Hit List: The Musical - Act 1 (old)

- I have been wanting someone to compile all of the hit list songs into one playlist or video with them in the order they are supposedly in if the show were real. So, I just did it myself. These are all the songs from the first act minus the reprises and Broadway, Here I come. I may try to do a better video later, but this is all i got for now.

OMG this is me replying to an old profile of mine I guess lol. Yes it's from Smash @Leif and @Eleanor I agree with you, and it's also super interesting that BOTH songs were written by Pasek and Paul (who wrote the whole damn Greatest Showman soundtrack!)

Ugh, WHY DID THIS SHOW GET CANCELLED!?!? So much better than Glee is now. Beautiful music...oh well...
because the people don't appreciate excellent singers, great and an original show... only they like imitation like glee.

I read the show was very expensive to produce and the viewership waned in the 2nd season so NBC just pulled the plug. Doesn't that often happen with some of the best shows?

Originally, it was written to be a one season show, leaving it up to the viewers imagination about the success of Bombshell.
The concept was to show what it's like to write, create & produce an entirely original musical for Broadway. And the end result would be an actual musical that would eventually make a run on the Broadway stage. YES! Bombshell was intended to be a REAL music. In fact, early 2015 there is a one night only charity event, and the entire Bombshell musical will be performed with it's original cast members. The hope of this event is to see audience response to the show. If it is received well & gets great reviews, there is talk of it coming to the Broadway stage in 2016.

I read that there will be a "One Night Only Charity event" production of Bombshell on Broadway in June of 2015. The venue and exact date haven't been set as of today(1-19-15). I'm sure it will be tough to get tickets,but I plan on trying.
Yes, Bombshell is coming to Broadway for a one night only charity event. But, it is also being reviewed & considered for a long term run possibly in 2016. The concept behind the first season of Smash was to show the struggles & precess of creating a new Broadway musical, with the end run being that there is an actually musical that would become a real Broadway production.
Originally, there was not going to be a season 2 and the creation of another musical. It was supposed to end with K.M. singing Don't Forget Me, and left to the viewer's imagination that it was a success & made it to Broadway. But, fan outcry brought about season 2 and it's disastrous ratings. NBC took a huge loss that season, and has suffered ever since.
On a side note, I never understood what Hit List is actually supposed to be about. There are only a couple of songs that I actually liked, and never saw the plot of the show, although I have watched the series several times. I don't get it.

After seeing it all put together in one place I am very shocked that they haven't chosen to put the fictional show of "Hit List" as a real show.
Well they're working on bombshell now, so who knows. Maybe in a year or two it will be real. I've heard rumors that there's a plan for it to become a full stage show soon.

They haven’t exactly done that yet but there was a full reading at 54 below with Jeremy Krysta and Andy
They said they couldn’t do Bombshell because Marilyn has too many songs, so she won’t be able to do the show every day/night

I so wish they would do feature length episodes of the whole musicals - imagine how many views you'd get! And I just want to see the whole of bombshelll and learn the full plot of hit list.... shame its only a fantasy... I'd rather that than they put it on broadway because unless it moved to the west end I'd never be able to see it.

The guy who's wrote rewrote this story wrote the music for the greatest showman. You can really hear it in rewrite the stars
Derek complains about Jimmy 'fooling around' in 'Don't let me know' but... Actually he gives... Depth (?) to the number for me... Hahaha.

I agree, it makes it feel like Jimmy sees her everywhere and then he goes to her concert and it make the scene... so sad.

Sad to say because Jeremy Jordan is amazing, but I didn't really care about/for Jimmy until this very moment 4:36-7:40. I was bawling for a character I really could care less about...that's how incredible/powerful that particular performance/scene was. *Bravo* Glad he got the chance to show that.
Really miss this show. I didn't care for the Hit List story line or the songs... the staging all looked like a music video.... but man, the production values on Bombshell, and those songs!! Glad that McPhee is working ("Scorpion"), but wish she was making it as a singer. Such an awesome voice.

I dont understand why they dont bring both hit list and bombshell to the real broadway. They'd be both very successful.

I don't know why a lot of people are complaining about the vague story of Hit List, but I get it. I mean, the intro gave me chills! IMHO, once done perfectly, it can be one of the most epic intro in Broadway musicals. I hope someone from our country pick up this musical. I'll do my best to audition and get the part of Jeremy Jordan's role in Hit List.

Apparently the show released an album of the music from Bombshell, hoping it would prove popular enough to warrant making Bombshell a real broadway musical (which it didn’t). They picked the wrong musical to promote though because, while I wouldn’t see Bombshell, I definitely would go see Hit List.

"Original" and "Reach For Me" are missing but other than that it's fantastic! If only it was a real show. I'd see it over and over again. But I doubt NBC will ever let that happen. They own Smash, which means they own Hit List as well.

season 2 is still available on hulu. the entire season. I was just watching it. season 1 is on ovation channel. it is almost over though. i don't know what they are going to do once they run through the whole season.

IMHO, when Ivy said that Hit List made it to the Broadway is because Kyle died, it's a strong ground for revoking her Tony nomination. Karen should've won the Tony. It's so unfair.
