This was one of the most informative podcast episodes that I have ever listened to. Its really unusual that any podcast is so information dense while being 4 hours long AND unscripted. I listened to the podcast in one go while driving and I already know that I will be listening to the whole thing again and that its going on my list of episodes to periodically re-listen to.

Huge fan or Bromley and Elitefts. Been following Elitefts for years and have gotten different products from them, always great quality. Found Bromley in the last couple years and am currently doing coaching with him. Great guy and things are going well so far. Was a great surprise to see him on the podcast today!

Im using a templete out of his book base strength and strength is going up like crazy . Love his stuff i suggest you buy his books there not expensive . Ive bout every josh bryant book and alex is way bettter at going into detail an teaching the principals . And he has several templetes as well as teaches you how to draw your own program up . Josh didnt do that he had a few templetes but didnt put in his books how to train year long just a few 8 week an 12 week peaking templetes an one offseason 8x8 prorgam

@Our Man Hemmingwaay he's coaching me. Helping me overcome tye issues I've had and especially in getting to Squat and pull decently after having a terrible disc herniation all while cutting. Very pleased so far. Can imagine the gains I would make once in a caloric surplus.

Wow, so many subtleties and nuance discussed here. I love this. Getting the chance to put myself next to you in the driver’s seat to watch the way you both make decisions on how to wrk the gears. Seeing the thought process with multiple toy examples. Whether it was planned or not, this is a great format. And I feel like it provided a lot of intuition, and I think I have a better understanding of why prescriptions are given and in what ways they are fluid. Great to see 2 of my favorite 3 RUclips binge-watch podcasters/content creators come together. The result may have very well been greater than the sum of the parts. If we could get Israetel to sit down at the same table with both of you (I haven’t seen him sit down with Bromley yet), that would be my Christmas!

Was only curious about this episode because I wanted to see dave asked him about his critical take on westside and even Swede Burns(as a person) and 5th Set he is super critical of other people. Curious if he keeps that same tone on the is episode. EliteFTS is the real deal and always appreciate Dave and all he does for the sport. Cool he is even having a convo with alex.

The thing that I find so discouraging about what Bromley said at 3:09 about the middleweight strongman just not being as interesting as the heavyweights is so discouraging.
It’s just sad how little the general public knows about strength sports. The middle weights, and even the lightweights are by far the best athletes, some of the guys on the podium are lifting 80-90% of what the heavyweights do at half their body weight.
The speed that some of them have on moving events and how they throw objects ect is amazing.

1:28:00 proud to say I was one of the people pushing back about Westside 😂 still maintain that Westside was never concerned with technical lifting as much as improving generalised strength in the powerlifting sphere. It translated well but it does heavily rely on some lifter intelligence which isn’t always easy to come by. Truly bad genetics can’t be overcome and those people aren’t at Westside to test.

A momentous, well deserved appearance and triumph for the beginner, intermediate and advanced lifter. Few have done more good than Bromley to simplify and clarify the fundamentals of programming for strength training; nor to debunk the rampant horsesh*t that is literally bursting out of the fitness industry. Perhaps, only superseded by the gentleman interviewing him.

I legit forgot about this cat, lol. I believe it was 2017 and I emailed AB and asked about sign ups at his gym. I told him my goal was to train strongman so I could one day break or set a new one arm circus dumbbell press record. His email reply was like a poorly scripted Ben Stiller character playing a gym owner. He told me there's no way no matter how hard I trained could I ever break an all time record. He went into great detail as a Ben Stiller type character would talk down to a stranger off the street. So he ended up talking me out of signing up for his gym. And I ended up in powerlifting, and then strict curl, then ultimately 10 time power curl record holder. 8 World Records 2 National Records. So I forgot about this Alex dude, but I'm glad he finally made it too. God is good 🙏
