Mark and Nsima, I’m new to the channel and instantly became addicted. I never even liked podcasts and didn’t understand why everyone liked them. But for some reason this podcast is so special to me. You guys help me make better decisions everyday in my life whether it to go a little harder in my workouts, try something new, keep making good decisions with my diet. When you guys did the podcast with the cold plunge dude and Mark was saying “I’m not trying to be competitive and beat everybody, I just don’t want to be a loser” I wrote that down and kept it in my wallet. Im currently trying to lose weight, I was 246 pounds in July 2021 and im down to 205 and sometimes it’s a real fucking grind and I wanna quit but you guys really keep me inspired and keep me going. I know you probably hear that a lot and are used to it but from the bottom of my heart, I love you guys like you are my friends.
I’m sled dragging, pushing and walking barefoot all the time. Feels good to actually articulate your toes. I’m from the south though we didn’t even have shoes until the 90’s….
Love the brotherly/healthy energy in this vid! Y’all are super open, fun, and not taking your egos too seriously, which made this a blast to watch as y’all dropped crazy knowledge on us and kept me tuned in the whole time
I am enjoying sprinting basically barefoot (Vibram KSO EVO with 3 mm sole) often on asphalt roads… toughens your feet up. It’s more fun on grass. On asphalt or concrete you definetly need a perfect movement pattern, otherwise you can destroy a lot of tissue. He is spot on, sprinting gives you life and athleticism. It improves metabolism instead of slowing it down, like jogging and the other slow crap does. I hate it to run slower than 10 miles per hour. And I love everything above 15 mph. Never too late to learn how to move. I am 55, started Running with 53 years and made everything wrong, went through all the typical destruction. like 95% of the runners do. Wrong Shoes, narrow toe boxes, slow running and all the other crap… barefoot alone won’t save you. You need to understand how to take advantage of the natural bows and spirals that generate and store energy in your spine, muscles and ligaments. If you move correctly there is No pain, no destruction. Just fun. You don’t even need to stretch, if you move correctly. GOATA has changed everything for me. Meanwhile I do even my deadlifts IABH. No normal squats anymore. Only bow squats, etc…
The algorithm has classified Graham and I in the same cluster. I can’t believe he said “dialogos” and talked about the walled garden. I have been wearing barefoot shoes for 18 months now. Not a coincidence, you are brought along on thoughts by the type of person you are.
Love this podcast A year ago I had a massive mental breakdown that left me lost and not knowing if tomorrow will come. Listening to you all and the lessons you learnt has help give me guidance, thats helped me make leaps towards happiness. Cant express in words the gratitude I have toward you ❤
Graham reminds me of that Nietzsche quote “Anyone with a why to live can bear nearly any how.” When he talks about his experiences with psychedelics. Good for him.
I bought Vivo’s because of this podcast back in January and they have made a world of difference…. Currently using on a treadmill and running 5 miles in about 45-50 min which is a best time for me… thank you guys
Appreciate all that he’s saying I’m trying my hardest to process all his information , I just wish he could slow down a little bit. The information is kind of coming out sporadically
Solid podcast overall. It’s nice how well you guys do at letting your guests actually speak!! That being said.. the man went so fast😂 slow it down a little ! Also, speaks a lot of absolutes.. which are really just his own opinions.
i personally like it when people state their opinions directly like this. if you find something to be true, say it as such. you don't need a placebo controlled double blind study to be able to say something assertively. now if you think there's a significant risk if you are wrong, or there are some large questions left unanswered about your belief, than disclose that skepticism alongside your opinion.
I haven't bought any barefoot shoes yet but I took the soles out of my shoes and I'm already noticing improvements in my feet muscles and my foot and lower leg pain it's incredible
when I was a kid I used to run barefoot all the time, I ended up having horrible pain and could barely walk. Mom took me to the doctor and he said I have to wear tennis shoes.
Yo bilateral foot crush guy here. Graham’s big toe lateral stretch was and is so pivotal for me. I literally can’t do ROKP just to paint a picture and this exercise was the first thing to desensitize and actually work my big toe 👌
I probably have the flattest feet on earth lol. I wish I had focused more on foot function and strength in my college football career. I agree with how bad cleats can be. In retro spec that was a main cause for my knee pain and poor running posture in long distances.
Was not able to see the actual execution of tips 3-5 on "How can someone get their arch back?" part. Right after the big toe joystick exercise. hope to see how it looks like. Thanks a lot! Learned a lot in this episode too.
I’m still doing the Powerlifting thing … because it still brings me joy lol. But recently (last decade) I got into OCR like Spartan Race and Tough Mudder. Longest one was about 14.5 miles (Spartan Beast). I love both worlds. I plan on continuing with both Powerlifting and OCR (Obstacle Course Racing).
Graham seems like a nice and honest guy, and I agree with everything he is saying, but my difficulty is the more I know the less I think it's possible to know anything with certainty. Jean Pierre Meersseman fixed Clarence Seedorf groin by removing his wisdom tooth. Whattttt? Think about that.
its crazy how much of what he's talking about @ around 1hr +- 20min could be applied to golf... You dont "do golf" you "play golf"... Very interesting guy.
I love this show but this was one of the hardest episodes to watch I actually couldn't finish it because this dude was so out in left field it was insane He's obviously intelligent but like man like come on like let somebody respond to what you're saying and honestly like I don't even know what he started 15 different topics and never finished one of them so I never really got much out of anything he said it was horrible
Forgive me if people have stated this before: But I just noticed that Mr. Mark Bell looks like a shorter version of The Undertaker "Mark Calaway", He'd be an excellent guest
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. I agree, but I’m reading this comment right at the point of the podcast where Mark says “I’m being disagreeable just for the audience to get the most out of this” playing devil’s advocate
He talks to much for me.And the part about pain just being in ur head is absolute bullshit. I had a bulging disc and a trapped nerve and that pain was Very Real
Jeezus dude. Get to the point or pragmatic information, maybe a little faster. Mark: So Graham why do you think people have weak feet? Graham: That’s the thing, in 1783 when the South American jungle began being deforested for rubber production people accidentally got melted rubber on their feet and realized it added a protective layer…then in 1909 people began transitioning into jobs that required less walking and more sitting…and in 1945 when men started returning from WWII. 😂 killing me bro

Finally, someone who’s doing with passion over barefoot shoes! I’ve been wearing vibrams for a few years now and it’s made such a difference!
Just drank a scoop of gorilla mode nitric and oxy shred together listening to this guy talk on 1.5 x. Next level learning bro.

Chances are, of the 25k people to have seen this, one WAS whacking it right when nsima did his little cutaway
Me: “Oh look a podcast about foot health!”
Graham: “Want a bagel? nO tHe KiTcHeN’s On FiRe”
This is great!! I’m heavy and ran a half marathon a few months ago… I didn’t realize how running barefoot could really help me.
The shows have been very high quality lately, keep it up guys!!!
Great episode! I love how you guys are branching out with topics, and educating
Can we get the video of these exercises and mobility drills PLEASE?
I second this!

An hour and 16 minutes in and Mark has said 3.5 words. Two of those were about big boobs. “Go on.” 😂

OK, for this interview, I am just going to wait until Andrew breaks this into more digestible parts.

Sounds like Theo describing Eddie bravo
I almost think of those running shoes as a bench shirt. It’s a tool for competitors to lift more weight. BUT, you gotta be strong raw first.
Ngl this might be my favorite episode so far
Thank you Nsima for normalizing big toes 💀cause as a 5’8” Latina, my feet are big and I have a big ol’ toe 😂

Shoot baskets while wearing wrestling shoes. You'll learn how to use your feet better and not rely on heal-braking.
Super interesting episode! But hard work to listen to with Graham speaking at warp speed and barely finishing sentences.
He is a fantastic speeed-speeeker.
Water aerobics at about 4 feet of water is a good regression also
I ran the LA Marathon barefoot in 2012.
