    Man, I just love seeing someone handle bagged fish with so much care instead of swishing and sloshing them around. Even if it wouldn't matter for the fish it's good to see someone have respect for animal life!

    Oh Paul 😁😂, dimids have developed the laterally compressed shape as they hunt juvenile fish through tall vallisneria, they will actually stay motionless vertically against tall Reed's so they aren't noticed. Someone randomly saw a comp eating the eyes of a dead fish (Which all fish do) and gave it that common name.

    • @sydus81599
      @sydus81599 5 лет назад +1

      Also of note! A small pointed squirt bottle is millllles faster and more efficient than the fingernail or object method! It forces the fry or eggs out with a burst of water. I'm definately gonna send you a video of me using the dropper method!

    • @inventoryking
      @inventoryking  5 лет назад

      Hi there, thank you very much. The biggest reason for my water clarity is I built an Automated water change system. All the tanks in my fish room get water changes every day.

    • @slim56alger81
      @slim56alger81 5 лет назад

      That I understand, daily water changes will have a big impact on the health of your fishes as well as on the coloration, but what's your personal investment timewise?

    Is this common for them to rip tank mates fishes eyes out ? I think I have a female with 2 geophagus surinamensis and a birchardi cichlid ... I read some stories after I bought it but I initially thought it only ripped eyes out of potential prey “ small bony fish” able to be swallowed whole ... I would appreciate your info

    • @inventoryking
      @inventoryking  5 лет назад

      Its their nickname, not really sure how often it happens, etc. With african cichlids, if its small enough to fit in its mouth, it has a high chance of being eaten.
