  • The REVI BIKES Cheetah is a motorcycle inspired fat tire electric bike with powerful 750 watt geared hub motor from Bafang, unique battery integration designed to look like a gas tank, two battery size options. High-volume tires provide comfort and stability, padded grips, oversized sprung saddle, and swept back handlebar deliver comfort and an upright body position, this bike can handle taller riders. With a maximum allowable weight of 330lbs (150kb) this is a great electric bike for big people, integrated headlight has high and low beam, beautiful paint matched steel chain cover, three color options. Only available in one frame size, basic 7-speed drivetrain with somewhat limited 13 to 38 tooth cassette means there aren't as many options for climbing or pedaling at high speed, I experienced some delay with the 12-magnet cadence sensor but the twist throttle is smooth and both brake levers have motor inhibitors. This thing is a sturdy electric bike that would work well for big people, whether you're tall or just heavy. It really looks a lot like Sam's Harley motorcycle when we compared the two in his parking lot.

    I like that frame. I always liked board trackers, and I'm riding Greaser for a season now. Large, almost motorcycle frame bikes are my thing. And to my amazement, my 30kg (custom 26,1Ah batter, standard is coming lighter by 2kg) basically beach bike is so pleasant and good for riding thru the woods and even on some trails for mountain bikes. I even had 2 crashes that may be far worse if I was on lighter bike. And Vmax on my bike is the same as here circa 28 mph. I love Hi/Low on lamp I want to implement this in my own bike.
    I like when you are covering bikes like this one.

    I've watched a lot of your videos and this was one of my favorites. Had a Harley Road King for 17 years before I got a BMW GS (on-off road motorcycle), and seeing Sam on his Road King was very cool. These bikes really speak to the motorcycle rider indeed. These bikes just beg to be customized, Civibike should be looking at aftermarket products like Harley does. Definitely among the coolest bikes you've reviewed. Keep up the good work Court!

    I fell in love at first sight with this bike. My ebike was just stolen. I’m replacing it with this one..
    I want to point out the wheel size setting was correct at 28in, before it was changed to 26in. I had the same wheels and they measured over 28, but under 29 inches tall. The size settings in a cycle analyst would be 2325mm. In order for the speedo to be accurate, it has to be 28in. You can check with a gps speedometer app on your phone..

      @@cresshead they can leave it off or the eu distributor can remove it. They can either program the controller to 25kph or update the firmware to not be adjustable above that. They would also need an integrated rear light and auto retracting kickstand among other features to comply fully with euro zone and uk regs. That headlight might need redesign as well. Beam shape is defined tmk in the euro zone and it cant just be a spot.

      It could use some mudguards/fenders though. Much of the world is not like the southwestern US in the summertime and having mud spatter all over you kinda kills the cool look.
      Designing mudguards that fit the aesthetic isn't too hard and there are ways to make them detachable.

    Bought this ebike in March of 2020. From day one they sent it with a broken head, but the warranty replaced it so thank you for that. But the LCD screen settings menu never worked even after putting the 9999 code. It’s now May 28,2020 and I’ve only ridden it about 6 times due to thorns and flat tires so it’s been mostly sitting in my garage and even after replacing the tubes about 3 times i still can’t fix the flat tires to save my life. And now I’m getting a “4 hall error” message. I just can’t seem to get it out of my garage for a ride. Thanks civibikes. Thanks EBR for letting me post my EBR.

      I currently live in the Netherlands and there are a lot of dedicated bike paths with fantastic surfaces here. I think the legal limit is 250w, but I am looking for a sturdy fatbike that I can put the most powerful Bafang motor on it as possible. I am starting to think a hub motor with combined gearing with a Bafang mid motor will be perfect. Back in Australia I rode a sports bike, but my mind is set on an electric bicycle as my next toy/commuter.

    • @circleofsorrow4583
      @circleofsorrow4583 5 лет назад

      Yes, there are long sections of bikeway completely removed from the roadway, so it is safe for me to do 50mph if I really wanted to. There is usually nobody on these paths when I use them, but for the odd person sharing the bike path with me, I would also ensure I have powerful and progressive brakes too so I can slow down well before I am anywhere near them. I was going to spec a very expensive german gearbox which I have been told will last me the rest of my life, but I have seen that hub motor/gearbox combos do exist, so I am looking into that.

If you shift down to low gears you would pedal your butt off and go nowhere. So, I didn't bother. Now that I'm an old fart. I got a taste of pedal assist, and I like it. I do like my pedaling to be more than keeping the motor running. I need to get out practicing. I have an almost brand new mountain bike, and the weather is getting better here.

    I really love this bike and have considered buying. The only thing that stops me is no suspension. I live in PA. and our roads are nowhere near good, I don't ride offroad, I only ride street and it would be a pretty stiff and uncomfortable ride even with a good springer seat. Beautiful cycle, just unfortunate that it has no suspension. These companies have to realize that we all don't live on the beach in California!!! Love it though.

      Thanks Elaine. Thanks for your advice. We see it. And the suspension fork is under development already. Since we can't find the suitable fork in public market, we have to do a lot of part by ourselves, I mean like tooling and moulding. It takes some time and we will have it.

    I really like this bike! Price point is a little high. ($1700) Should have optional extra battery mount on the lower frame bar for longer distances. Taller people need a larger frame size , bars are to wide for my like.

    I have had one of these, painted flat black, for a couple of months. I got it direct from China for $875. I had to do the customs process myself, but I wasn't charged any tariff. In fact, I didn't get charged anything at the customs office. I customized mine by cutting the seat post tube down as far as I could and lowering the seat and I put on some Apehanger handlebars and my old leather saddlebags from my motorcycle went on the back rack that I added, Plus I took the back fender from an old fat tire stingray and painted that flat black also. I was going to buy about 20 0f these to rent out on Catalina Island but it became apparent right away that it would not make a good rental for a few reasons. One of them being that you can't switch out the battery. That right there makes it unusable to be a rental bike. Another reason is the balance. With the battery and controller placed high and forward it makes for an awkward balance. When you are up and running it isn't noticeable, but it makes for wobbly starts. But other than those things it's a cool bike and an attention getter for sure. I ride it with my three Golden Retrievers, one of which sits in a wooden trailer I made for her and the other two younger dogs run along the side of me, so that may be responsible for some of the attention. Bottom line is it's a cool bike and I am glad I got it.

    I have a motorcycle and I just bought a Rad City. This bike would interest me a lot... however one big problem. I don't like that the battery is inside the tank looking part. Having to unscrew a couple screws to get it out and back on is a major turn off. I live in Alberta and it gets cold in late fall and (like today) I bring my battery inside to keep it warm. Otherwise, I like it.

      Certainly, with a small bit of engineering (sturdy, "hidden", underside key latch, tank side internally hinged, swings up, pull out battery) could be applied here.

    Lots of people look at vid with phone. How bout zooming in on the bicycle a lil longer so we can keep a still pic of vid on our phone. Or maybe you need two lens. Very slow & steady. Helmet cam too. Your getting big time, you will have another cameraman beside your self some day. Lapel mics, etc..

    love the design style - very harley davidson, great look around and info.
    I wonder if these can be bought over in the EU..they'd have to ditch the throttle though due to their laws.

    • @ElectricBikeReview
      @ElectricBikeReview  5 лет назад

      Right, it seems like you’re not alone in wanting this to be available in Europe... the company already commented once above, so perhaps they will see your comment and make a European version someday. I think you could probably work with a shop to have one sent over and modified to be closer to legal... but that could get a little expensive

    • @cresshead
      @cresshead 5 лет назад

      the controller could be re programmed to limit the speed..the throttle though...gotta be removed for EU regs.
      maybe a more specific EU motor/control might be the answer...a mid drive would be awesome!
