I would be with you, but the small size and lower weight makes a huge difference. I like driving the model s, but it still feels like a big car in footprint and weight, while the model 3 is close to the size of my volt, and only weighs 200lbs heavier. Although I would love a hatch, its not worth getting a less nimble car over it.
@@msbgone right now i just have a old chevy volt, which is smaller than the model 3. even though i have a hatch, the trunk is still smaller and has far less passenger space. so if im fine with this, ill be fine with a model 3. no need for a model s. i even have a hitch installed for my dirtbike, and even that works on my car.

You make it sound so cheap but when you look at it after all fees, price comes out to $54,918 with the $7,500 tax credit and $62,668 after all fees without tax credit. Still I ordered mine ! 😝
Mine was 53k out the door with the 7500 taken off and zero down. Only addition was the Pearl White which was 1k. Ordered it 2 weeks ago. It is nowhere near 45k unless your putting money down.
It's a different battery pack which has slightly less peak availabilities. But don't worry, the on paper difference will be much less in the real world under 100mph where people do 99.9% of their driving. Same 0-60 and maybe 1 tenth in the 1/4mile difference. About 30hp of peak power. But the pack is also about 20kg lighter so that makes up a lot of the difference
I totally agree with you about the white headline preferred to be black to match everything like the Model S Plaid. The other thing is the side white interior if you choose the white seats, it should be black side interior.
If Aptera fails I will be buying this. I always preferred the 3 to the Y and this is an absolutely insane update. This is going to be the benchmark for any EV sports cars. Seriously who is going to ever beet this in performance per dollar and its still 5 seats with all the great tesla tech. Especially given the tax credit and still fairly good range it is serious competition to anyone looking at Aptera as a sports car.

A 4-door sedan with "track mode"? Taking the wife and kids around the Nurburgring? Or just embarrassing Dodge Challenger owners at the traffic light on the way back from the grocery store? The Roadster is really way overdue, and "could" be a practical electric Miata commuter car with some real Zoom Zoom Zoom, instead of an impractical overpriced rocket ship for the excessively well funded.
Don’t get me wrong they should always keep pushing the envelope, but there’s only so many times Tesla can pull out the “0-60 in under 2.x seconds” trick without it feeling like they’re out of fresh ideas. It’s not a differentiator like it used to be when they were the only ones making EVs in serious volume and we were competing the specs with ICE cars. Now there’s real choice of EVs out there and they’re all fast, maybe not Tesla fast but close enough to be moot.
In the long run the I feel the m3lr would help with more range and practicality. Personally I drive to places a lot and also go long distances. I feel like I would have to charge more often if I were to get the m3pf.
Drew, can you please do an odometer test on your Model 3? Seeing a lot of reports of the car inflating the number of miles driven compared to actual miles driven. You could compare it Google or Apple maps. If the odometer readings are significantly higher than actual distance travelled, then Tesla is defrauding costumers and it needs to be brought to light.

I also used to be against leasing but just look at the cost monthly for the base and dual motor model 3 in a 3 year lease ($300 a month) vs 72 months financing ($603 a month). It does not make sense to buy a vehicle when you have double the monthly payment and a higher down payment upfront just invest the difference. Also the depreciation on EVs especially Tesla’s is insane because of how fast the market is moving. By the time you pay off your car in 6 years it won’t be worth half or maybe even a quarter of the original cost. If you just invest the difference you will likely be better off in my opinion.

I don't think the Model 3 Performance sales are high enough, that they're impacting the larger S and even more distinct X. Both of those vehicles are outside the average buying price and that's likely the bigger factor. Add in the fact that crossovers are the hottest segment and it speaks volumes about Y sales.

Tesla need to reassess their market. The car looks great, but there's a car that beats this in almost every metric. The Xiaomi su7 Max costs $41,500, does 0-60 in 2.78 seconds, does 323 miles (EPA) and has 673 hp. It also drives itself at no additional cost. Once again, I'm disappointed as a Tesla fanboy at their ability to produce a better product than what already exists out there. They need to do better.

After Federal Tax Credit $47,130 Plus Tax etc.
