I have the same old school Hohner chord harmonica. I never planned on buying one, but I just happen to find it on Kijiji used for $250 CAD couldn't pass it up! Definitely glad I found it.
One of best 48-chord songs that I know of is "The World is Waiting for the Sunrise". I can't find any youtube videos with a harmonica trio to post. But George Miklas knows... he can play anything ! A harmonica trio group in Youngstown, Ohio (back in the 1980s), where George mainly played bass harmonica, and another friend Mike Seiser, played chord harmonica, with lead player Pixie Ensign, mainly playing diatonic, showcased this song a lot... even played at a SPAH convention !

You can start a new Harmoni(moon)cats. I was in the old Cambridge Harmonica Orchestra. We had chord harp players. Awesome sound. I just took a break to listen to enlightenment. You could do that one with Eric McFadden. You make education entertaining.

Picked up a cheap bass harmonica from East Top, it's a piece of crap , weighs a ton, but I love the sound. I'd really like to get one of those Yamaha bass chromatic, but just can't afford it
