Jan Baalsrud was a Norwegian resistance fighter during World War II. He is best known for his incredible escape from German-occupied Norway after a failed British mission known as the "Operation Martin" in 1943. This mission was meant to support the Norwegian resistance and gather intelligence on German activities in Northern Norway.
After the mission went awry, Baalsrud and his team faced brutal conditions and were hunted by the Germans. Baalsrud managed to evade capture for several months despite suffering from frostbite, snow blindness, and starvation.
Baalsrud's harrowing journey took him through treacherous terrain, including snowy mountains and icy fjords. He was helped along the way by brave Norwegian civilians who provided him with shelter, clothing, and medical aid.

Takk for i dag..
