  • Do not be afraid to get a brain scan especially if you have a family history of brain hemorrhages, brain aneurysms or brain bleeds. Dr. Alex Spiotta alongside Sharon Epperson, CNBC Senior Personal Finance Correspondent and brain aneurysm survivor explain that discovering a brain aneurysm should not cause fear because they are treatable. Dr. Spiotta goes over brain aneurysm statistics, the benefits to treating brain aneurysms and how artificial intelligence plays a part in the detection and treatment process while Sharon shares her survival story and experience with familial aneurysms.

Hi, I am a survivor of a ruptured brain aneurysms. So thankful that the medical staff at HCA-Gadsden Center diagnosed the situation and there was a Neuro-surgeon on duty at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare in Tallahassee, FL. Praise God.

My Dad had 13 brain aneurysm, I got checked and had a 2mil aneurysm, my Neurosurgeon suggested I have it removed because of family history. Although other doctors said I would be ok and to just keep an eye on it, Thank God I listened to my Neurosurgeon, as soon as he opened me up the aneurysm ruptured and he found tissue built up where it had already been leaking before. He also found 3 very small aneurysms that he removed. This was October 2022. I'm doing ok but still recovering. ❤

My dad died suddenly last year from a massive brain bleed at brain stem. He had no idea he had an aneurysm. However his brother has one the doctors are watching. Their first cousin had an aneurysm and had it repaired. So now I'm concerned about my sister's and cousins.

Thanks for taking the time for these educational videos. I survived a rupture. Sept 23. Turned out I had 2 small ones. I was blessed that so many from the 911 team the Local hospital then Careflight to Ft Worth. Rupture was 8mm, and I never knew it was there! Had no idea I was at risk as I was adopted at birth. Is there a website to connect patients by state?

I had 2 aneurysms 11 years ago, but I have moved since and can't seem to get my doctor to understand that I need to have the coils & sheath checked out. I have terrible anxiety over this.

Insurance won’t cover if a family member wants to check out because family member had one.

That's what I was told. Got a 2nd opinion and as soon as he opened me up it ruptured and he found tissue built up where it had been leaking previously. I had no symptoms or headaches. Thank God for neurosurgeon Dr Day. He saved my life!!
