn't Written One Yet") - and Rachel's bio "Girl Walks Into A Bar" is one of the best ever. When I dutifully picked it up, I hoped it wouldn't be as bad as Amy Schumer's and it ended up being almost as good as Bob Newhart's. I know people under 60 don't read, but pick it up if you want a good one.
Rachel's Disney Debbie Downer sketch with Lindsey Lohan is EASIEST the funniest sketch I've ever seen on SNL because they all broke. I can watch that to this day and lmao 🤣
Debbie Downer was a favorite, but like Phil she was super beneficial to any skit she was in, thinking of Catherine Zeta Jones as the new French teacher.. Eating a sammhich, Frau, made the skit
I hate it. He interrupts the guests constantly, and always turns it back to himself. I usually don't make it through any of these interviews because he annoys me so much. I'm about to see if I make it through this one....
@@christheghostwriter even worse than talking about himself is when he interrupts Spade and the guest having a conversation to ask questions from his list about stuff he hasn't even seen and barely knows about. In the Andy Samberg episode he stops Spade and Andy's funny conversation and is like "our producer gave me a list of questions and we don't have much time left to get through them. Please quickly tell me about Dick in a Box and then tell me what it was like working with Beyonce" If that's how it's gonna be then it might as well be Access Hollywood or something. Not a podcast where comedian have conversations Edit: and Spade doesn't want to be rude say anything to Dana. Like he didn't even correct him the first time he said Adam Samberg And then he later called Samberg's wife Gina and her name is Joanna lol I don't know, his age is showing, he's almost 70. Like when Paul Rudd mentioned Tim and Eric I don't think Dana knew who they were
Rachel was awesome on SNL! I believe she did some skits with Molly that were hilarious! She is very spazzy and animated in this interview! - fun episode!!
Who do you think the bipolar guest was? They said it was a comedian from a couple weeks ago. The only one that comes to mind is Bert Kreischer but I’ve never heard that before
Molly Shannon has either BPD or something similar to it depending on the article you read, and she was on a month or 2 prior to this episode. Likely her. Taylor Tomlinson also has BPD, but her episode didn't air until 3 months after this one, so unless it was recorded before Rachel Dratch's episode, I doubt it was her. Coincidentally, there's an author named Dennis C. Miller who wrote at least 1 book on bipolar disorder, and Dennis Miller [the comedian] was on the show like 5 months before this episode, so would be hilarious if that's who they're referring to.
@everybodylovesdevin that's fine with me. She's a wacko and he's just a sad old douchebag who was never funny to begin with. Have you seen his latest "comedy" special? It's horrifyingly bad. Like so many other hack comics and washed-up actors, he's decided that pandering to the dumbest and most extreme fringes of the right is the best way to keep putting food on the table
Why can’t you just enjoy something and leave that crap out of it for once? Not every single thing in life needs to be about politics or some other divisive topic, just chill out for a minute and listen and forget about that crap for a little bit, it may make you feel better about things, at the very least it’ll give the rest of us a few minutes of peace from the bullshit
It's great that you're having a conversation but when every show is about the hosts experiences being repeated over and over and over again it becomes a problem
Thanks for the company guys. I listen while doing data entry(Publishers clearing house) The former president and I have a few things in common. Not. They’re both actually quite petite. 🤪
I would add Molly Shannon to that.
Rachel is one of the great unsung SNL cast members. Every character she played was funny.
❤
Rachel you're so cute and beautiful.
May I say so.
Her Fun Time Friends, SNL Sketch is legendary and she has been a fantastic actress ❤
Rachel is so cool!
Fly On The Wall, This Week's Guest and herb help keep me off of booze. Thank you, Dana, David, and Rachel.
That’s awesome. I’m trying .

Favorite SNL female. High level talent IQ, LOVE HER
So very sweet ❤🎉

"turn the teleprompter back on" was on the teleprompter = this is their business, they're not losers who are guessing.
Ya the teleprompter bit was seamless 😅
Such a superb episode. The hosts are sooo quick and clever on this one that I kind of have to listen to it again! And I LOVE Rachel's voice. It doesn't age. She sounds like my friends in high school.
Without a doubt my favorite female cast member

I laugh/cry just thinking about Debbie Downer!😂 I can't even!🤭😭😝 Best BALL-breaker, EVER!!🤣🤣🤣🤣☺️
The Rita rudner impressions are fire 🔥😂
This podcast is immensely more enjoyable than current SNL, salute 🍻
She is funny as hell. "I straddled them all!" hahaha

Excellent Poundstone
She makes me laugh in everything she does!
Loved hot tub skits with Will Ferrell!!! Boston scenes with Jimmy, and Debbie Downer....they are soooooo freaking funny!!!
Oh yeah! Thank you for reminding me about that one.
Why isn't this advertised more all my friends whom I watched SNL would love this... ❤
She was great on The King of Queens, too!

Jimmy having the most breaks makes sense. dude almost did it as a schtick
Family Guy made fun of it at least once, was great.

It really was. The constant breaking got old with Fallon but original Debbie Downer was soooo extremely hilarious and classic
I have always kinda hated Fallon, no, disliked, I only ever really hated Howard Stern
David says he got carded at chili's lol
I was just waiting for someone to say , "your aarp card?" 😂😂
She’s amazing 💛
Saw her and Tina in a two woman show in Chicago. Still at it.
They all have such good ears for discourse.
Love her!!
Rachel's hallmark movie spoof with Anna G was great
Love her on Last Week Tonight!
Debbie Downer was a favorite, but like Phil she was super beneficial to any skit she was in, thinking of Catherine Zeta Jones as the new French teacher.. Eating a sammhich, Frau, made the skit
RD was the funniest woman on SNL. Always made me laugh
Love you Debbie Downer. You're so perfect RACHEL DRATCH.
She's dangerously funny.
Also a legend ❤❤❤
I saw Rachel Draft I immediately clicked
Dana's Lorne Michaels sounds like dr. Evil to me.
She seems so pleasant.
Rachel is so funny !
I love how every Dana question trails off then segues into his own personal anecdote.

Love show enjoy ur talks
hey, where can I buy a Puffer?
(I cant see it so I don't know if I actually want one, lol).
‘Whenever I eat mou…saka’. The art of shin-shi-shin-shi is alive and well.
Who else is binge watching these?
DRATCH!!
Will you please have people on all the time even if they've been on and they keep coming on❤ please.
I listen to every episode. Love you guys. Please do a show for Norm Macdonald. I’ve seen everything with Norm too many times. Much love from Tempe AZ
I really liked Coneheads!!
IMHO it was in the top half of the rankings of all SNL movies.
Debbie downer was hilarious
she was grear on rhe show..hilarious
Save me from this world you guys. More laughs less hate❤
36:40 🔥🔥🔥 fun!
I'd also like to see you and the guest reenact a classic skit by each guest at the end of the episode. Billion dollar idea. you're welcome
As a fan of stand up, hearing her do Rita and Paula is gold.

I want to do her Boston style.
When are you guys going to have Victoria Jackson on to talk vaccines and Trump?
Well, we had on every single SNL cast member. But wait, what about Victoria Jackson or Jim Breuer?.........*crickets*
