Suggestion: Make a steering with only two buttons of some kind. The steering automatically centers itself and instead of a steering wheel have a button that turns it full lock left and another button that turns it full lock right. Just like when playing a driving/racing game with a keyboard. I imagine some kind of hydraulic system would do the trick or maybe pneumatic.
Pneumatic would work faster. But electric would prob be the best bet considering reservoirs take up space and are heavy. Along with pumps or pto's. Servo motors would be most efficient for this type of custom job. Would allow for programming the self centering and for fine steering. Could even add a remote at that point as well.
I want to see it on dry pavement. I bet it's a lot more twitchier than you think. It was pushing the front tires because of the snow so there was no traction in the front.
Another excellent addition to the Lada Improvement series! (Faster, Louder, Better!) Maybe next time you can set up the brakes to lock up with the very slightest of brake pedal pressure. Another wonderful idea: install headlights and brake-lights with EXTREME illumination - so bright they burn the paint off a fire hydrant. Maybe the lamps from those old anti-aircraft search lights would be bright enough to instantly blind any oncoming motorist. Here's yet another terrific idea for you: Everyone needs a Lada with an automatic door, hood and trunk closing system - something electronic or hydraulic that will close the doors, hood and.or trunk with such force that the car nearly falls apart. Maybe these systems can also be designed to OPEN doors, hood and trunk with extremely abrupt violence. I can't remember - does the Lada have a glove box in the dashboard? If so, this high-speed opening/closing system could also be employed to enhance access to this crucial feature as well.
at this point, I want a digital Lada: controlled by just on/off switches, like in old driving games. So when you press the accelerator button, it goes to max throttle instantly, and it returns to idle as soon as you release the button. Same logic for brakes and steering. Let's drive like it's Gran Turismo 1!
I think on pavement with good grip, he would have figured it out pretty quickly, but on ice, it's twitchy but then slides. Probably hard to figure out what is going on 😂
you guys are great, what i thought you do that thing very well eg. headgasket , Cold start, flywheels, Clutchs, Spark, engine oil, so on. thank you 🙂 Hope for best.
F1s and most of racecars these type are equipped with a very sensitive steering (1.5 turn from lock to lock so twice faster than normal cars look at Monaco pilots only cross their arms to reach maximum steering while in a normal car you have to turn the wheel way more long time in the same curve) and pilots manage to use it but this one is a little bit too sensitive
I had an old 68 Cadillac with variable ratio steering, half a turn of the wheel made a sharp turn left or right. Now, on a Lada. That's Cool. Talk about a fast responsive car. Wow
That is actually pretty good idea. It could definitely help with steering response in my drift car. Try something like that with less aggresive ratio in your drift car. Nice job ;-)
Have you ever tried reverse steering? When you turn left, the car turns right. I've tried it in a boat, it's impossible to go away from normal thinking even if you know you should do the opposite.
I am always impressed by the driving skills, and that applies to almost the entire crew. You can see these people know how to drive on slippery surfaces. Like racing drivers and stuff like that. Is there an explanation for that?
У меня был старый Кадиллак 68 года с переменным передаточным отношением, пол-оборота руля делал резкий повернуть налево или направо. Теперь на Ладе. Это круто. Разговор о быстрой отзывчивой машине. ух ты
I wonder if when he was in reverse…. Was the thought “Hey look at me! I’m the worlds best backwards driver!!!” Coming to mind? 🤣 Every damn time I have to reverse, I always think about that scene in Cars where towmater says that lmao
the snow makes the crazy steering quite a bit more forgiving since you're shooting straight into understeer, well past the point the tires actually throw the car around
It was thought that the future of cars would be a tiny steering wheel. Smaller than your hand and it would be in the middle like the gear shift. Try that.
Can’t remember the car. But I believe GM made a steering system in the 60’s that had 2 tiny palm sized wheels that you steer with by twisting your wrist. It’s very unique!
Welcome to having a dirt-track car! Luckily, mine also has power steering and the same steer ratio yours has, its a blast to drive! Literally just a big, loud-ass go-kart!
Am surprised the instructor did not comment on the state of the dashboard. The speedometer and gauges are lopsided and look like they would fall at any second. :) Still, impressive how a car from the 1980s can still run, when GM and Ford cars from the early 2010s are breaking down already. Garage54 did rear wheel steering in another episode and four wheel steering with four steering wheels also.
Glad to see you still making fun videos. Most of us know that the real Russian people are just like the rest of us, want to live in peace, share a good meal, and have a really good laugh together. Peace soon...
Looks and sounds like fast steering ratio combined with a loose box/rack. Fast steering is great on snow for a skilled driver, but the complete opposite if there's noticeable free play.
Next... make it so when you turn left, the car goes right. When you turn right, the car goes left 🤣 also switch the gas and brake pedals with each other too
I think that’s a pretty great idea 💡 you don’t have to be getting your arms beat up by doing a lot of turning’s down the roads!👋😂👍I call that a successful test!
I wondering if the engine oil mix with atf in long term usage inside the engine?with the transparent oil sump and rocker cover..what will happen, how those moving parts running with both oil inside for 1:1 ratio of oil?your videos really interesting and lots of knowlegde..
Now flip it around. Make it 6 turns lock to lock. Bring the instructor back and ask him to drive it again. (Not knowing that it's now flipped. He will be thinking it's like a go-kart, but it will steer like steam tractor.
this is how video game steering feels
I set my wheel to 540 and it's spot on, fast but precise. If feels nothing like this. For F1 I drop it 360.
True story i got a mad mwx steering wheel at first i thought it was like this a real steering wheel .some bus in my country is like this
Must be using a cheap wheel.
You do know you can go into the game settings and set the sensitivity to the steering wheel as well as the strength of the feedback right
And then the faster you go the less the wheels turn SOO FD

Just like when playing a driving/racing game with a keyboard. I imagine some kind of hydraulic system would do the trick or maybe pneumatic.
Or to make it worse, add steering pedals that do the same thing so you can have hands-free driving.
Or even worse, make a car that is only controlled by WASD on a keyboard

Switch the pedal controls for steering and vice-versa, turn the diff upside down and try driving that 😄
For the snow slalom course it would have been funny to gear it the other way, so you’d have to make like 12 rotations lock to lock.
More like driving old Ford lol
@@therobb5738 or even like an old rolls Royce, like James may when he did the slalom

I love how the driving instructor makes (what I think is) a very funny joke at 6:30 and nobody cracks a smile.
I don't get the joke :(
Your channel is probably one of the most underappreciated channels on RUclips. Thanks for the good content!
"I worked out yesterday!" 🤣

This combined with massive steering angle would be beautiful
This channel should be over 1mil by now!!
I think on pavement with good grip, he would have figured it out pretty quickly, but on ice, it's twitchy but then slides. Probably hard to figure out what is going on 😂
So it's like an oversized go kart that you can't see your wheels on. That looks like a blast!
Yet another crazy idea! I love that you guys always have new ideas I could never think of.

When you started the slalom in reverse, you guys had me laughing so hard. Lol

Cadillac with responsive steering🤣
@@themechanik8767 You never drove a CTS-V and it shows...
"why aren't we losing control and spinning off the track?"
"dunno, something must be wrong with the steering."
Wait what?
I remember my 3rd gen trans am was close to 2 turns. I really enjoyed that car.
Thats cool i wish all stwrring was like that. Stewring with feed back but a little input does alot would rock. 1 turn would be perfect.
That is actually pretty good idea. It could definitely help with steering response in my drift car. Try something like that with less aggresive ratio in your drift car. Nice job ;-)
they make stuff like this already. It's called a Steering Quickener
@@kasuraga thanks, didnt know about this. Its a lot of money tho :-)
You guys are incredibly resourceful in being able to turn a fun idea into an actual result. Bravo my friends!
Have you ever tried reverse steering?
When you turn left, the car turns right.
I've tried it in a boat, it's impossible to go away from normal thinking even if you know you should do the opposite.
Great idea, and great video guys!, thanks for sharing.
"Cut your brake lines! It doesn't take much work and you'll experience a full range of emotions!"
Very good, now you need to do one that needs six turns lock to lock.
Buy a Volga if you're looking for this kind of wonderful driving experience.
that's what you need, more over steer ratio, makes hooking in tights turns a breeze, you can practically drive that Lada with two fingers
I love over-steer
Have they made a car that steers like a skidsteer?
I really need somewhere to keep my documents.
G54 coming in clutch.
I am always impressed by the driving skills, and that applies to almost the entire crew.
You can see these people know how to drive on slippery surfaces.
Like racing drivers and stuff like that.

That looks fun you guys are so awesome love ya all keep up the good work
1 way to make a quick rack 😂👌👍
On a rally stage this would be nuts 😮

Notification Squad!🔥🔥🔥
Been waiting lol 😂
Reminds me of back in the '90s when, I think it was Saab, experimented with joystick steering.
As you've mentioned having to turn the wheels with your legs... How about you swap steering with legs and gas, brake and clutch with hands?
I suggest linear motors on the suspension so that you can change the alignment without using tools.
You should test the shortest gear changes like a super short shift
Could make a good drift car
Made it drive like a powerwheels 😂😂
The instructor guy is quite skilled.
You should definitely do it in reverse now make it take like 20 turns from lock to lock
I thinnk that i'm not the only one who wants to see a 4x4 transmison system on a car like how the old locomotives had.
Go-cart searing! wicked!!
This is how Forza RUclipsrs have their wheel setup
It was thought that the future of cars would be a tiny steering wheel. Smaller than your hand and it would be in the middle like the gear shift. Try that.

Every other experimental channel on youtube: don't try this at home!
Vlad: try for yourself, it was pretty fun
Welcome to having a dirt-track car! Luckily, mine also has power steering and the same steer ratio yours has, its a blast to drive! Literally just a big, loud-ass go-kart!
that and the button clutch!
This type of steering would be great for dirt track racing.
Within 52 seconds this man articulated what it will take to make Elon's tesla yoke usable lol
Good Job guys keep it up.
Maybe during the summer months take this oversteering Lada Drifting or maybe drive it on an ice Lake
DIY racecar steering. 107% success! Now make a racecar with it!
You guys did 4:1, I think 2:1 would be a sweet spot. I love it though!
Never in my 30 years of the mechanic have I seen a starter with planetary gear isn't it must be a lada thing
The idea of the instructor sounds nice, rear wheel steering. It would be a huge amount of change, but interesting.
Am surprised the instructor did not comment on the state of the dashboard. top fuel is this way, quarter steering same for F1.. you get used to it and its super good for racing, specially cornering
This would be great on dry pavement!
You could do with a steering damper to give it stability at high speed on the straight, just like on performance motor bikes
I would love to see a second power steering mechanism on this build and see people’s reactions
Make a inverted steering wheel
Glad to see you still making fun videos. Most of us know that the real Russian people are just like the rest of us, want to live in peace, share a good meal, and have a really good laugh together. Peace soon...

I actually see a use in this id try it out. Dont like to turn the wheel so much, especially parking and city driving.
Next... make it so when you turn left, the car goes right. When you turn right, the car goes left 🤣 also switch the gas and brake pedals with each other too
Imagine this but with all tires turning
Now do this with motorcycle handlebars, but in the car. And maybe put the Clutch on the Bars like on a real motorcycle
Make it the other way around. Something like 10 turns lock to lock.
Bro did a better donut in the lada than his Supra
I think that’s a pretty great idea 💡 you don’t have to be getting your arms beat up by doing a lot of turning’s down the roads!👋😂👍I call that a successful test!
do you invert the stearing before? i think it could be an even more unusual experience, like the one shown in the video ;)
I love vaz 2101x, such a bauhaus design from italy
I wondering if the engine oil mix with atf in long term usage inside the engine?with the transparent oil sump and rocker cover..what will happen, how those moving parts running with both oil inside for 1:1 ratio of oil?your videos really interesting and lots of knowlegde..
Imagine a crazy steering angle kit on thus thing especially with the steering ratio
You guys are the best!
That and some sensitive brakes.
180 degree steering like on forza lol
Using a 1:2 ratio and a slightly smaller wheel would be perfect.
That's no driving instructor!!! He's a hitman for Vlad!!! He's the Russian "Fixer"!!! He fixes issues with snitches and traitors...... LMAO!!!
Now flip it around. Make it 6 turns lock to lock. Bring the instructor back and ask him to drive it again. (Not knowing that it's now flipped. He will be thinking it's like a go-kart, but it will steer like steam tractor.
What a dream drift car..
Try this……. modify your pressure relief valve inside your power steering pump. It will help when you eventually hit the pavement
Imagine if you were driving a car with this steering at 160 km/h 💀
the braim adapt very fast ,
You guys should make reverse steering. If the steering wheel turned the opposite way that would be so funny
How about inverting the direction of steering? That will be one to get used to... 🙂
I got that quick rack reduction on my understeer
I'd love to chuck a LS2 in that little thing with a 6 speed n LSD, that little thing would drift like a champion.
The chipmunk backing music has to go, guys. lmao
I would like to see how a car drives if you INCREASE the number of turns from lock to lock. Maybe like 5 or 6 turns to make the full cycle.
Can you make 6 gear lada ?
Immagine drifting with this
now replicate gran turismo license tests with this steering
That’s like the steering you get in the Tesla Cybertruck
