- Normally, raccoons are nocturnal, skittish and shy animals. But not the ones we spotted in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, and animal control officials say people have only themselves to blame. Kiet Do reports. (9/23/20)
Racoons: Hey its 2020
"a pack of agressive raccoons''
raccoons: casually walking down the street
Feed them one little nugget and you will never get rid of them
Human: puts city on top of wild environment
Human when there are wild animals adapting to their destroyed/new habitat: 🤯
Like this for years they are.
“Humans invade raccoon home”- more accurate
Raccoons will kill pet cats.dogs chickens ducks .
Not my blue nose pit
hanz patinski worms for brains yikes
You can tell those people have no idea the danger they are placing their animals in and that's bitter.
Yes, they will attack and kill your pets
They been here before us
Humans are the only ones that need to be in rehab and of course those who need it the most would never go.
Too many people are feeding them. Someone gets rabies and it’s not going to be cute anymore
She really went out of her way to buy that Ruth shirt huh
I'll take the brazen raccoons over the homeless any day.
This is literally right outside my house. I haven’t been able to go back because one touched my toddler and it terrifies me, they follow you for 10-15 minutes
“City people” - bad for the environment...
In a environment away from people they would fend for themselves and become wild again. Relocate them. Do not euthanize them.
Stop giving them joints
Coexist!!! Don’t kill them!!!
Now that’s a word the left used to use till they didn’t win the last election. Now instead of coexist they burn down buildings and kill Trump supporters.
I would never allow a racoon around my dog!! Rabies!!
Your dog better have the rabies vaccine that’s the law.
@@sawahtb Yes its the law for dogs but here you have racoons approaching people and dogs but the racoons havent had a rabies shot.
She said she kicked the Raccoon :(
Only Karen’s would go to the forest and get angry when they see an animal..
That’s not a “forest” that’s a park in the middle of the City.
Sarah H dude come on it’s large enough to be a mini forest the animals can’t tell a difference if they are scared they should stay in the city
Islemisawesome I didn’t see anyone getting “angry” and that “Forest” is a park regulate and maintained by the city government. They have honestly no chance of eliminating raccoons since raccoons are very common in the entire Bay Area. The problem is people feeding them.
Sarah H I’m not sure if you’re an undercover Karen but they were angry enough to go on the news a complain about an animal living in it’s own natural territory that we have decided to invade on
Islemisawesome Read my comment. Not angry. Just a fact. GG Park is surrounded by residential zones. It is a municipal park. It is not even a State Park.
Can you stop feeding "Rocket" 😁😁😂😂😂😂😂😂
Where is Bullwinkle?
just taking back what belongs to them
City raccoons are very smart. They know exactly what a human is capable of. As long as they are out of reach, they know you can't get them. And they understand the increased reach achieved by a stick or other weapon. Very smart.
They are hungry and yes that's true
they’re everywhere rather more than ever before
When she ask about rehabilitation I laughed so hard..
WTH was Luke doing while she was catching a beat down..
Send them to James blackwoods place.
poor little guys are hungry. They want a hot dog.
YES!
What is your favorite color? Blue! What is the airspeed of a swallow? Do you mean an African or European Swallow? I don't know?
There was one living in a tree right next to UCSF Parnassus. It dumpster dived in the trash bins there since the hospital staff at the cafeteria all the time. It was cute. My roommate named [her?] Zorrina :D
They don't taste too bad actually.
I have no comment but I live in NorCal and I understand Wildlife a little bit it's like if you leave a can of tuna out for a wild kittens you'll never get rid of them
same with people. In SF over the last half century they've torn down all the factories and built million dollar condos instead. Now you can't get rid of the yuppies and karens.
I live in the Valley now. The raccoons out here are tiny compared to our City raccoons 🤣 they big as shit
Racoons are from Golden Gate Park Mafia
*Gives him his family.*
The Great Outdoors. Ba ba ba Boom
They are in my backyard and neighborhood . One time, I saw the raccoon mom was trying to pull the raccoon kid from clinging to a rail.
So.. your point ?
@@maryh9812 they’re everywhere so this is not new to me.
" can't relocate "? LoLwtf
They were wearing 😷. They’re thinking about others and protecting the most vulnerable. Need to stay safe is SF City and County priority.
I'll keep feeding them...😏
Me too
Ha! Figures...
How pathetic. A pro-RBG shirt.
So there is conversation of putting racoons in behavior rehab...😐
Takuache Cuhh
You can relocate them. But in till people stop feeding them.
It’s sad to see The mama raccoon and all her litter have learned a behavior that is likely to end in their deaths. Please don’t feed wild animals.
These animals have adapted please save yourself !
Any encounter with wildlife and no thanks. And I get that she nudged a hissing racoon when surrounded by them. Pretty much takes the mellow out of mellow out.
You guys are F......!
@@maryh9812 I don't recall the exact context of my comment, Mary, but it was something like, wow, scary to have to face down all those raccoons on a mellow stroll through Golden Gate Park, a place of lots of good memories from my childhood. And hissing raccoons, no thanks. And I say that as an all-season, all-terrain cyclist--my little thumbnail is me in '75 on a bike I got for my birthday in '67 when we lived on Twin Peaks--and these days I live and ride in Central Pennsylvania and I encounter my share of wild creatures doing their thing on two-lane roads through the woods at night and it is not uncommon to encounter a skittish deer or darting raccoon and that's fine, it is their space. Just that I want nothing to do with them and it just seems that if you can't walk through a city park without facing huge numbers of raccoons, something's gotta give. And my deal would probably be not to return to that walkway when they're greeting the tourists.
i imagine for local sanfranciscans seeing homeless explode , they may in their minds metaphorically analogize this to the homeless problem a little bit. i'm not saying homeless people are racoons. i'm saying people see creatures (we are all gods creatures!) and they don't know how to react. to be threatened? to feed? to ignore?
it's not always so simple.
and just imagine how the pet dogs feel? oh my lord. hahaha.
this isnt news
Raccoons don'thurt people. People with dogs need to be careful and stop blaming the raccoons for being aggrersssive esp that first lady with that dog. I agreee that people should stop feeeding raccoons. Leave the raccoons alone and walk your dog somewhere else. You don't own that place, period.
Good. I have this new pellet rifle I've been wanting to try
Golden Gate Park is man made. We are not in their territory. Unless, of course, Richmond district sand dunes are their natural habitat.
I'm going to tell you this now I feed some raccoons but these raccoons only come out at night they don't come out in the day they are not aggressive you know why cuz I don't treat them as pets the only reason why I give food to them in a silver bowl away from the house towards a far distance towards my fence is to keep them in an area towards and their existence the forest because they were coming close now they are still afraid of me and I like that they don't come to people and I like that it's only a mother raccoon with sex baby cubs and that's it but they do not want to get near me and I don't want to get near them and that is good we do have to live with these animals cuz we humans are encroaching in their habitat we take and take and we don't realize this already civilizations of other animal species living in that territory we think everything belongs to us and we have a right to everything it's b******* this is going to be a problem for people who do not understand about animals and don't take time to understand them I personally do not want to make these animals pets they are sentient beings and we share this Earth with them. I keep my distance I do not want to be friendly but I do want to respect them and the reason why I give them food you because I'm tired of them being killed on the roads I see him trying to get food and they have to wonder. and there's no reason for them to die because of man's greed that is only reason why I give food away from my house far by my fence towards their woods they don't see me I don't see them I don't touch them they don't touch me but they know they can have a little bit of a meal but I am not encroaching to want to be near them I don't want them to be unafraid of people I want them to survive
This makes me smile. Years ago I lived in a cabin in the wilderness and at night a cotimundi (miner's cat) from the racoon family would manage to break in and totally trash my kitchen looking for food till I met it one nite up in the rafters drinking a bottle of Hershey's syrup like a toddler downing a bottle. After that I just left a cookie on the counter at bedtime and he would take it and leave.
I think its due to all of the weather changes and wildfires
I think they killed them all.
Karen🙄 Leave them alone poor raccoons go walk somewhere else and don’t complain because raccoons are not complaining about you and your dog that you are too close to their kids or family!!
I like this news!
Tony Tony Chopper
In Mexico we eat them their blessed too b in the u.s
Good, come up and kill all you want
There are folks in America that eat them too....I have a hard time digesting even domestically produced .eat so I felt sorry for the young boy who was staying with his grandparents and told me she cooked it, he didn't like it cause it was a greasey meat. Hey, people ate snails to survive and now they are served as a delicacy.
Creepy.
Raccoons are saying MAGA 2020.... viva Trump viva USA 🇺🇸
🤣🤣
Fake news Fernando ! You are just saying that so someone will want to euthanize them.
N guess wat we humans leave with left over food, they get n all u can eat buffet but fo them! So leave them alone please!
I'll feed them bb's 😁
I’ll feed them a 9mm
@@firedog451 state park bro,you better have muffler on the business end 🤣🤣200$ tax stamp from the feds, and the sheriff approval in my neck of the woods 😊
@@scottl3739 Forget it Scott - It's California.
@@BlueFox284 .... Ow , that's messed up, damn . Yeppers,it's time to relocate !!! Skimpy dressed ladies ain't worth the lack of freedom.... Just saying though 🤣
@@scottl3739 Yup.
It’s their neighborhood not ours
No it’s not, that is in the middle of the city.
Brian The Explorer get what? That GG Park is in the middle of SF?
Brian The Explorer did you have a point? I know all about the raccoons in SF. It’s not new. They’ve been traveling around checking out trash cans for decades. I use to watch them from my house in the Richmond District. They have family groups and are quite brazen. They are abundant in the entire Bay Area.
Bullshit
