The game was written and voice acted in English first then translated to Japanese. Even the character's lip movement was made to fit the English voices.
I have this game as a 5.5-6/10 its as much as an rpg as cod is a old western game

Horizon forbidden West blows ff16 out of the water in terms of frame rate and graphics. When ff16 super kings Ultima edition comes out for the ps5pro it will be amazing.
Quick note about when he talks about localisation, this is actually the first mainline FF game where the script was written first in English

The only thing I don't like about this game is that they released it the beginning of summer when I have no time I would like to support this game at lunch I like the direction that they went in I want to piss off all the woke people who are complaining about it being too white but I just have no time.

just an fyi: according to Squenix the script for the story was actually written in english first, then translated to japanese. That's why they want the player to play w/ the english dub. The japanese dub is not synched to the mouth movements
You could've done the bare minimum by crediting Diego Mitre, the person responsible for some of the music you used earlier in this video. These are recreations, not the official tracks.
The hype is strong with this one!
I enjoyed the Demo when it got going. But I have PSVR2 sucking all my time up right now and laying out £60+ isn't on my priorities right now. I've never been a great fan of FF, but I have to say, this one I did like from the demo. I'll give it a go when it's on sale one day or on PS+.

FF16 is a beautiful and fun game plus I love the battle system which let’s you enjoy the gameplay also the cutscenes are epic in my opinion
This game is so epic. The boss fights are insane and the gameplay is so fun. I didn't think I'd like it
If ff14 had this type of combat it would be the best mmorpg of all time one can hope they make one with this type of combat

I was born in the 80's and FF games just never were my cup of coffee but the past couple have gotten me curious since they are more action now not turn based. But I feel too late to the game and would be lost in the decades old lore.
Each game is stand-alone story wise so no need to have played previous entries to get into the franchise. Just some themes remain the same throughout the series like summons, chocobos, some enemies etc.
There are some carry overs, but as a newbie to the franchise myself, I was never really lost. There is a lot of lore to wrap your head around, but it's its own story, world, and characters, so you aren't really missing out on anything as a new player. I might check out FFVII Remake after this myself! - Aaron
@@pushsquare I appreciate the advice, not sure why I have been as apprehensive as I have when it comes to FF. Well seeing as there is a demo it's no reason not to try it and get my feet wet. Plus I have like 2 FF games in my library that were PS plus freebies I never downloaded. Thank you very much!

This game is great. Let Square handle a proper Naruto game. They’ve shown how well they would do.

It's FF 16 so it's gonna be the best game ever in the history of gaming....well after Tears Of The Kingdom which is also the best game ever......after Elden Ring which is also the most definite best game ever!

So they lied about the sidequest improvements. I dont like being lied to especially when theyre charging damn near 100 dollars for a damn video game. This is why preordering is bad for gaming developers get away with lies all the time just to get pre-orders

After finishing the game fully, here’s my review. First off I will say off the bat this game is completely whitewashed in the sense there’s no other races or skintones in the game besides white, pale, eggshell or any variation of Caucasian. It’s 2023, inclusion is pretty much standard, so why is this game the exception? Are we playing Genshin Impact now? Known to have given Egyptian based characters pale and not tan skin? Square Enix hasn’t given up on NFTs so allying themselves with Tencent to make up for struggling costs, wouldn’t be a surprise. Black, brown or tan characters could’ve been NPCs or quest givers or whatever, but saying “back in old Europe there was only white people” is the dumbest thing the FF devs could have ever said. What history books did they read??? Was it a copy pasta from Wikipedia??? There was not only black peope back then, but in past FF games there was a lot of influence from different cultures! Minwu from FF2, the tan pirate sisters in FF5, the iconic Barret in FF7 and most notably Sazh in FF13 for some examples.
So why make a white character only game in today’s age, is the most backwards thinking I’ve ever witnessed. Gameplay, it’s basically Devil May Cry. If you’ve never played those games, it’s literally THE action adventure gameplay style people love, moving around and spamming abilities into combos. The problem here is that sometimes the frames dip below 60, sometimes the combos randomly end. Later on this gets resolved with other abilities, but it shouldn’t happen to begin with. I believe this is the part where it will divide the FF community, like a fissure in the Grand Canyon: the FF devs worked with the DMC devs because recent Japanese feedback of players have been that the FF games were “boring”. Not specifically stating which titles but just a broad statement. Which is untrue considering each entry has a unique gimmick to them, but if turn based is boring then I could see that, but all FF games being boring is simply false. Was it a right call to make Final Fantasy May Cry? You lose your hardcore fanbase to grab people who never played a FF game. What happens then? They expect FF17 and on to be like that or they’re not interested and there you go, the nonstop cycling of new fans replacing the last fans.
How to solve this? Innovate turn based. This is the company who pioneered JRPGs! Surely they can think of creative new ways, instead of work with a company known for what they do and just lazily input their gameplay in a FF setting. It’s not it, not at all. There are 3 timeskips for Clive and this game turns into a revenge story, typical. The lip syncing and graphics are very good, (no Japanese voice lip syncing) but I just don’t feel connected to the characters. Being the first FF game where you are solo and your “party” is basically NPCs you can’t even control let alone equip them with weapons, further disconnected me with the characters. But I mean you have that hot sex scene with Titan and Garuda right??? Which is ironic considering Sony usually sensors FF games, but maybe because it’s a Sony exclusive this time? Which leads to my next point: why only PS5?
SE isn’t owned by Sony and this isn’t a PlayStation exclusive, so why not go multiplatform to grab more eyes? Combined with the wild sales prediction SE had for this game, they expect THAT many PS5 owners now? And to be into FF to begin with? It’s odd all odd.
Now then the final boss is just something from a movie and I didn’t bother trying to get the Ultimate Weapon since I was done with the game at that point.
Finally, people will love this game, call it goty and not care about the context only for the ride and hey ignorance is bliss sure, but you have to dissect and talk about the obvious issues in this next numbed FF title. It’s a 6 out of ten, mainly for the graphics and gameplay towards the end, the music is also epic as well and even the sex scenes for a FF game, makes me hope Tifa or even Beatrix in the rumored FF9 remake will have theirs as well, but as it stands now like FF15, but it on sale with all the dlc bundled into one, this can be a game you can skip and no one will doubt you for it. Just play the FF12 HD remaster, loads of content and not politically correct. Looking at you Fran and your beautiful tan skin. Where does FF go from here in terms of 17? Who knows, seems like FF7, FF9 and KH4 are on their plate now and honestly they should focus on them. For FF17 reevaluate your priorities to why your company was known as the RPG company.
But who knows, there’s talk some staff are leaving after 16, umaetsu isn’t getting any younger, if FF17 doesn’t go back to a Japanese cast, innovate turn base, actually have a 10+ party member system and return to the basics, 16 might’ve killed the franchise off, but until then FF7R part 2 is on the horizon and only reminds me of the good in SE still left.
Would you be ok with Tom Hanks being the next Black Panther.. King of Wakanda in upcoming Black Panther movies? I mean.. In the name of inclusion 😆

You still give it a 9 with the absolute horrible side quests and where the open fields and roaming around do absolutely nothing to your character? You're drinking too much Kool-Aid
