I have a 2014 JGC LIMITED. Love it. Has just over 125,000 miles. Feel no need to upgrade. Might be 10 years old, but it still holds its own and is still modern. Was ahead of it's time tbh
I just put half down on one yesterday , gonna pick it up this week. It's got everything I need and want , only 40k miles and it's a 2014. Beautiful SUV.

I agree. It's damned impressive what these v6 engines will do. Good mileage, plenty of torque to tow a trailer, and fun to drive.
@@topofthemountainaction Honda transmissions, GM transmissions, Ford transmissions, Nissan transmissions, even some Toyota transmissions are famous for failing early. The transmission is an incredibly complex part of any vehicle and it really is the weak point of most modern vehicles. That having been said, the ZF 8-speed is pretty consistently touted to be one of the best on the market, as it consistently makes the top 5 list of any reputable reviewer and owner. I'm sorry to hear yours failed, but there are a half dozen reasons that could be at 85,000 miles. Generally poor maintenance, letting it overheat, or never getting your fluid changed are probably the top of that list.
Im from mexico, i have the same version of the grand cherokee v6, my top speed was 210 km/h, so so 130 mph. Its great Suv.

@@robertogonzalez2502 hola que tal, la camioneta me ha salido muy buena, actualmente tiene 40 mil km y solo le he cambiado recien las balatas, es una excelente camioneta, el consumo si es un poco elevado pero es normal por ser un vehículo de mas de 2 tons ( 7-8 kmxL). Saludos

@@edgarolivares6315 hola, pues poniéndole un servicio de buena calidad ronda de los $1,700 a los 2,200 dependiendo el tipo de servicio, de preferencia dale una revisión con escáner para ver que no tenga alguna falla importante.
@@robertogonzalez2502 my papa teina una y salen muy buenos casi no dan problemas pero la de el se apago un día y todos los sistemas como control de tracción y ABS fallaron el caro se puso en neutro autamatica mente pero solo tubimos de resetearlo
I took mine, a 2012 WK2 3.6 Pentastar to 210 Km/h (130 Mph) no problem, and felt that there was still a little bit to go. And mine is a 6 speed. And felt like was doing 120 km/h, solid as a rock!!!!
I cannot imagine driving my Grand Cherokee Summit at those speeds. At least not here in the USA.
And people like you are the reason why they’ll never have an autobahn here my cruising speed when I lived in Germany was 150 miles an hour in my Trans Am when I had the governor removed then I got a trail hawk jeep and I did about 180. The speed is not the issue. The problem is idiots in the United States have their phone so far up their ass and they have too much pride or whatever to get the hell out of the left lane

Looks like about 118 to 120 MPH max. Pretty fast, probably speed limited for the tires but that's still plenty fast.

I’ve gotten to 123mph and let off the gas because I my tires were only rated to go 118mph so paranoia kicked in😭😭😭

That 118mph rating is for sustained speed for an hour. So you can open it , you'll be just fine.
Didn't even use sport mode, just tap back the gear stick while in drive
Remember this is kilometers folks not MPH. So from what i could tell he was hovering anywhere between 90-105mph. Not bad for a vehicle weighing nearly 5000lbs.
Yes mostly part was around 95-105 mph, after passing blue car we did hit at 120 mph and limiter kicked in

Very true, but I think the V6 is really well matched for the Grand Cherokee. It's no speed demon, but it also never feels underpowered. Good passing power and still gets decent fuel economy for such a heavy, solidly built, boxy SUV.

I own both 16 Pentastar JGC and 17 Hemi JGC. Both hit the governor limit at 118mph.. of course, Hemi is quicker, and Pentastar saves fuel..
Well I have the 2019 JGC Limited but I'm afraid to drive that fast, LOL!!! It's good to know that it has the speed when I need it though

Davey, this is not a direct injection engine - no chance to get troubles with carbon build-up like the direct injection TSI, GDI, TCe or similar European engines.
Also - no DPF, high-pressure injectors or diesel fuel-pump. And unlike the 3.0 MultiJet (Ecodiesel), no fatal issues. Pretty solid power plant.

to be fair, grand cherokee has a massive gas tank. I think mine is about 24 gallons. Costs a lot to fill up but it goes a long time in between

Dongfeng invested money into the Parent company of Jeep. You're jumping to conclusions to assume any car is made in China just because a company there bought a percentage of stocks from the other carmaker.
All Grand Cherokees are made in Michigan, except for some of the foreign markets. which get them in limited numbers from South America or from Egypt if I remember correctly.
Furthermore, the Grand Cherokee uses components mostly engineered by German and American companies with a small percentage even coming from Japan (airbags, alternator, etc) and while we're on the subject the car was actually designed AND engineered by Chrysler *in conjunction* with the Mercedes ML-Class of 2012, and shares a lot of basic engineering and components in some places because the two companies were still working together during that time.
Anyway, almost all car makers buy parts from major international suppliers so it's hard to say ANY car is truly American, German, Japanese etc.
So, all that being said, even Chinese cars are starting to pass global crash tests regularly and many of their export cars are also using higher-quality components from the well known and reputable major suppliers too - so its probably only a matter of time before Chinese cars start to lose their reputation for terrible quality; the same way the Korean carmakers did over the last 30 years, and the Japanese did before that 🤷♂️

Most normal US version vehicle are limited at 180-215 kmh due rules. Even german cars in usa are limited at 210 kmh. I had Chrysler 300 3.6 without limiter and hit 248 kmh gps

this jeep is US model and has US limiter, most cars in USA has limiter even german cars in USA. 160 kmh limiter at pickup, 180 at many SUV, 190-210 some SUV, cars etc has limiter. sportscars like dodge challenger SRT has no limiter, thats why. without limiter this jeep could hit 220-230 kmh.

Maybe yours is a EU spec? The one we tested is a 2014 and US spec. It was limited to 193 kph (120 mph)

Higher revs and 140+ KPH, you won't get better than 7-7.5 KM/L. With normal 120-140 KPH highway driving will get you 8 KM/L

No. The V6 is a very competent engine and really quite perfectly matched for the Grand Cherokee, but it isn't a speed racer by any means. It'll get you up to speed, has good enough passing power, and gets decent enough fuel economy in a fairly large, heavy, and boxy SUV. Plus Jeep's 4WD system is usually too smart to let it happen.

Hey. What does sport mode do when turned on?
Shifts at a higher rpm and throttles way more responsive.
On my overland it lowers suspension and tightens steering too.. I have the v6 with an ingen CAI, pedal commander, and dual Flomaster mufflers with resonator delete! Great vehicles!!
I have a base 14 Laredo. Still love it. Another question.. There is no manual button or lever to engage 4wd, how does it work?

You use the steering wheel paddles to manage the transmission shifts.

On this side of the pond, the speedo stops at 140mph.
