I did essentially the same thing with my Hiby R6 III. I got rid of my Fiio M11 Plus because it was so bland. When I got the Hiby I was disappointed with the same blandness until the MSEB settings. So much fun to play with! Changed my entire experience. It's just daunting with so many headphone and song combinations. I usually just keep a bit of warmth on and I'm extremely happy.
What would be of your choice if you were to choose between Shanling M8 and Hiby R6 Pro 2? (Dual AK4499EQ vs Dual AK4499EX). I am currently using Shanling M8 and I have a friend who uses R6 Pro2 and I honestly thought Hiby R6 Pro sounds quite boring. And now, I am curious if MSEB setting could make the R6 Pro sound richer and probably better than Shanling m8. I like the sound from M8 but the software issues are quite annoying such as 1. cutting the start of the song when using the Shanling player app 2. There are times that Tidal (Streaming) just stops which never happened in A&K, Sony, Hiby DAPs I've used.
~~ZEOS~~ The buttons on the left side with the rocker being play/pause and next track is GENIUS..!!!! Becuz--- 1) Previous Track is an action I (and many others) SO RARELY ever use, like NEVER.. What circumstance do you find yourself wanting to hear the same song twice in succession?... So 2) Having the rocker be the button being used exclusively for the two most common actions has the added benefit of easily identifying it with your thumb or finger when not looking at it, and not having to try and feel for 3 equally spaced buttons of the same size to see if your hitting the top middle or bottom button!!!
Not to be a buzz-kill, but as a proud owner of the HiBy R3 Pro Saber, I would bet the farm that 95% of the good, music-lovin' people out there, could not tell the difference between the HiBy R6 Pro II and the much less expensive HiBy R3 Pro Saber in a blind A - B listening test... As a side-note, the HiBy R6 Pro II's size seemingly makes it a bit more cumbersome in contrast to the HiBy R3 Pro Saber... Does this $750 vs. $220 price difference result in a 300% increase in performance? I doubt it... Great review...!!! HiBy DAP's are the cat's meow, whichever one you might choose - but when it comes to portability/convenience/performance, I'll take a palm-sized unit over cell phone-sized brick, any day of the week...!!!
I straight gave up on looking at possible daps to purchase about half a year ago. I just get so overwhelmed with options that I feel like buyer's remorse will always ruminate in the back of my mind regardless of my choice. At least with headphones its not COMPLETELY psychotic to own multiple pairs, but with daps in particular, I don't understand the price to performance in relevence to one another.
I've had the Hiby R6 pro2 for almost a month and I am still overwhelmed trying to figure it out. For simplicity purposes I'd recommend something like the LG V60 or any Sony dap.
@@c.carrillo7813 I just delved into looking through this market, unfortunately the V60 will never see native Android 14, so it'll eternally be limited to tidal/qobuz as far as streaming goes. And unfortunately dap manufacturers (market pull) are nowhere near big enough to have Android 14 running on affordable daps for at least a few years. Ideally, Apple would just bring the iTouch and actually focus on making the perfect, innovative, modern dap, but they'll never do that until their hand/wallet is forced lol. Sony is somewhat a candidate to replace LG, but they're not quite there yet. The magic combination of Android 14 on a smart device engineered with audio fidelity in mind remains elusive...
I think that you want Class A for the harder to drive transducers, not Class AB. Class AB is enough for easier to drive. Anyway, that’s what I think, though I might be wrong.
Very sorry for your loss. Memories can be bittersweet, but are there any songs that would remind you of good times with her? Any music she liked that'll help you remember and cherish the happy moments? It may have been too soon, but you show gratitude and appreciation by living and loving your life until your own time comes
Music helped me grieve my mom's passing in September of 2020, specifically Nine Inch Nails. Music can definitely help 🫂🫂🫂🫂. Don't throw away your stuff.
Thank God for this video, I was about to buy one but that rocker switch mismatch BS would have IRKED my OCD to no end at all. If they make a successor to this and fix it, Ill buy it.
Same as the comment above its not that bad, as others have commented with the case easy to remove the tabs. The MASSIVE plus is the performance for the price.
Between this and the R6 Gen 3 would you say it’s worth the extra money or is the battery life worse and sound quality not much better than the gen 3? My two priorities are battery life and sound. If the battery life is worse on the pro 2 and sound quality is basically comparable I’ll probably get the r6 gen 3. Thanks!
FYI, the Android version is Android 12. Also Hiby has an RS6 and an RS8 that are both above the R6 Pro II (and they both contain the amazing Hiby R2R DAC). Question: do you feel like this DAP is worth $750?
The R6proII DAC is amazing in its own right, in fact, the AK dual chips draw way more power doing its thing than the Darwin R2R DACs on either the RS6 or the RS8 (which btw are actually not the same)
R6 Gen III has the infinitely useful audio knob/dial. R6 PRO Gen II does not have for whatever reason. But R6 PRO Gen II has the high-end digital + analog DAC solution
Zeos, put a portable tube amp on this like the Orioles BA300 and you will thank me later...its bliss. Also put it on class A too when you do. Dont EQ or MSEB nuthin'.
I know that what I'm going to ask is gonna be a question that everyone always asks you but what would you recommend/ suggest for speakers under 200$ for music??
@@CaptainBroadSword There is not much relevant items in the Edifier line-up for $200 or less then the R1700 or R1850 shelf speakers. Or you can save some money and buy a R1280 which are also very nicely reviewed (for their price). And you can buy yourself some nice DAC for $100 ;)
I bought the R6 Pro years ago. Used it with my UM Mest. So far, so good. Then lately I discovered the R3 Pro, I never used, sounds way better, although way cheaper, than the R6 Pro. Interesting. Then two weeks ago I bought an Macbook Air and subscribed to Apple Music and this combo with my Mest sounds waaay better than both of my Hibys. So much better that I will never touch my Hiby again. Yes, I think so.
