    Hey! did you just follow those directions on Tsuki's mod page???? Don't! you'll end up with a weird artifact with the UI and washed out colors. HERE'S WHAT YOU DO!
    -Go back to the reshaders and uninstall the reshader!
    - go to @12:26 on this video and pause it!
    -reinstall the shader!
    -at the part where Tsuki says to just add his .ini at the bottom for the shaders. Dont!
    -Go back to this video
    -Look at the ones he has (Especially the ones in parenthesis)
    -Look through the shaders for the shades that are on this video @12:26 !
    -Install those
    -Hit Finish

      @@HeroInHisHead then let me be more specific in what I had to do. Currently if you simply install Tsuki's reshade, It produces really washed out colors and a weird mask that's out of sync with the UI. Maybe fiddling with the settings will fix it, but at the time I didn't even know you could do that. So I went through your video and found your reshade list and only installed the ones that you had checked. I ended up disabling vignette, and realizing that you can fiddle with the shader settings. so I disabled all the shaders and individually figured out what does what. For mine I started off with clarity and added from there.

    Never looked into reshade for kenshi before, just too weak a system previously lol. I'm excited because the lighting adds so much to Kenshi's vibe. I can attest, as someone with a 1660 and an $80 CPU, that lower shadows save me around 5-12 frames. There is a kenshi specific optimisation profile on nexus (only for NVIDIA afaik) that apparently saves a ton of load time. I haven't tried it out yet but the majority of the comments agree that it's pretty effective.

    Thank you for helpful video. You can push most major terrain GFX sliders (view, terrain, building etc distances important for visual enjoyment :) to right further than in your video with RTX3000 series, but not worth pushing grass out further as it is not a real 'pop-up' problem. Upgraded from 980Ti to 3080 and all sliders now maxed with no loss, and yes, have run Tsuki for years. IMHO, setting ALL reflections is more of a performance issue, especially with very old game engine, I only have Landscape reflections. Browse Nexus, there are two new well-developed performance mods (not just snake oil!) released in May2023 that look very promising. wild guess... you're not running windows 11, are you? i was a big fan of the ccleaner in the past, but beginning with windows 10 and 11, i started to have major issues, wich forced me to reset windows at the end, because the way windows updates its programms interferes with some CCleaner doings, wich results in windows updates not propperly becomming installed. i strongly reccomend to make sure, to not harm your system more than you help it unless you have multiple gobacks in place to enable yourself to undo some changes if nessecairy.

    What's wrong with just using Disk Cleanup (built into Windows) instead of CCleaner? Both do the same thing?

  • @Alex-ii5pm
    @Alex-ii5pm Год назад +3

    I highly advise caution using Ccleaner for clearing registry entries. This can brick your OS and to an inexperienced user will require a fresh install of windows.
    PC optimization programs is more like snake oil than beneficial. The best thing to do is minimize all background applications from running at startup in task manager as you said and also make sure you are not running any 3rd party anti virus programs as this majorly kills performance on your PC. Windows defender is all you need and is free and doesn't bog the PC.
    Tried the reshade and GFX settings and is running flawlessly on my 10850k and 3070.

    • @HeroInHisHead
      @HeroInHisHead  Год назад +2

      As I have explained in other comments. I advise against using anything other than its default selections. I have used CCleaner for well over 10 years with no issues in the slightest. Issues occur when people try to customize the program without understanding what they are doing or customizing. However the same concept can be applied to manually cleaning your PC as well so I feel its a bit moot.
      With that in mind I do advise people to air on the side of caution and never use a program you don't feel comfortable with. However in terms of explaining my own optimization of Kenshi I found using CCleaner for registry cleaning to be efficient and effective.

  • @savagecrow
    @savagecrow 5 месяцев назад

    Great video though for those of us with gaming rigs it's definitely overkill - I typically run the construction set in the background (the game doesn't like this sometimes but I prefer it for modding) and run Kenshi on max everything with max pop settings constantly bouncing between squads in multiple cities and outposts without any hiccups.
    I don't run hundreds of mods though - mostly just my own. So maybe that's why so many have performance issues...

    • @HeroInHisHead
      @HeroInHisHead  5 месяцев назад +1

      Totally fair point. I mostly made the segment about PC optimization to assist those who maybe dont have an up to date rig. I wanted my graphical setup to be both asthetically pleasing and accessible to a wide range of people regardless of their hardware.
      But you're correct it is a bit much, although I personally don't think you can go overboard when optimizing your pc performance 😅 give me all those extra frames I can't even see lol

    • @savagecrow
      @savagecrow 5 месяцев назад

      @@HeroInHisHead I was honestly surprised by people in the comments having potato rigs in 2024... When I started PC gaming floppy disks were still around... and my "first computer from my parents" didn't even have enough colors in the OS to play games that used discs. I had dial up internet through socal freenet (parents couldnt afford AOL dial-up!) -- tv? you had to turn the antenna pole outside just to get the 1 or 2 channels to have less static lines and hopefully you could eventually both see and hear the screen when you were done...then ofc you had to watch Seinfeld or Love and Marriage because that's literally all that there was..
      I saved my lunch money (no lunch!) for 2 years (until I was 10) to buy my first real computer ($399 before taxes/upgrades). I paid extra to upgrade to a whopping 256mb ram...(using 2 sticks!) and my games still stuttered at minimum settings if they even started.
      Now it's 2024 and you can make enough in one week of gig work to buy a legit gaming rig... no sympathy there my friend.

      @johnwoolman2513 I mean as of 2024 the cost of living has gone up 400% in the U.S and our pay didnt rise to match my man. Most people prioritize bills and keeping their families going before dropping $1800+ on a quality gaming pc.
      I myself as a kid had to focus on finding food and heat to much to worry about my PC and even as an adult I work in a upper level white collar position and still don't usually have a spare few hundred to drop on upgrades in good conscious. I get what you're saying, but I don't think it's a "bootstrap and save" issue.

    Literally redownloaded kenshi about an hour ago and am doing research to figure out what my ideal modlist would look like. One thing I'd like to say though is idk if cccleaner is really helping you all that much. Its most likely not doing any harm but i think most of the cleaning its doing can be done easily manually. And im not positive its going to boost performance for kenshi all that much. But if you have more insight into why it helps please lmk.

    • @HeroInHisHead
      @HeroInHisHead  Год назад +2

      Specifically it helps with defragmenting your registry. Kenshi's engine is pretty outdated and not optimized for modern gaming. As a result there tends to be a LOT of redundant strings and endless scripts that run and cause registry issues.
      Effectively it means when you run kenshi the game has background processes that don't lead anywhere. Cause bloating in your save. And slow performance on meaningless tasks in the background. CCleaner is a easier way to Defrag than manually doing it and can alleviate those issues. It's not a HUGE boost. But it is definitely noticeable.

    • @sethwinters3556
      @sethwinters3556 Год назад +1

      @@HeroInHisHead ahh that makes sense. I've been told for most things CCleaner handles its not really needed and even has the potential to delete what it believes is an uneeded blank registry key, but is in fact needed lol. But that makes sense. I would not want to manually go clear that junk out. I just built a slightly higher end rig so I'll probably skip that step for now. But if I start having performance issues I will 100% keep that in mind. Thanks! Was eyeballing this mod and I'm glad I came across your vid. Really sold it for me. • @HeroInHisHead
      @HeroInHisHead  Год назад +1

      You might need some minor to shadows or textures but your setup is beyond mine so to be honest you may be good to go even at 2k with my settings. I don't think it would hurt to try and see how long you can go without stuttering and crashing.
      As for longer loading times when your party is split. That's limitation of the engine. Granted this process will help thay TREMENDOUSLY, it will still happen on occasion as the game is essentially running the entire game (even areas you aren't at) mathematically behind the scenes, while simultaneously trying to actually generate multiple locations graphically. It can be taxing and the engine is pretty outdated as it is.
      Mayne try ticking the larger chunk loading box in your graphics if you haven't already? It loads larger areas at a time which can help reduce the frequency of stop gaps in load times
      Hopefully that helps and like I said. These steps should up your performance pretty significantly regardless of the old engine.

      Verify your game cache then and try a fresh install. It's likely a conflict on your end because I've still no issue with this setup nor has anyone else I've assisted with it. With that being said what's your PC specs. Could be a memory or processor issue as well

      Current specs are an i7 with 16gb ram and a 3060ti 8gb GPU. However running this exact setup until recently I had a 1660ti 6gb GPU so it's pretty accessible

    razor cortex while having no razor gear makes no sense but ok bra

      This comment doesn't really make sense for the application cortex is being used for. You don't need razer gear to utilize its booster application to free up background RAM. Which is what it's being used for in this video.

      No where does it mention needing "Razer Gear" to be effective.
