I've got the T2 version of this saw and absolutely love it. Something to consider, and you may have a good reason for doing this, but you typically don't want to screw your throat plate down. The plate sits on top of the screws, and the holes give you access to raise and lower the screws so you can level your plate with the table top. Nice overview of the saw!
i have had the same saw for about 8 years and agree its by far the best tablesaw in the price range. Rigid changed their saw recently and is now identical to the Delta saw with different paint. I also added a cast iron router table to the right side
Glad I found this video. I am in the market of upgrading my table saw. Have been using a 21 year old Hitachi that has served its purpose. Had to constantly tweak it to keep it true. I am ready for a new one. Will checkout this Delta.
Wow - that's quite a nice review! I need to upgrade my very, very old Ryobi BT3000 saw and am looking for something like the Delta 36-725 T2. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. 👍
1970’s or early 80’s Craftsman 113 with 3 hp motor, handed down from my Dad. I added a Vega 50” fence and built a full cabinet to support it. It will do almost as much as my Dad’s Powermatic. Cost: $400 plus 2 sheets of 3/4 MDF & a few 2x4’s and locking caster wheels.
I have the 60s 113 with a 3hp compressor motor and the VEGA Pro 50 fence. I purchased my grandfathers cabinet shop in the late 80s. He had a Rockwell Unisaw, I put a T Square on it, Mid 60s 113, a early 70s 113, I put VEGA Pro 50s on them and he had his first mid 50s 8" ~ 1/2 arbor table saw. When I sold the shop I kept the 60s 113. There is early 90s belt drive 113 close by me that the guy is giving away for Free on Facebook. I'd get it and put a VEGA Pro 50 on it but I'm Table saw poor right now with a early 2000s Delta Unisaw, the old craftsman with a VEGA Pro 50 and this Delta 36-725.
I used to have a Delta 715-36 hybrid table saw but I have never seen this saw in person so this may not apply. Adjust the front fence rail to position it closer to the cast iron table, the closer it is to the table the less the fence will wiggle when you move it. The fence should always return to be parallel to the miter slots when you lock it, if it does not, there are positioning screws to fix the problem.
Just picked up the Delta's sister saw - the Ridgid R4560 (15amp) - last weekend on clearance at HD for $399! Haven't had a chance to set it up yet but I'm psyched.
Same saw I bought. Love it. Mine is about 7 months old, 725T I think. Dont use the anti-kickback attachment to the riving knife. Mine fell off and guess what's right below it? Shot that think like a rocket across 30ft shop. I thought it was locked in, maybe not, maybe so. It gone now. My fence same, got to watch it. And yes, as mentioned below, Rigid is the same saw. I think maybe made by Delta. And yes, really want a router table there. And I need laser to decorate stuff!
Bought mine about 11 years ago, when I was a young 56 year old wood worker. Yes, that means I'm older than 30. Unfortunately, in 2023, they don't make this anymore. I am not impressed with 36-725 T2. The only thing I did differently than you is that I re-wired it to run on 220. That cannot be done on the T2 model. I think the fence is great if you adjust it in accordance with the instructions in the owner's manual.
Yup, this is a good table saw, mine works great it holds its setup over time with basic maintenance. This saw works above its price point and has 80% of the features of more expensive table saws at 30% the price. I'm curious about your blade choice. I replaced the OEM blade with a 10" full kerf similar to the one you have and it has improved the saw's performance. I also have a thin kerf but rarely use it.
cool video.Im thinking of getting a Ridgid cast iron top ,( cant get Delta out here in Hawaii unfortunately) but I believe they are very similar. Loved your daughter laughing. nice touch!.
I really want one of these, but i need to be able to wheel the saw from my shed in the back to the driveway up front and need much larger wheels, like what's on the Ridgid pop-up miter saw stand, so I'm stuck with a more traditional contractor job site body form. Unfortunately, i haven't found one that takes dado blades yet.
Power and stability. Cabinet saws bases are super stable and don’t allow and wiggle at all. These saws are made to be mobile so with that comes a little movement even when it’s off it’s wheels.
That’s a great saw I’ve used it plenty but 90lbs isn’t always a good thing. There’s no shot you could run a sheet of 3/4” across that saw safely because it’s so light and mobile.
You can screwmount the DeWalt saw in place... Another positive thing with the dewalt is the dust collection, there is hardly any dust comming out. The bad part is the short table infront of the blade on the DeWalt, that is superior on the Delta.
Looks like a nice machine for the money, I'm surprised it got 19% 2 and 1 reviews (out of 5). It's no longer available but it's somewhat higher priced replacement doesn't do much better in the reviews department.
It is weird that anyone would complain. It’s got a lot for what it cost and honestly at this size and price point you should be aware of what you’re getting yourself into.
Too bad Delta doesn't sell it anymore. I sold my old "perfect" running Delta 2 years ago as we downsized our home and moved to TN. Yep, I had to sell ALL my large woodworking tools, so now starting from scratch, with a very limited income. (retired)
The dust collection looks non existent... That makes both the saw and the added router dangerous.... I selected the DeWalt 7492 because of that.... Otherwise the saw needs to be outdoor (as a contractor saw usually is). Dust kills you faster than loosing some fingers... You just dont know it yet....
I made a horrible mistake buying my first (and current) table saw. I bought the Ryobi job site saw and slap myself daily for doing so. Doesn't go to 90°. Doesn't go to 45°. Can't make any cool sleds because of the proprietary tabbed slots. The throat plate sucks...badly, and can't be replaced because of the aforementioned proprietary tabbed system. The pros? It has a strong motor and will cut whatever I shove in its mouth.
Yes, also got a ryobi... pure crap, if you are doing rough cuts it works but anything with precision... NO! Dust collection suck dangerours... you name it. I replaced it with a DeWalt 7492... what a difference.. Twise the price but ten times better and useful.
Don’t waste your money. Save up to get a unisaw. I had this saw and the first time I ran ash that was over 1” thick for a big job, the motor burned out. It’s just a contractors saw that cost 1000$. Save up and buy the real deal.
Your cast iron table top can definitely age and deteriorate as you use and misuse it. All it takes is one soda can left sitting on its surface for a small period of time and you’re in trouble.

Just got one… there are a few differences
@@davesxd45what are the differences. Looking at the Rigid or even the skil job site with the folding legs. Thanks for your help.
I can’t wait for next wks video!!! Seriously love the idea of the router table in the table saw.. 🤯
It’s a good one!
Have this exact saw and have been kicking around the router table install for at least a year.. cant wait for next weeks veeedya!

You got your money out of that old saw!
Great video. Beautiful Ending!!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Love my 36-725! The fence has slop when released but once you lock it down it’s rock solid and square (once you calibrate it).
I used to have a Delta 715-36 hybrid table saw but I have never seen this saw in person so this may not apply.

To join the chorus, I've had one of these in my garage shop for about 5 years now and it's everything I have ever needed.

Not many people use those things…

Just bought this saw on sale. Looks like it is a huge upgrade from the 15 year old craftsman I've been using
How much is it on sale and from where?
@@blamuk it was $350 at lowes
I have the T2 and love it. It’s easy to use and easy to move.
Absolutely! Great machine for sure.

That is a great way to put it “It works above its price point.” I’m using a spider 10 inch blade right now and it’s great.
I bought the CMT Orange 40t combination blade.
Great review. Nice and concise.
Appreciate it Bill!
cool video.Im thinking of getting a Ridgid cast iron top ,( cant get Delta out here in Hawaii unfortunately) but I believe they are very similar. Loved your daughter laughing. nice touch!.
I think they’re virtually identical so Ridgid should work out great, thanks!

I believe the DeWalt DWE7491RS can use a dado stack.
Looking forward to the series
Appreciate it David!
Was not expecting the giggling outro!
Awesome surprise
Gotta keep it light and make sure she’s involved.
Hi - great vid…we’ll-produced, entertaining, and to the point. I have a Q: can I not use the legs and mount this into a rolling workbench I am making?
That is definitely possible, and a pretty creative idea.
That is an unusual and very good looking farm house table
just found you diggin' it so far
That's great to hear!
How does it compare to the 2022/23 model? I just got one and I love it!
The newer model is definitely better but this guy has NEVER given me an issue. 👍🏻
Thanks for the review of this saw. Is this saw the same as Delta's 36-725 T2 Table Saw?
The T2 is the updated version and the only one they produce now if I remember correctly.
What do you think one might gain from a real cabinet saw like the delta uni saw? Compared to this.
Power and stability. Cabinet saws bases are super stable and don’t allow and wiggle at all. These saws are made to be mobile so with that comes a little movement even when it’s off it’s wheels.
Nice, but I think I'll go with something older, like a Rockwell Model 9 Contractor saw.
Do you feel the 5100t2 would be superior due to the CI wings and 1 piece rail?
Maybe, but it blows it’s spot in the “best for the price” category being $1000 more expensive than this guy.
@@TheReformationWoodshop yeah that makes sense, I can find it for around $1200 not sure there is a better saw in that price range
The DeWalt DWE7491RS would definitely give this a run for the money. 32.5 inch rip capacity, and it's only 90 pounds.
That’s a great saw I’ve used it plenty but 90lbs isn’t always a good thing. There’s no shot you could run a sheet of 3/4” across that saw safely because it’s so light and mobile.

Best table saw, mine is 7 yrs old. I have changed the left rail on the fence to be more square, simple $60 rail
Couldn’t agree more, I love mine!

Think the Delta & the Rigid are the same saws just different colors, showing different manufacturers.
"fine farmhouse" furniture. This made chuckle
promoting the second most dangerous tool in the workshop!
I guess that makes me the first.
Ha! "Wood knot do it." Nice!

got mine, the newer T2, last year on sale at Lowes for $350
Were you running it on a 20 amp circuit?
Save you money. This saw was designed to fall apart.

Honest question here. I wouldn't expect the table to rust.. Is this normal?
