LMFAOO 1:32 when his voice cracks makes me laugh soo hard!!! lol and this is just amazing by the way... the way he remembers every card in order and the last part was brilliant
i can remeber the order of a whole deck of cards like that. Derren Brown, Tricks of the mind, shows you the memory techniques... not the one needed for this ofcourse but i had to train myself to do it
I had to pause the video because I was laughing so much. Up to that point he's so suave and composed and then he completely destroys the image with the biggest voice crack ever.
Well Done Derren ... well done .. you have taken a classic old trick and arranged it to suit your needs.. five kings fought three score to save nine queens for one sick knave eh ? well prepared mate well prepared ! the showmanship was good but trick a golden oldie !
Exactly. If your read his book Tricks of the Mind, you to can and will achieve amazing memory techniques. In this particular piece of magic we find mnemonics and a bit of trickery, just his style. You can actually memorize a hold deck of cards. In the early mentioned book, he dedicates a section on how to do that very amazing feat. There are three different methods that he utilizes: the Linking System, the Logi System and the Peg System. Google them and see for yourself.
im learning to learn a pack of card, but im not sure if he learns them in the few seconds. I know sometimes he gives them a pack which has an order so that when she suffles it goes to an order he learnt earlier. Its nuts that the whole trick lies in her shuffling in a predicable manner, but it can be done
dont say "its simple". the concept is simple but it takes years to master. he also made the story or whatever he does to remember them in around 5 seconds. he is an intelligent man with a gift. i think hes great too
I want to think its an audio messup, but it's possible. I've had that happen to me, and people look at me, but its usually only when I swallow the wrong way, or smoke a cig wrong.
exactly , i spotted that what you mentioned ,his finger at 6:44 = shape of heart , then he points at her with indexfinger finger are in shape of a J(ack) and some movement with hands painting something front of her
ok enough. Derren is by far a great SHOWMAN. this is a very old card trick modified to make him appear as if he has a masterful memory skill. you wanna know? ok you wonderful fools...there are no "image recognition" devices, no "power of suggestions." the deck is...you're all gonna love this...SWITCHED to one he already has memorized. watch the order of cards in the woman's shuffle and then watch the order in the execution. got it now?
well, i figured out how the end part could be done.. although i dunno if thats the technique he uses... and i know a way to do a variation of the first part, although i dunno if thats the method he uses. i wish i could get a damn hold of DPB where he reveals it
Yes he does, I agree, I think the heart symbol is made to subliminally infleunce her. Also, Dai Vernon is a semi famous magician these days but his name sounds like Verin, or Jack, in French. I think he uses this name to prompt er to think of Jack.
I don't know about the early parts, but the last part... all he had to do was make sure all the cards he threw out landed face down, but get someone (maybe under the dock?) to float the Jack of hearts in the water after hearing what she said. Cool trick.
Yes it's true, Derren is gay. He admitted in a newspaper interview in '07 " You should always come out; life is so much easier. People generally aren't as bothered by your intimate secrets as as you are. It took me being in a relationship with a guy for a month before I told anyone I was thus inclined. If anything, I was disappointed to learn that it wasn't much of a surprise. Possibly my penchant for interior decor had given the game away."
history recalls of a man named RASPUTIN.. rasputin was a very rude, crude, foul-mouthed, dirty, drunk (yet had mass charm with hoards of people) that made his way to become basically the mind behind russia..
Ok, I agree that hes possibly forcing a card, hes good at that, but watching it several times now, a bunch of other cards also flick around a few times as they're going down too, so its still pretty fucking impressive regardless.
Actually, "vérin" means "jack" but not in the context of cards. In French, we say "valet" for a Jack. Also "Di", pronounced the way he did, wouldn't suggest "de" in French.. Nevertheless, it is an interesting theory!
Lmao, God his swearing is funny XD Suprised he didnt say his favourite swear word lol. And his voice seem to be out of tuned sometimes..XD Bless his soul.
Man...even the simplest tricks he does are brilliant! I am fan now...keep it up Derren.
LMFAOO 1:32 when his voice cracks makes me laugh soo hard!!!
lol and this is just amazing by the way... the way he remembers every card in order and the last part was brilliant
Surely one of the coolest thing you can do with a deck of cards. Fantastic job :)
I love Derren's interval monologues, so funny.
wow ... its so pretty tricks or no tricks its amazing...
Derren Brown is without contest the most amazing person alive!! What he is capable of!! O_o
i can remeber the order of a whole deck of cards like that. Derren Brown, Tricks of the mind, shows you the memory techniques... not the one needed for this ofcourse but i had to train myself to do it

Not only did he remember them. He had to recount what he'd seen in reverse order. It's unbelievable.
Well Done Derren ... well done .. you have taken a classic old trick and arranged it to suit your needs.. five kings fought three score to save nine queens for one sick knave eh ? well prepared mate well prepared ! the showmanship was good but trick a golden oldie !
On eBay there is several listings. But I am positive you can purchase or order it from any book shop.

the intro rocked.. I skipped it until I saw the comment :p
..also.. when he was guessing the cards.. I was expecting them to suddenly start making out
im learning to learn a pack of card, but im not sure if he learns them in the few seconds. "...part of the trick is to slow down time..." what a baller!
Hi is so funny in the beginning! XD
he dont go to casinos anymore coz he's fucking banned from them all. GENIUS! my hero.
he is so hilariously sarcastic.
That place was unbeleivably beautiful. It seemed unreal
Its Monaco/Monte Carlo in the South of France, and yes it is indeed gorgeous :)
he sounds like a teenager haha! 1:31 and again at 4:30. 06:44 funny... his still a genius
Anyone knows how this is done? Its fantastic!
there is just a camera that records the riffling in slow motion (!) and a buddy of his team tells him in a earplug.
exactly , i spotted that what you mentioned ,his finger at 6:44 = shape of heart , then he points at her with indexfinger finger are in shape of a J(ack) and some movement with hands painting something front of her

no he's really young, only 37 I believe, which is very impressive
unfreakinbelievable
I bet he added the two-sided Jack of Hearts when he was talking about Diverner (or however you spell it) around 6:26 or so...
well, i figured out how the end part could be done.. although i dunno if thats the technique he uses... and i know a way to do a variation of the first part, although i dunno if thats the method he uses. i wish i could get a damn hold of DPB where he reveals it
the music is fuckin wel good
plus derren is just fuckin amazin
"Heres a place you'll never go"
He also puts his fist near his chest(heart) when he says that.
wow good obserbations..
"Who's the *sumthing* *sumthing* or something", "I tend to come here in one of my big fucking expansive yachts" :D He's hilarious
I noticed that as he is flicking the cards into the water he appears to only flick one card from his left hand. This must be the jack of Hearts?
Yes he does, I agree, I think the heart symbol is made to subliminally infleunce her. Also, Dai Vernon is a semi famous magician these days but his name sounds like Verin, or Jack, in French. I think he uses this name to prompt er to think of Jack.
wow that woman's crackin;)
Truly an epic lulz, I must say!
does he have a photographic memory???
I don't know about the early parts, but the last part... all he had to do was make sure all the cards he threw out landed face down, but get someone (maybe under the dock?) to float the Jack of hearts in the water after hearing what she said. Cool trick.
is this what they call card counting?
oooooooooh good explanation
Ah, the intro is so hilarious.
where can i learn this?
have you proves off it???
How do you know?
While he distracts her to move her ahnd above his eyes, he switches the decks with one that he has memorised.
Yes it's true, Derren is gay. He admitted in a newspaper interview in '07

Is there any particular technique for that or is it just practicing with more and more cards for shitloads of time?
yes... Yes... YES!
And when he counts the cards, he stops at jack and then continues with a heart. Maybe I´m just over-analyzing. :D
exactly what i was thinking
what is that? "stabbing emotion"?
yep he's a legend
he's memorizing the order.
@eurythorpe yes. he is.
1:31... How old is he again? is his voice breaking?
1:30 Greatest testy pop ever XD
god he's amazing. i can't even tell if its a trick or not
Monte Carlo's where he goes to get away from "Tramps and Fans". 0.19!
i dont know why you disabled the ratings...5 freakin star!!!how the heck did he do that?!?!
yes...yes...yes...ah...omg...yes... oh yes...
what a legend
I bet that Derren Brown has a twin brother and they're both as potentially knowledgeable, that would be interesting ahaha
dude he is genius
He says: "now youre gonna shuffle the cards and im gonna memorise the order of the cards in the deck.. does it make sense?" And im: No -.-
genius :)
Actually, yes, he is. But why would that make any difference? He's brilliant!
I am so glad this man is gay. There wouldn't be any women left otherwise.
At 1:30, listen for his massive voice squeek.
First time i've heard him swear.
oh yea, and i think the french lady has the hots for him XD
thats what i was thinking :)
Ok, I agree that hes possibly forcing a card, hes good at that, but watching it several times now, a bunch of other cards also flick around a few times as they're going down too, so its still pretty fucking impressive regardless.
slow down time .... or have a photographic memory like him XD
yeh your so right
LOL his voice cracks hardcore 1:31

Haha the introduction was shocking
Lmao, God his swearing is funny XD Suprised he didnt say his favourite swear word lol. And his voice seem to be out of tuned sometimes..XD Bless his soul.
You mean the mnemonics for remembering stuff that he describes in the book? Well no, that is not the way how he achieved this.
i have the dpb and its not revealed this one.
Ofcourse it is. What'd you expect?
i didnt see the jokers for sure..
LOL!!!
haah funny.
voice hella cracked
