Great review! Before I bought my new Grand Cherokee I was undecided between X5 and GC. GC won because everything in X5 is an option and some those options are standard on GC like liftgate and backup cam. GC and Mercedes ML shares shame platform. Also, you should of put it in Sport mode to rev. Side Note: some people don't know how use sport mode. Once in drive shift the gear back once and you will see 'S' and racing flag in display.
After looking at other affordable suv's I decided on Jeep GC Overland 3.0L Diesel with TrackRated upgrade. (Underbody plates and back to 18 inch rims from 20 inch.) I love all the technology, 7.2 litres/100km, 3.5 ton tow rating, Engine is quiet and quite responsive. Colour options ideal for me. I chose light colour interior and exterior for our (AU) hot climate. Heated steering wheel seemed decadent, but I enjoy it in cold weather and similarly with heated seats. Cooled vented seats will have to wait till summer. I had an XJ Cherokee ULP/LPG I took to 404,000km (built like a tank) so I hope this does something close to that! So far the vehicle is a joy to drive on the gravel and on the freeways. The auto cruise is great. Blind spot warning works well, Auto wipers fine, Auto dip lights on quieter roads is great. U-Connect is very easy. Some improvement to mapping would help, but that may come. Local dealers seem enthusiastic and helpful. It is good to see FCJD has turned around a lot. IT IS A PITY JEEP SPARE PARTS PRICES ARE SO EXCESSIVELY EXPENSIVE. I think I will buy Korean for my wife!!! BB
Nice review. I have owned new Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep vehicles in the past. They have always had squeaky brakes, every single one of them, from almost day one. The dealers have always told me there was nothing wrong with the brakes and I would just have to live with it. They told me they can't be fixed, it's just how brakes are. No other vehicle I've owned has ever done this though. I am wondering if this vehicle had that problem? I stopped buying Chrysler because of this problem to be honest, but I do like this SUV and am considering it....if the brakes don't squeak! Thanks.
It could be the inviroment you live in, if its humid or very cold alot of the time it may be the reason. But ofcourse i dont know too much of these things so correct me if im wrong :) Have a good day! :)

I like that Auburn Pearlcoat Grand Cherokee Summit next to this one. We haven't had that color of Grand Cherokee yet.
