also zergs typically place the way up on the square next to the front door and add a window on the side they share, this allows you to peek through and shoot doorcampers and raiders, and if you place ur furnace room in between 2 loot rooms instead of on the outer square it prevents the raiders from being able to spash into 2 lootrooms at once

The 5x5 is a good base to build only it's purpose was to be built as a better starter. Clans playing around early 2018-mid 2018 would normally build a honey combed 3x3 (missing the square corners) which is only an 8 rocket raid as their starter. When people learned you can glitch triangle floors through each other and use it to add internal peek downs the 5x5 became a much better choice as a starter since it would still be 8 rockets to your loot but you could defend much better from online raids. The base is simple to build but also easy to raid the issue started happening where people got lazy and just only built a 5x5 for their main base. You can pummel through any side of the base straight into the exposed core. You can also pummel straight down since it's just a big square. Most of the time groups will leave most of the garage doors on their jump ups open allowing people to go deep through the roof. You would normally place turrets on the corners of the base so they wouldn't get hit by rockets from people pummeling though the side. Though you can take out the turrets and still four walls by just shooting the corners.
Wow thank you very much for taking the time to write that, some of these concepts pre-date me playing the game, It was great to learn a bit of the history behind these concepts and the adaptations made by players!

We actually build something similar but instead of boxes in the elevator we normally run turrets and for the transition piece shotgun traps focused on both levels in the elevator and outside which has helped alot more than expected
👍 *_'d_* Solid basics all new players should learn. Also good that you explained a large base like this _will_ attract raiders. You should put something like 'Raid Tips' or 'Raid Basics' in the title too - Good advice there as well. #OldManPaxus Rating: ★★ ½
For the third level where the interior peak downs are at if you place the shop front the opposite way enemy's can't ladder up as the hatch blocks the way
WTF, this is the second video ive seen from you and in one week wipe I've seen both base designs. I raided this one today! I went through doors, they didnt have garage doors through the main area though so it was just 2 sheet metal doors and 2 garage door for TC room and main loot,
Generally the tc should go away from the front door simply to put as many doors in between it and the outside. Now the thing with this base is raiders will most likely go through 4 walls at a time, they will never blow out those 4 walls with 1 being the door frame (since it is simply cheaper to go through the doors in that case). So its a kind of a balancing act
That may be true, I thought this base was a very interesting idea, it exists pretty much for an online raid, which means the players are interesting only in this type of meta. Brings good memories!
To be fair I had a general idea about how to build this but now I know a couple key things like floor placement for the peek down and the TC room with three large boxes in the floor, I never managed to make three fit and now I feel stupid for thinking it couldn't be done lol. Still, I play only solo and duo so it's not like I'm going to build this.
Im pretty sure if it has not changed yet. When placing full or half walls you do not need to place the triangle just look towards the base of the wall if its a half wall below where you want to place the new one. This will force the blue wall above the one already placed if it is a full wall just do it normally. Dont have to waste wood on that twig
This base is like a cookie recipe: everyone says they have a better way to do it

Whenever I do something stupid....I know I can just look at yoootooob comments and feel like a genius!! Some of the comments people leave show they didn't watch the vid, didn't listen to the vid, or are of questionable IQ.
I commend you on responding to comments and staying professional!!!
I appreciate the motivational words my friend, they are greatly appreciated. Peoples passion can manifest in many ways, if that way happens to be someone directing insults to me or my content, I am fine with that... It means they at least love the game enough.
@@MyGamingExperience that's a great point!
We actually build something similar but instead of boxes in the elevator we normally run turrets and for the transition piece shotgun traps focused on both levels in the elevator and outside which has helped alot more than expected
thats pretty solid
Me as a solo knowing i will never build this base but still interested in this video
it's poopy anyway
it was good entertainment
@@MyGamingExperience jk I like it it's just that the upkeep is impossible
Smoke Weed Everyday not really i use a base design like this allmost exactly the same actually and we managed
@@stongray4893 in an official server?
That first design is awesome. Building it next wipe.
awesome
@@MyGamingExperience I'll let u know how it goes.
👍 *_'d_* Solid basics all new players should learn. Also good that you explained a large base like this _will_ attract raiders. You should put something like 'Raid Tips' or 'Raid Basics' in the title too - Good advice there as well.
#OldManPaxus Rating: ★★ ½
Indeed, sometimes the basics are the key. I like the idea of raid tips and basics
i built the "el padre" which is the same base desgin minus inner peaks and i love this, i like how spacious it is
it is really good for groups, very spacious like you said, we actually use a similar design now in rusticated main
Now my question is
How do i not get shot while doing this?
hmmmm
High ex stone walls
Elias Nylund helis
Elias Nylund also my 5x I play on has ability to spawn helis
Bro this video was quality, I’m subbing 100%. Keep it up!
Thank you for letting me earn your sub! welcome!
“Wow this thing is so big, i’ve heard that before”
haha
Love it. Subbed. I always see the pros use this base
Thank you for the sub! A lot of the pvp groups use this base
Raided base exactly like this in first 30 min of playing on server by landing mini on the top. All the doors were open lul :)
oh rip, yeah sometimes groups make those mistakes, it is very fun to get an advantage from that :)
Bro thanks for the tutorial i was trying to find some good large base design for me and my 3 teammates so thank you so much!
Your welcome! Thank you for the kind words!
If u can build something like that, so you can raid something like that.
that is true
My favourite base! Thanks for the video!
No problem 👍
This vid should be titled "bases you can build that I can easily raid" lmfao
Dayuumm
Keali'i Cooper come raid one of my bases, I’ll play solo you take a teammate or two
@@dgenbraking you're so cocky it's funny
Lightning I mean he said show him something hard to raid and I’m confident in my base defense. It’s a 2x2 it’s nothing I’ll try my best!
For the third level where the interior peak downs are at if you place the shop front the opposite way enemy's can't ladder up as the hatch blocks the way
that is smart
WTF, this is the second video ive seen from you and in one week wipe I've seen both base designs. I raided this one today! I went through doors, they didnt have garage doors through the main area though so it was just 2 sheet metal doors and 2 garage door for TC room and main loot,
Oh nice
I liked your stone to metal frags transition
Honestly i did too, it was good fun, thank you :)
is there a specific reason why tc always goes to opposite direction of door, on the builds?
Generally the tc should go away from the front door simply to put as many doors in between it and the outside. Now the thing with this base is raiders will most likely go through 4 walls at a time, they will never blow out those 4 walls with 1 being the door frame (since it is simply cheaper to go through the doors in that case). So its a kind of a balancing act
thank you, i needed this my squads base design are bad. this is perfect
nice
@@MyGamingExperience any high external walls placement video?
I feel like everyone knew how to build this before watching, they just enjoy watching Mge
That may be true, I thought this base was a very interesting idea, it exists pretty much for an online raid, which means the players are interesting only in this type of meta. Brings good memories!
@@MyGamingExperience truely!! Love ur content
I'm gonna try that out, i always struggle with those type of walls
