I loved seeing all if your baubles & bits! Thank you so much for sharing this tree ornament idea. I WISH I knew how-to make these after my husband passed. I would have cut-up one if his shirts and made trees for the family as a memorial to him❤
Ah they're so pretty Christine and I reckon you could even get kids involved with the plaiting part, love that you get to use up some hoarded beads as weell as the fabrics. I might just be able to squeeze a few more things on to my slow-stitched tree ... :)
Hi Christine, thank you so much for this idea! It's fabulous. I'm going to get to work on a miniature for my tabletop tree. 🎄 I think every sewing list needs to have pliers on it, right by needles and thread. Every stitcher I know uses pliers. They come in quite handy. TFS 😊
Hi Christine, thanx for showing how to create this lovely tree, very effective xxx I'm loving all you crafters out there sharing all the different xmas decoration ideas 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
A lil' tip? When trying to braid or macrame long strands, its helpful to wind up the ends in little bundles, and secure with rubber bands, and then pull them out as needed. Keeps all your strands out of your way.❤🎉
That’s a pretty design, and so effective! The red and green work really well together. Could you plait in stranded beads as well? If you bundle up the tails and clip them with your fabric clips, would they get tangled less? I guess moving the clips would be annoying though. Also, if you turned the little silver heart over and then topped it with a tiny pearl, would it look like angel wings? I love hearing about Lucy the dog! Pets are definitely no respecter of tidiness and organisation! 🤣
I really love how you use fabric for the background on your studio desk. It really is very pleasing to watch compared to a plain desk or stark fabric cutting mat! Kudos for this. 🤍✌️
New subscriber. I love the little Christmas tree. It’s beautiful. I’m definitely going to give some of these a go, gorgeous ornaments for a tree or a card, they could be utilised in many different ways and I have lots and lots of material lying in my stash, another way to use some of it. Thanks for the inspiration and I’m looking forward to many more of your videos. I cant see well enough at the moment but I’m waiting for surgery and praying that I’ll be able to see well enough afterwards to do something like this. I used to do a lot of things that were small but it’s impossible for me to see to thread a needle or sew anything. I think I’m going to love your channel.
Whoa! A true example of 100% upcycling, including the secondhand thread kit! I love it! This is how all crafts should be in this era of mass waste!

If you feel the thread is breaking, put the thread in the freezer for a few days. It will put moisture back into the threads.
What was the length you started with? Width is 1.5” ??
@@linsfruit5240 hello - it was the width of the fabric so approximately 1m. Cheers, Christine
