My family and I have the gold pass, 1st time. It's a great place to go and have a bit of fun. I'm gonna head there tomorrow by myself, try to get there at open time and do your recommended plan of attack. I have yet to be able to ride everything.

I'm not a big roller coaster nerd, I've only been to 3 parks(including King's Island many, many times) and I don't know about all the in's and out's and technicalities of coasters. So maybe I have a bad opinion, but that opinion is that a rough metal coaster is terrible, but a rough wooden coaster is fun.
I agree with what you said about Banshee, it kinda sucks because of how rough the ride is and the restraints honestly kinda hurt, I'll still ride it but I don't particularly enjoy it. When it comes to the Beast however, it's also super shaky... rough... and frankly the seats are outright uncomfortable... but somehow it's just fun. Idk if that's a psychological thing from it being a wooden coaster, maybe my brain expects wooden coasters to be rough. Whatever it is, I love the beast. It reminds me of going for a ride in an old muscle car, in that it's not actually crazy fast or does anything impressive by modern standards, but the experience is timeless nonetheless.
Ironically though if you don't like rough wood coasters, you would've REALLY hated Son of Beast, which used to stand where Banshee stands now. I only rode it twice, a genuinely painful and terrifying experience lol.

Good video. You make some good points on some of the coasters. I disagree with your takes on Mystic Timbers & The Beast. You also forgot to mention Backlot Stunt Coaster. Folks need to hit that pretty early because of low capacity.
I need to get a night ride on Mystic Timbers, because all the rides I have are day rides. MT is not even in my Top 4 @ KI. Maybe it’s the restraints ratcheting down?
The Beast is an Awesome woodie! It is running so smooth since the retrack in 2023. Have you rode it since then? Nothing compares to a night ride either.
The Racer got a complete retrack before opening this year. I hear it’s butter smooth. I’ll find out on Friday.

Yes I think you should try holding up your restraint on Mystic Timbers so you can get some more airtime without being restricted. Also, Racer got some of that vertical pre-cut track from Gravity Group and I also agree that it was running fantastic. Finally, I still thought Beast was kind of rough even after 2023; just in my opinion, of course.

Great video. We visited in May 2024 and found Flight of Fear to have the slowest moving line so hit that one first before Orion, which gets through the line much quicker. Sadly Beast wasn't operating but we got the rides in pretty much the order you suggested and had a fantastic trip! Diamondback was probably my favourite by a whisker too over Mystic Timbers and Orion! 👍

Kings Island doesn’t have a standout coaster?! Have you heard of the Beast? The longest wooden coaster in the world. There was a 3D arcade game that simulated the Beast. They had them in Europe. Go into a pub and ride the Beast while drinking a pint. It’s a legend.

The Beast is not at all a standout coaster to me. I love its history and length, but its layout is painfully outdated.

@@thecoasterbros that’s your opinion. I completely disagree. I’m guessing you’re young and not quite seasoned enough. I’ve been riding coasters for over 45 years. The Beast is a standout coaster. You, on the other hand…
