Gotta say, it probably would be really annoying having multiple drones buzzing you while you left and entered the inlet.
we’ve been noticing that lately. there is at least two or three every time we go out of HI at first we smiled and waved but now it’s kind of obnoxious

In FL, tourists can just rent a boat for a day. They don't care if you have no experience. Many are told NOT to go out on the ocean or gulf, but they don't listen

Love watching the small and medium boats get tossed around then a big yacht comes through like it's nothing.

The most competent and comfortable transits of Haulover are consistently made by the older grey-haired man in the Boston Whaler with the black top. Always smooth, no matter the conditions! And, where are the Blue Top girls?
I guarantee the paperwork they signed said "do not go into inlet"

I love watching your videos, because I've done almost all those stupid mistakes when I started boating in FL in the 90s. LOL Boy, am I lucky to be alive FFS! LOL I'm happy to say I'm much more experienced and safer these days.

The trick to dominating at Haulover is to always have your sacrificial Granny riding up front. If things get bad...the god of Haulover will accept your granny in trade for safe passage. Works every time...

after looking at all these videos of Haulover Inlet, I've learned one major lesson. Not to have a boat with a downward Bow!
Learning how to drive a boat properly is the first obstacle
Lake Boats have zero business in salt water. Yet, they persisted...
Trim exists for a reason. This dude had the trim all the way down, further proving he has no idea what he’s doing in a boat.

My advice to the skipper of the first vessel is get more experience before tackling a difficult stretch of water like that. Make sure everyone on board is wearing a lifejacket when going through the inlet. Don’t let people sit up in the bow in those conditions, get the bow up and be very decisive getting on and off the throttle as you go through that messy sea.

Don't hang onto the canopy frame. You'd be amazed how much they charge if you break or bend it.

Know your boat before you put it in conditions it can’t handle. A lake boat belongs on a lake. Just common sense but not much of that around today. I was raised in NJ around boats, and have seen the worst handling of boats in FL. Sorry FL but why do people who retire or move to FL feel “ oh boy gotta buy a boat” some should just stay out of one, just don’t qualify or responsible enough to drive one let alone take some crowd with them and little kids with no life preservers on and parents or grandparents right there doing nothing. And in the bow, no less.
And they buy matching pickup trucks. Pathetic bunch. Cant wait for world wide gasoline supply to run out.
First timer needs to accompany an experienced Haulover driver a few times, before ever getting under the wheel
