Right after he shot Murray, Arthur Fleck laughed. Not the involuntary cackle stemming from his psychological disorder, but a genuine laugh. At that moment, when he became the Joker, Arthur was more sane than he had ever been before. When I realized that, my brain crawled out of my body and caught Oceanic Flight 815. If you know, you know.
@@wilder11 Re-read what I said. Take your time. I said he was MORE sane than he had ever been before. It's kind of like standing on the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea is higher than standing at the bottom of the Marianas Trench. You're still underwater.
He was laughing because of the jokes he was making in his head. About the absurdity of the situation, and the true insanity of the world. "At least I'm not pretending anymore," Fleck probably thought. "They're even crazier than I am."

I remember when the movie came out, I happened upon this clip while getting ready for work at like 3:30 am,before I went and saw it in theaters, and had such an emotional reaction to it. It disturbed the hell out of me all morning at work. Something about the background music, the quick brutal nature of the shot, and Arthur’s reaction to shooting Murray just got to me. And I knew it was coming! I’ve seen the scene that this scene is based off of. And it still got me. It’s disturbing and Joaquin captures the anxious build up and then release so perfectly. His subtle little laughs and shaking really sell it.
Ive never sympathized with a villain like Joker but seeing this man in pain and the hell he went through ive never felt so bad and actually cheering for joker because he was right society can be heartless
what's fascinating about this moment was that we, the audience, have been watching a lot of action and violent movies and yet this single moment of him shooting Murray gives such a shocking reaction despite knowing who he is and who he will become. It's like we were waiting for it but also hoping that he wouldn't do it.
Poor joker he didn't deserve to be mistreated by everyone I feel bad for joker they bullied him from the beginning he was innocent person and they didn't have to treat him remember he's human just like us I don't blame him for becoming a villain he was a sweet dude
The build up music is almost the same music in The Shining at the end when Wendy is running around finally seeing whats really going on... its haunting... so good.
Everybody focuses on the murder, the shot, but pay attention to Arthur's first reaction before the camera switches to close-up. You can see he's in shock that he managed to kill someone on Live TV.
Saw this movie at home for the first time about a year & half ago & once they announced Joker 2, I was super excited because of how good the first one was and even excited with lady gaga playing HQ because of how good she was in American horror story. The second they announced it was going to be some type of musical, I got worried but you really never got a confirmation whether it was really going to be a musical or not. Rewind about a week before the actual release of Joker 2 and you started to see all the horrible ratings, I still didn't pay it no mind at first but once I started seeing all the negative reviews from fans that actually enjoyed the first one and heard them saying how trash the 2nd one was and how horrible it did at the box office, I knew it most be true. What a damn shame that they messed up Joker 2, I still plan to watch it when it comes on stream in about a week but damn what a waste.
I’m actually shocked most of these people didn’t see it coming. What other possible outcome could there have been here? Basic storytelling says that you can’t build this kind of villain, Murray, and not have the equation balanced, as it were, in the climax.
I always find it interesting when people are shocked by this display of violence by the joker. When comic joker has literally filled cemeteries. Like he thrives on murder and chaos.
Hollywood backtracked so quick with the sequel when they realised they just outed their own dark tendencies with this movie. How many desperate, ambitious people with hopes and dreams have been used up and thrown aside by those obscenely rich fucks, we'll never know.
What i ask myself alot is: Is he wrong? With saying the "what do you get when you...." line? If you watch society and politics you can not get arround the fact that mental illnesses still getting laugh at and beeing playin down with stuff like "you just need some fresh air go outside" and so on. And the product from it is? Yup it is ppl bursting cause they dont know any other "valve" to steam off.... i dont say its okay dont get me wrong but how the world works and how many countrys dont give a shit about ALOT of ppl it doesnt take some Einstein to understand WHY so many more ppl go apeshit these days. But communism is bad! Healthy and equaly pay offs for ppl so they can LIVE instead of working theyr asses off into the hearth attack is BAD, isnt it? 😉

It bothers me to see the russian privileged woman being so appalled all the time. Doesn't she know that they are killing Ukrainian children by the thousands?
Interesting. You must be prescient. Tell me, how do you know she _isn’t_ appalled by other things going on in the world? Or is this your daily exercise in virtue signaling?
You need to treat your mental health, fixation and obsession with Ukraine is not very good. You just dragged this topic under the video with a reaction for no reason
3:20 I love his reaction, even the dog react to his owner 😂

Society created a monster. Goodnight and remember that’s life🤡 No wonder Joaquin won an Oscar for this performance.
Honestly he became my favorite Joker after seeing this
Really great. I honestly thought he said „that‘s Live television“ as in: Everything can go wrong on live tv. But „that‘s life“ is also a good line.

Lol. I've watch this film several times and i've only now got the symbolism and punchline of the joke

Thanks for doing this. That scene is the essence of this incredible film.
Poor Arthur. The joker took over. Brilliant film👍🏻

Although I too was shocked when i saw this in the theatre, I also let out a small cackle when he did the dance 😅

When I first saw this scene I jumped out of my seat and laughed because I didn't think he was actually going to kill him
Society creates monsters everyday, it's a sad realization.
Which is why you always treat people with respect and you never get in to a confrontation with someone you don't know.

watching this after finishing joker 2 man that sucks the first one was so good

How about watching the making of the Joker, which will define the era it's set in hence no body guards n no picking up the evidence 💚
