Simon, you are the guy everyone tries to be like. You are a true gentleman, There's nothing you can't do, build, make or cook & I love watching your video's so much. Don't ever give up what you do. All the best
There is nothing better than camping with a dog;. Old dogs are one of the most precious things on earth and deserve to be cherished and loved. I lost my 90 pound lap dog in August to cancer. It was a huge shock because we didn't know he had it until it metastasized. He had just turned ten in July and he also was having trouble with arthritis and mobility. God bless Maggie.
That tent looks so cozy…I’m watching this long after it was posted and sadly also know that this was one of the last with Maggie…precious memories I’m sure…you were both lucky to have shared time in your lives with each other… and that you have these videos to remember and treasure those special times. Be well & safe.
I really do admire you for honouring yourself and do these nights away solo. Sitting back and getting to be ‘one’ with your surroundings is the BEST MEDICINE! Nature’s reset button.
Very much enjoyed this. I did a lot of camping, hiking and backpacking when I was younger. I can smell your cooking, and the scents of the damp woods. Best wishes to you and Maggie! - Cody, Wyoming
Simon, you are a true hero to Maggie. You treat her well and you can tell that she enjoys being with you. Here is to many more adventures for the two of you together!
Well done for not making us not have to watch wood prepping. Everyone always fast forwards that as EVERY channel thinks chopping and sawing is fun to watch. 👍 we love Maggy she is amazing xxx
Much respect for you as a caring and loving dog owner. You are a great outdoor ambassador too. Magie is happy and enjoys your company as you do hers! Time is precious, so keep making those memorable moments a reality. Enjoy, and god bless you both, thanks for taking us along!
Thanks for another great video. Your love for Maggie is an inspiration for all of those who love animals. My best friends are dogs, their love and loyalty is far beyond any that I've ever found with people. I believe that it was the American writer Samuel Clemmons aka Mark Twain who said that, " if you feed a dog and treat it with kindness, it will be your friend and will not bite you, sadly the same can't always be said of people ". Stay well & safe mate .. Cheers.
A superb combination. Camping in woods, Maggie (such a sweetie), good food and your good self. Felt very relaxed watching this. Thank you for sharing a special time with Maggie, with us 🥰👍
So brilliant to see you out again Maggie, thank you for brining Simon too! I can see why you do, he does look after you very well. 🤭. Everything about this camp looked just about perfect. Thank you for producing it and sharing it with us. All the best to you both. Paul.
Good to see those bellows came in handy Simon. I use mine all the time, so simple and easy to get a fire proper stoked. Shame about the splits in the tent, but it would be a simple patch and repair hopefully 🤞🏻
Hi , im a regular night carp fishing man and love to bivvy up and chill just like you do in your videos . I love watching them and it gives me the itch to get out for the weekend . I just love all your equipment like the cooking bits and the simplicity of it all . keep the videos going Simon and they are just a joy to watch and you are a top bloke .
Raising a glass to Maggie now. I know how painful it is to lose your best buddy like that! I lost mine about 5 months ago and life isn't the same. I'll say an extra prayer tonight for her and you. Also, thanks for the chicken and chips recipe. I made that for dinner tonight and my wife loved it. It was outstanding at home in a dutch oven in the range indoors, so I can only imagine how great it would be over a fire, camping. Again, my heart goes out to you for your loss of Maggie. I've made your fries many times now and decided after some debate to call it "English Fries" in honor of our mother country. I was thinking of Simon Fries, but it just didn't seem right. My wife loves this recipe!
We got a new pup about 2 months ago. My boyfriend suggested Maggie, and I immediately though of you and yours. As I loved her from the moment I met her, I said yes, That is a Maggie.
Lovely that you can still take Maggie with you, hope it can continue for a long time. Also good that you took the time to show/give a hygiene tip about handling raw poultry.
As usual, an absolutely wonderful video! Simon, it speaks so well of your character that you take such good care of Maggie. Good show my English cousin across the pond 🍺
Hi Simon. I absolutely love seeing you and your sweet dog Maggie on a camping trip. You can always tell what a person is like by the way they treat their animals and how much that animal loves them. I love watching videos and I always can’t wait to see what’s up next. Meg from upstate New York. It’s so awesome to see you’re
Your so lucky Simon to have a place you've been allowed to stretch out and chill in with Maggie. Must be a kind farmer to give you permission to camp . Wish we had that to take our RBM tent to a great place to just be away from it all and live. Another great vid Simon your a natural at this bushcrafting and so organised 👍🏞⛺ All the best bud 👍
My big Great Dane is now 11 1/2 and he’s finally slowed down quit a bit. Been taking him camping and cherish these last stages of his life. Your a good man
Thanks for sharing another great camp adventure with you and your "Buddy" Mags, Simon! So much respect, for just "doing it right, Man"! You've given me ideas for another great meal with my Lodge Camp Dutch Oven, and I'm chomping at the bit for warmer Spring weather to hit the Mid-West area of the States soon, so I can get out and adventure also.
Maggie sounds like my dog Poppy, albeit my dog's a Springer. She'll be 17 this year and, like Maggie, has slowed down and sleeps a lot. I used to walk for miles and miles with her up at my local forest but sadly she can just about manage a short, arthritic waddle to the end of the street and back these days. I'll miss her terribly when the time comes as I've had her since she was 9 weeks old. I'm dreading it but as you say, every extra day is a cherished day.
I had a wonderful Springer called Rollo who made it to seventeen....a magnificent dog...all I can say is...when the end comes write down as many positive memories as possible...all kind of thanks for the life share...he was my last dog...a replacement was just unimaginable...he taught me a good deal....
This is my first time watching one of your vids and you didn’t disappoint. Thank you so much for fixing the grandmom pancakes instead of the just add 💦 crap. I was goood until you did the pancakes, 🥓 and sausage, a couple of scrambled 🥚and 🧀 would’ve set it off. The chicken wrapped in bacon 🥓 with the home 🍟 was on point. I love cooking outside over open 🔥. I be trying to school people, y’all better get some knowledge because the way our for fathers survived, we will have to know how and what to do. That canvas tent was it. And you made that I think you said? Getting ready to check out some of your other stuff. Holla @ cha
One man and his dog …. So sweet …. I enjoy all of your journeys….. big admiration for, as I mentioned before , simplicity, practically…informative …. Great
The filmography, and the ambience of the whole scene conveys warmth, comfort and a sense of well being.. Common sense and practicality, companionship with your calm dog gives the viewer an insight into how relative minimalism can be so rewarding. Never thought I'd quote, " living the dream" , however, you really are. Thanks for posting this. Made my evening.
Thanks for sharing. Your adventure is a breath of fresh air. You have upped the camping meal to real pleasure rather than just fuel. Your baker’s tent is still functional and beautiful. Thanks for sharing Maggie. We love her too. God be with you. Texas
I sat outside cooking on my fire pit while watching your video sort of made me feel I was there great to see Maggie they are a great companion they ask for very little but give so much always a pleasure watching your videos
Thank you for this very nice video!!!! And it is nice to see the way you care for Maggie!! We love those dogs so much, it is sad when they get older...
Poor Maggie, I know the feeling. Aching everywhere, tired etc. Comes to us all unfortunately. But she's beautiful. She sure has had a wonderful life you've given her. You should be proud of yourself. Take care, great vid as usual!!😊😋❤
I can’t remember leaving a fire burning at night in the past forty or so years-all pine forests and dry, dry, dry. Gosh I love that Baker tent. Glad to see that Maggie is still getting around, she’s a real trooper. Thanks for another great video.
Always a pleasure sir.thank you very much in advance 👍.hope all is well!!!I haven’t watched yet but I enjoy the baker tent camps the most so I know it’s going to be quality viewing.
This channel is like a form of meditation for me. After work while I cook dinner, I have a few beers and light a few candles for my own mock campfire. It really helps me unwind.
Really shows the character of a person who treats their pets with so much respect. Genuine human being

I absolutely love how you treat your dog. Maggie is in good hands. That says a lot about you. Safe travels my friend.
Can Always Tell How Real a Person is By the way They Treat their Animals!
@@mikeks8181 you are right about that. If a person isn't good to their animals it makes me very leary of them.
I love how you spoil Maggie! She’s a good girl and thoroughly deserves it!
Your loyalty and devotion to that old girl is admirable, sir.
Good old Maggie, great to see her out and about again! She's a star!
Baker tent is back, and opening with the sound of a diesel… can’t get better than that (although of course it does, because Maggie)!
Andrew answered my question...it indeed is a diesel motor...Thanks
That is a heart breaker. I love that tent. Someday I'll have one. Loading ramp for Maggie, you are a class act Simon.

Love that coffee pot!! Is that local?
@@catherinem2692 I believe it is vintage and Simon bought it on line, from somewhere in Europe. He mentions it in the video which is worth a watch.
Dogs shouldn't have an expiry, breaks my heart. I'm sniffling and simultaneously dribbling because of the hunters chicken. Thanks Simon :)
Cheers Simon for amazing video enjoyed watching you and Maggie camping thanks Simon 😊 😀 👍

What a lovely dog ideal companion especially when camping 😊
