    It’s like you’re one of the only music production channels on RUclips actually teaching techniques for real life scenarios, whilst other vary from exceedingly theoretical to pure obnoxious infotainment.
    As a person working with major labels on the regular, i can say that these tips separate a talented producer from a seasoned one. The latter being more adaptive in the ever-changing landscape due to actually knowing why something works, not just what works.
    One fun EQ tip I’ve discovered in a mixing session recently - if a vocal feels strained try lowering around 900 - 1.2kHz area. Listen to the band in audition mode until you start yawning. I call this area the “old man strain”. When attenuated, it makes the vocalist sound more professional in the vocal pressure area and makes the vocal airier without losing any punch and low-mid body.

      @sageaudio  3 года назад +4

      Thanks Daniel! Great to hear that you find these techniques both advanced and valuable in professional settings!

    While there are no hacks/shortcuts/formulas in this field because literally everything is subjective and situational at the same time, the video is very informative. I strongly recommend against these titles as newbies will start taking this knowledge for a sure formula rather than taking the knowledge as a grain of salt and understand ing what’s going on and which situations is this knowledge applicable for.

      Thanks for watching this one! You're right! There is definitely a level of subjectivity to mixing and mastering, but there is a lot of objectivity as well. For example, the sections on nasal and vowel frequencies near the end of the video will apply to just about every voice - that said, I see what you mean about being more transparent about the subjectivity of these things.

    Notice: Inflator is not an upward compressor, it's a waveshaper, there's a big difference..

      It is when using a positive curve value. It also causes odd ordered harmonics and mild soft-knee downward compression.

    I love the actual information in this video, but I have to say...It doesn't represent the content as well, when your microphone has too much gain and low frequencies. Awesome video though!
