Who would’ve thought singing about dying would put me in such a good mood
Listened to this album back to back now. Ghost are amazing and the best thing to happen to not just rock, but all music for a very long time.
A real lesson of humility and humanity, I'm NOT SURE if that was Tobias's message with this song, BUT, that's what I am taking from it. And nobody could make it all sound as good as Tobias does. A totally unique voice.
I absolutely adore this song, it’s gorgeous, but since you’re curious about the meaning... it’s basically Tobias’s diss track about his former bandmates, who sued him for extra money after they left Ghost. “Swede Saint Peter” refers directly to Simon Soderberg, Ghost’s former guitarist. The “do not forget your knives” refers to them backstabbing him. The lines “don’t you vomit savage slurs...” and “had you had the chance today, you could have sold out too” are pretty self evident. Google “Ghost lawsuit” if you want to know more about it. They lost and now owe him a ton of legal fees.
@@WhiteVioletButterfly Isn't there another song on Prequel that mentions the whole trial situation as well as "pro-memoria?" "A pack of fools will take the stand" is a part of the lyrics of THAT song. For some reason I can't think of the name of THAT song, but, I know the beat is much more "rock n roll" than Pro memoria. Sorry, I just can't think of the name of it right now. I'll think of it right after I click on the "reply" button here. :)

I played this cd in my good friends car because my cars CD player is dead, I played it and apoligized for the devilish lyrics, BUT, she was fine, and understood the lyrics about (pro memoria) the devil "Lucifer whispering, silently into your mind" and "who walks behind" etc. So Anyways, I really am thinking that Ghost's music is really great, I am wondering why somebody can't just admit that they can't go along with some of GHost'S MUSIC, ETC. I PERSONALLY will be helping to play all of GHOST'S CD "Prequel" BUT, I will try to hear all of the songs on this Cd and I don't care if I don't include a song or 2 .
