    Great review as always Thomas! I'm glad VW kept it 5 passenger, it was one of the things that lured me to my 2013. I'm not crazy about the front grille, but overall it's a handsome car.

      The design of this new one lack of criteria as off road luxury suv. The underlined mainly is at "approach" and "departure" angle. The two predecessor has much better of it. And the last one, I wish it comes with 3 locking diff. like g class but I can't see it will happen, at least until now. Oh please God..............

    The new Touareg looks stunning especially with the impressive R-Line exterior package!🔥😍 Overall the Touareg is the best looking SUV in its class!🔝 The structure of the “Innovision Cockpit” seems to be very logical and self-explaining even if there are sadly no buttons left for the climate control.👍 Thank you VW for offering big and befitting engines like the V6 petrol/diesel, V8 diesel(!) and for not using fake exhaust pipes at this beautiful SUV.🙏👏 I hope VW will offer the VR6 in the Arteon very soon :| Thanks for the video, Thomas

    Volkswagens design team has really stepped up in the last couple of years. This looks really clean both in and outside.

    • @volkswagensucks4836
      @volkswagensucks4836 6 лет назад +1

      Kentajävel Volkswagen's design team stepped up to what? It's an Audi Q5 with a different grill. They don't have a design team, they have a photo copy machine that spits out "new" generations of cars.

    • @kentaoriginal
      @kentaoriginal 6 лет назад +3

      0/8, go bait elsewhere

    • @larry8065
      @larry8065 6 лет назад

      It really does look like a Q5 with an Arteon mouth. Doesn't bring anything new design-wise, typical VW.

    • @kentaoriginal
      @kentaoriginal 6 лет назад +2

      Arteon is a new design and so is the new Q5. And still I dont see no resemblance whatsoever. The only thing that looks similar is the taillights that look like an updated version of the ones in the facelift CC. If you want the same design over all models, take a look at Volvo/Merc/Bmw. Haters gonna hate.

    • @AkioWasRight

    Exterior is typical Volkswagen flair, nothing much to expect there but the interior is quite impressive and has a much more cozier/natural feel than Q7 I think. Audi would have to update their pasted on center info screen as Volkswagen has got them beaten.
    Tops to Thomas for the relaxed review.

    Loved the unpronounceable German lesson for today Thomas - many thanks! This Touareg 3 looks like the big brother to a Mk2 Tiguan SEL with Outdoor Pack - with its squarer shape, raked rear hatch window, and similar headlights. Liked the bright coloured interior version with the blue paintwork.

      There are more words in the English language than many other European languages so we Brits are not stupid when it comes to languages.
      Personally I quite like the German language but some words are more difficult to pronounce than others and trying to pronounce "Wankstabilisierung" if one doesn't speak any German is asking a lot.

    • @gordonbennett6057
      @gordonbennett6057 6 лет назад

      cbcdesign001and SJW Maniac - agree. I personally like the German language. And Italian. I like all languages. I have great admiration for those with any talent. I speak a little French, but I am not talented! In my comment, I was just remarking that I always enjoy all Thomas's trademark sayings: eg his "German Lesson For Today" trademark, his "Thomas Driving Lounge", his "80-100...plop!", and his other sayings, etc! Cheers guys.

    I think the LED lights with Dynamic Light Assist that Tiguan, Passat and Golf have, also allow for having the high beam on all the time as it automatically adjust the light as not to dazzle oncoming traffic - isn`t it the matrix LED already? If not, then what is it? What is the advanatage of a matrix LED??? It would be quite nice to see some review of todays lighting systems as it is quite confusing. It is also quite expensive item on today's cars and one is not really sure how worthwhile it actually may be.

    I've long been a fan of the Touareg! I was thinking of waiting for this newest version....but late last year got a great deal on a 2017 USA model Wolfburg Edition with only 1,600 miles (driven by a VW Manager) and couldn't resist. Will definitely consider trading up to this newest version in a few years! But for now loving my 2017! Thanks for your excellent reviews Tomas / Autogefuhl.

    Dieser neue Touareg gehört definitiv zum Premiumsegment!
    VW macht sich hier Konkurrenz im eigenen Haus (Audi Q7) und konkurriert gleichzeitig mit Mercedes & BMW. Eine interessante aber auch sehr risikoreiche Strategie.

    Excellent review from Thomas, as always. The 15'' infotainment...with touch controls only, why are manufacturers going in this direction? Design over practicality and, dare I say, safety. It is much more convenient to have separate controls for basic features such as climate control, seat heating, etc. It is all going to be too virtual for me...or I am getting old...

    Great Review Thomas! Here in North America we are definitely saddened that Volkswagen has decided not to bring the Flagship Touareg. I am a Touareg owner, and believe Volkswagen is making a huge mistake only offering the ATLAS. For the premium segment market here in North America we are staying hopeful that Volkswagen will reverse this decision and bring the Touareg back. In the meantime, I will continue to enjoy my V8 Tourage and wait.

    Bravo, Thomas! 👏🏻
    Personally, I prefer the exterior design of the previous gen with rounded, softer edges.
    Same with Audi models especially the A5.
    ?: have any studies been done that show how (little) much of the tech presented to the occupants is actually utilized on a regular basis?
    The amount of technology fitted seems to be overkill unless you find yourself sitting on a ferry with time to kill 😎
    I believe buttons/knobs for volume and climate controls are a must to help reduce drivers distraction.

    Excellent, comprehensive preview Thomas. Given that the mayor of Copenhagen has stated his intention to ban all new (Euro 6) diesel powered cars (ignoring older, more polluting diesel engines) by 2018, what are your thoughts on the engine line up for this new Touareg; assuming other cities throughout Europe could follow his lead?
