A $3000 lesson that I learned the hard way - Put the Automatic Transmission in Neutral, set the park brake and choke the wheels. When you are jocking logs and such. The Park Paw in the transmission will break off and grind up the transmission.
This right here has just saved me a ton of money . I am just looking into cording word for sale to make a few extra bucks . Thank you Alan and I am sorry that you had to find this out the hard way . Extra man card points for sharing !
@YellowMetalDriver The winch is right where it needs to be for a few reasons. The height of the snatch block is what matters. The slabs in the background are the clue that these logs are at my sawmill. Thanks Mike
I purchased it from Mike. It's a great logging trailer, cleared many properties with it. I made a few adaptations to it like a heavier duty cross bar to handle bigger logs. I've put 4' diameter logs on this thing with no problem. I'm done with it now on to other things I wont need any wood for a long time so if someone wants to buy it from me I have it on craigslist, NH. ~Jason Peterson
Sweet..maybe a pully on the side to load sideways in the future, or strictly drag it up the rear?.. Great system as long as we don't have to use our backs..
Quite right. I often get the chance of some logs but I have to get in, load up and get out quickly ( perfectly legally of course, it's usually at the end of someone's shift or the wood's in the way ) and I can dispose of the sawdust at home. Unfortunately I don't fancy the cost of shipping one of these to the UK
I agree, looks like a nice trailer. Doesn't really replace a skid steer since it's lacking some versatility in that it takes longer to load and it probably gets difficult to put on logs higher and higher and it's difficult to put up a good stack of logs when unloading, but specifically for hauling logs the trailer has it whupped.
Nice job. I wonder if this could be slightly improved by adding a rolling pipe at the end of the trailer to lesson the resistance of dragging the logs up onto the trailer.
Great trailer, well done, well thought out...the unloader is what sends it over the top. .....if I didnt already have a Farmi winch and Tractor, I would be a customer. I can haul 5 ten foot logs that size, however I will sweat much more than you do, in rigging it up.
WOW IF 1 WAZ IN THAT BUSSINESS AND HAULED LOGS DAILY LIKE THIS. THAT WOULD Beeee, ( 1 HELL of a "NEW TOY" ) TO HAVE & OWN - I WANT 1 JUST B'COZ IT'S SO FRIG'N KOOL & EASY TO USE. 👍🏼👏🏼 ......
I want to start slabbing and so some of my trees are going to be bigger than that maybe 30 or 35 in around or diameter I mean. Will this setup work for that and my logs will not be any longer than 8 or 9 ft
You’d want a real winch, maybe heavier axles, beefier bracket for the pulley that redirects the cable (he calls it snatch block but not being used that way). This is a good lightweight setup for sure. Great for small logs and firewood.
I like it! Can you fill trailer? I thought it would have a higher articulating boom to lift load higher but I have a loader anyway, I would like to see it full before I would consider a purchase but definitely interested
+1crazynordlander If the logs are far from the trailer the battery can run down. The wire from the vehicle battery to the trailer battery only provides a trickle charge so I wind up taking a lunch break.
As in the above post my batteries drain fast loading up the side on skidding poles. I got several decent gear reducer boxes and plan to build a small gas engine winch using the gear box and belt drive it so it'll be reversible. Personally i haven't seen a battery winch big enough to pull logs that didn't drain any deep cell quickly.
I love it. Great job on the design, ease of use and solid construction. Very, very nice.
Thanks
I wasn't all that impressed until you unloaded. At which point i became very impressed. Very nice design
The logs should be side loaded also.
This the best design trailer I’ve seen so far. Nice and easy for old guys like us.
Brilliant trailer. Well thought out, designed and engineered. Solid + practical. Respect....
When I was younger I would throw logs like that by hand into the trailer. This seems great.
I enjoyed watching you load and unload the logs. Very nice trailer, good job.
That is the coolest thing I've ever seen in the log world! Amazingly impressive!!!!!
Really nice design and well built. Well done!!!
Ya know what I'm going to build now...THIS TRAILER...Some minor changer in loading, but a very easy way to make a tough job easy...Well Done.
Goddamn that is a badass super efficient layout and design. I’m jealous
When you're done with that, I get dibs! :)
Whatt a GREAT design....! Thanks for posting this Vid..! Gordon
Bad Ass simple strait to the point, I love it!
Awesome- well done, thanks for sharing!

Wow I didn't even think of that, sorry you had to spend all that money.
Maybe in a dodge
Wow, thanks for that tip Alan.
@Keith Clark They will still roll. Duh yourself. But, people like you have to break one to learn.
Magic is in the UNloading. Nice!
That was a fun vid to watch, glad I took a chance on it.
Great job my friend , no aching back for you . I’m jealous, I want one .
This is freaking brilliant, how you dont have more views is a mistery!! Awesome job, one day I will make myself something similar.
The swiss army knife of trailers!
Cool trailer...wish I had one!
STAY SAFE

Didn’t put 4’ log on with a 8500 winch! Lol
4' diameter 2 foot long? Lol
@Begbucks
Thanks. I get one end up, reset the choker on the back of the log, leave the snatch block on the boom and let the winch push it up.
That's a pretty cool trailer.
Hi Jason
Glad it worked out for you
Mike
Nice set up!
work smart not hard. great design.
That's nice thanks for sharing
Thanks
There was only one barb in that cable and I knew exactly where it was.
Mike
Pretty slick ideas here.
If anything one could have manual off loading ramps and just roll the logs off manually as well but yeah your way works well.
I love it Well done
That is a great set up
I wish I could click “love”. Well done, man. A real thing of beauty.
Very nice load and unload feature.
Glad you like it
Mike

I like your log trailer
I’m loving it
One of those $15 Wireless Winch remotes would make the a perfect setup.
Nice job !

@sick2003f150
The trailer is welded with 2x3 square tube with several wall thicknesses.
I second that!! Nice job!
the lumber truck stopped to let the lumberjack off
Now that´s a cool Tool.
Awesome!
Awesome. I'm jealous
You are a genius 👏
Pretty slick.
Grazie Tanto
Mike
Un trailer geniale!
WOW that is awesome i really could use one of those.
great trailer!
Nice trailer.
WOW!!!!! very ingenious!
Just brilliant
nice trailer good work
Excellent! Well thought out, and nicely constructed. A compact rig that makes quick easy work of it. Beats hell out of a Skid Steer!

wow ! is very good work !
Wow! The Gear for the Beer! :) excelent!! :)
That is the coolest trailer I have seen do u have build plans for this very cool man great video
Грамотно 👍👍💪💪🤙
slick trailer
I like it 👍
Smooth job papaw smooth
Wow, just wow. My compliments sir! If I continue on my current business trajectory, I'll have to contact you or get busy welding.
Nice rig.
That's smart I gotta make one
Nice job. I wonder if this could be slightly improved by adding a rolling pipe at the end of the trailer to lesson the resistance of dragging the logs up onto the trailer.
It already has a rolling pipe at the end of the trailer just above the tail lights
love it
NICE!!
incredible! Well done..
thats slicker than snot on a door knob
WOW thats impressive
Awesome
Thanks

Wow nice
The winch has 80' of cable, I carry a log arch in the truck that clips to the cable and keeps the log up out of the dirt.
Thanks
logtrailer. That good hard work
It was nice, good when it's long distance.
WOW IF 1 WAZ IN THAT BUSSINESS
AND HAULED LOGS DAILY LIKE THIS.
THAT WOULD Beeee,

i like this

I looked on CL for this. I love it. Can someone advise where or if still for sale? Sweet.
BEASTMODE
I like it! Can you fill trailer? I thought it would have a higher articulating boom to lift load higher but I have a loader anyway, I would like to see it full before I would consider a purchase but definitely interested
Great idea, did u make the whole trailer what size are the cross beams on the trailer
Great trailer you made, you should do well if the price is right.
I would love to see the build for this thing !!!
Very nice!!!! What type of hydraulic unit/pump are you using to operate the side lifting ram?
12 volt pump from Northern
Great setup for those who don't have a loader. Does your battery ever run out of energy before you get it full or do you keep your vehicle running?
+1crazynordlander If the logs are far from the trailer the battery can run down. The wire from the vehicle battery to the trailer battery only provides a trickle charge so I wind up taking a lunch break.
+logtrailer Are you using some form of deep cycle battery on the trailer?
As in the above post my batteries drain fast loading up the side on skidding poles. I got several decent gear reducer boxes and plan to build a small gas engine winch using the gear box and belt drive it so it'll be reversible. Personally i haven't seen a battery winch big enough to pull logs that didn't drain any deep cell quickly.
I am thoroughly impressed. I must inquire. Are you producing these trailers for sale? If so, who would I contact to order one?
Good
Cool trailer, should try and have something to hold the logs right before you unload so you could saw it up at waist height ,
TOP !
Wow
I like it.
How many logs can you got on it?
How much?
Trying to find it on CL for sale. Is it still available? Love it!!
