Wow. Now this was really great footage right here. Simple, but effective. Showing the system, showing it actually working on a larger scale, and then coming up to show the beauty of the ocean and why this is being done. All without saying a single word or single bit of text. We need more stuff like this. Well done Ocean Cleanup.
Beside this we need something els and this is that people stop troeng trash where ever tey like with out even thinking that this is not ok! In the way some people have in mine. Who care tey gonna clean after me. When tey see videos like this.
@@AquarianNomadic That's more then big enough to clean a lake, but that's besides the point. The fact that they're doing something is more then enough. According to them, they've already removed more then 200k KG of plastic this year. You're also ignoring the work they're doing elsewhere as well, namely the capture of plastic at the source. And every cent is well spent imo.
@@claymonsterpottery Probably most of it. Most metal related, dense plastics, things weighed down by water, a lot of fabric will eventually sink... You're seeing a lot of stuff that floats, simply because you only see the stuff that floats.
unfortunately it is equivalent to giving antidepressants for depression after decades of feeding polluted food and destroying people's biomes, with no intention of not feeding polluted food.... so you know the rest..... the boat must keep floating to keep up with the animal behavior.
What you are doing is wonderful for our oceans. Thank you for making them not only clean for us but also all that live there. People should think before littering.
It's actually not really making any difference at all, it's basically equivalent to them taking out a teaspoon of plastic while at the same time 100 truckloads of it are being dumped into our rivers and oceans.
I would watch a god damn daily vlog of this stuff. Just you guys, collecting trash, sorting trash, talking about trash. We need to see this stuff, the progress and the hope it gives. ❤🔥
Could watch this for hours. Slightly bigger ships and you could host some Ecco tourism. Imagine taking a quiet cruise knowing that you’re supporting a cleanup effort? I’d be there.
Every time I see a video of y'all's work it lifts my mood and gives me so much hope for the future. Thank all of you so much for your work which nobody else wanted to do
impresionante, el final del video con el horizonte y la puesta de sol van perfectos con el mensaje de esperanza que transmite todo esto. VIVA THE OCEAN CLEANUP
Out of curiosity, how does the fleet operate during stormy weather? Aside, love the work you guys do, both on the high seas and also with your Interceptors for the world's rivers.
Because the cleanup systems are meant to stay in the patch for long periods of time, it is important that our systems can withstand the forces of the ocean. We will continually monitor the loads in the system and adapt the speed and span to lower the loads in the case of rough seas. We will also monitor weather forecasts and plan a trajectory to avoid storms, and by understanding the patch climate, we can plan to operate in less critical locations. In the case of a particularly severe storm, the system can be temporarily withdrawn from the operation.
This is light in the darkness ! You are hero s . Ocean cleaning is a necessary work. But people have to learn ; don’t use Earth and Oceans as a garbage place !
Hey! That's my bucket lid! I'd recognize it anywhere. Some jerk stole it out of my sabot at a dock in Dana Point, September 23, 1979. ...and then the thief just threw it in the ocean. He wasn't just a thief, but a polluter as well. Where do I write to get my bucket lid back? That was my favorite lid. I used it on my bait bucket, which died several years later. Seriously, fascinating video. Amazing how calm some of those spots in ocean can be. Thanks for sharing. More importantly, I think this is a worthy project.
I really enjoyed watching this. Even just footage of the cameras installed on the system seeing the plastic beeing collected in real time without commentary would be awesome. Like a 10 hour ambient video but from these cameras. Would probaply also create lots of reach on Yt :D
I never get tired of seeing this genius and "simple" invention. When the camera zooms in to the long retreval net and all that plastic from what appeared to be a relatively clean section of the ocean. Always satisfying and encouraging to watch. Thank you to Boyan Slat and all the Ocean Clean Up Team. 🙏 ❤
Simply amazing, it feels to good to see the trash being collected from our oceans, thank you so much, we need more wonderful reports like this in such a miserable media world
Please share more clips. More people need to learn about the fantastic work you guys are doing. Thank you to all the people involved in this work. It's the right thing to do and its pleasing to see other people dropping words of support towards what you guys are trying to achieve.
Each of the comment = so good to see someone else cleaning up my trash. Each one of us is responsible for this mess. Each plastic manufacturer, each consumer, every country, every government.
Loved this video because it features the ACTUAL SOUNDS on the site and NO BACKGROUND MUSIC (that's usually annoying and distracting). Thank you! And of course I love the work you are doing cleaning the ocean! Thank you! Was in Sicily, Italy a couple of years ago and it was so sad to see the amount of trash washed ashore daily, and the nearby river dry and covered in greenhouse plastic and other trash.

Ocean garbage cleaning videos will become like pimple popping or dog grooming videos.
Seriously they need to see this comment. I can watch this all day
Me too
I am always surprised at the size of the large items that are just floating around our seas.
Great work all who are involved in this amazing clean up.
I’m also fascinated by how much or our waste floats. What percent sinks to the bottom?

@@glen.simpson its better than not doing anything and letting it float around forever.
@@darkshadowsx5949 I agree, but without other changes it's futile.... industry has no intention of changing and humans are dirty
Cleaning up plastic rubbish to create more plastic rubbish...yeh great news!

What you are doing is wonderful for our oceans. Thank you for making them not only clean for us but also all that live there. People should think before littering.
Littering has nothing to do with it. In parts of China and India, plastic is disposed of just by throwing it in the ocean and waterways.
It's actually not really making any difference at all, it's basically equivalent to them taking out a teaspoon of plastic while at the same time 100 truckloads of it are being dumped into our rivers and oceans.
